Maybe she did start to walk through the park, found that she didn't have her badge and turned around. One of the people that hang out at the park follow her back to the car. She could have had the passenger door open looking for the badge and he pushed her in.....and threatened her with a weapon to cooperate.....ugh...this is just really really awful.....

This is the block where Cheryl's husband located her white Subaru in the afternoon. It wouldn't have been this light at 7am, but definitely not "dark." The area between the crosswalk in the foreground and the crosswalk seen near the top of the picture is the entire block. It's right next to a playground that goes back into the woods.

I need to read up on that case.

It was mentioned early on in this case, with the two year anniversary on Feb 18. It happened in a nearby city or town (don't remember). Susan, same age group, has not been found, and she also disappeared mysteriously.

Pickard said they found something helpful in the day’s search, though he would not elaborate.

Police are not releasing details on any injuries to DeBoer’s body, pending the release of the medical examiner’s ruling and lab results, Pickard said. The body was found clothed, he said.

Jinx! I guess I am the one that owes you a Coke as we both posted the same thing except you are ahead of me! :)

I did the test today on my husbands powers of observations on my work clothing. He saw me this morning before I left for work...and again after work before I changed out of my work clothes. I waited 30 minutes after changing and asked him what I wore to work today...he said "clothes"....(rolling my eyes) I asked him to be more specific...he said "a shirt and a pair of pants - isn't that what you wear every day?" That got another eye roll out of me. I asked about shoes...he said "you have so many how would I know which pair you wore". He had no clue what colors I had on, whether I was wearing a blouse, sweater or a blazer. I asked about jewelry. The only things he was certain on was my wedding rings and fitbit - no clue about the rest of it. Enough of that....

Any car buffs here that would know if her car doors auto lock when the park gear is disengaged? My previous vehicle automatically locked the doors when the car was moved from park. My current newer vehicle does not auto lock the doors. I must push the lock button (locks all four doors at one). When I got this new vehicle it took me awhile to re-learn to manually lock the doors after closing my door.

Anyone else a little fanatical about locking themselves in the car before taking off?

Required to wait 30 days or required to comply within 30 days? I just can't see any reason any provider would purposely wait 30 seconds, in an investigation such as this. Their customer is dead. LE calling it under suspicious circumstances. Seems to me that's all it would need for the deceased customer's records to be handed over.

Sorry if my previous post wasn't clear. Typically a subpoena/search warrant for call records allows the telecom 30 days to respond to the request, but sometimes as much as 6 weeks.

Typically, I received about 200 subpoenas/search warrants every month and that was only 25% of my job description. That's an average of 50 per week, with only 10 hours of my week devoted to that work. With everything required to get the data out of our systems - and there were three other paralegals who were also processing the same volumes of subpoena/search warrants - it would usually take about 3 weeks to get the data back from engineering. Then another week to process all the responses and send them out to LE.

I can count on one or two hands the number of times over twenty years when I was required to respond to a subpoena or search warrant within 24 or 48 hours. The vast majority of those were National Security issues. I can remember only one instance where there was a crime in process - a kidnapping - and we were able to get the data to LE in real time as calls were being made. With that, LE was able to triangulate locations and apprehend the kidnapper and free the victim. In a murder investigation, you don't have a living victim, so the sense of urgency is not the same.

Mountlake Terrace Police say they have ruled out Cheryl DeBoer’s husband as a suspect in her disappearance and death. “Based on interviews our detectives did with him, we know he was not involved,” said Commander Kevin Pickard. Police are not releasing how DeBoer was killed. Law enforcement sources say police did find what they believe is blood in her car. Snohomish County Search and Rescue crews and Mountlake Terrace Police did a grid search today in the area where her body was located at 244th and Cedar Way. “They looked through the berry bushes, got in the water on their hands and knees and felt their way along to look for evidence,” said Commander Pickard. They did recover several items for processing by the crime lab but are not releasing exactly what those were. Police are asking people who walk in the area around 23400 block of 58th Ave West where DeBoer’s car was found and where she was located to look for anything that appears out of place and to contact them immediately if they see something. They are also asking the public to contact them if they saw anyone suspicious in the area between Feb. 8th when DeBoer disappeared and Sunday, Feb. 14th when she was found. Police know there is a lot of fear in the community and cautions everyone to be careful and aware of their surroundings. Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who can help Mountlake Police identify and arrest a suspect. Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound Washington's Most Wanted

LE hasn't indicated that this was where CD initially parked or where the attack happened. It could just be where the attacker found parking after he brought CD to the creek. I am guessing that CD was transported from the site of the attack to the creek in her own car. I can't see the attacker moving her to another vehicle to transport her.

Oh, this isn't the Susan Jacobson that I know of then.
Susan Jacobson went missing from Roseville, California, May 2013. She was 59 at the time.
She still hasn't been found. There is a WS thread for her.

I do think it's the same Susan folks here are referring to.

From looking at the picture where her car was found, if she first passed a security camera at 236th and 56th two minutes prior to the text, it would be logical that she would have parked on the right hand (eastern) side of the street (in the above picture.) Not up against the park. The entire eastern side of the street on that block has a fence running along it and no place to hide.

So the person(s) must have either crossed the street to get to her from the park area, or just been right along her side of the road, walked around to the driver's side, and started the crime at that point. I'm wondering if it was not her blood, but the perp's, on the passenger door - but I'm sure that LE would know that by now.

I feel so terrible for the family tonight, especially. All this time knowing that there had been blood found and not being able to say it. No wonder they were mourning so soon. :(

I wonder if it's possible that the killer escaped on public transit and that's why he/she parked the car near the transit (but not within surveillance). Perhaps after having dropped her at the culvert. I dunno. I would have guessed this would have been someone close to her. Now I'm a bit stumped!

My mistake. Same person, my facts were wrong. The article was from Feb 18, and mentioned 2 year anniversary - I made assumptions. She vanished in May 2013.

http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2015...ed-to-missing-roseville-woman-susan-jacobson/

Hey that's ok...assumptions....I made plenty of assumptions myself with Cheryl's case. I have a lot to learn. It really did look like something else. Now I feel I need to apologize to her whole family!
I am sorry Cheryl's family!
I hope Justice is Served!
