@teatime Cheryl is shown leaving her house on surveillance that morning. How could she be in the culvert when she's physically on camera?

As of a few hours ago, 100% yes.Does anyone entertain the possibility that law enforcement is purposefully giving out false information at this point to make the perp feel more at ease and/or to possibly get more information?
I will come back with a link, but the DeBoer home has a surveillance system. MD was seen on camera, leaving the house at 6:50. Cheryl, a bit later. I don't remember the time, but link coming.I believe her car was seen leaving the house, not necessarily her in it.
I think the text was sent by her. My biggest question is why CD? Was she singled out by the murderer, if indeed this was a homicide? The short time period from when the text was sent to the discovery of her car later in the day is puzzling. And this area is well trafficked yet no one saw anything suspicion.
The little bits of info released only confuses the public. Perhaps this is how LE up there operates.
Perplexing case based on what we know. No way is this a suicide IMHO.
I hope it's okay that I bring this post I just made over from the old thread.

Mountlake Terrace isn't on here, so I went with Seattle - not the same but comparable enough for our purposes, IMO. Seattle is 20 minutes from Mountlake Terrace.
The above picture was taken in November 2015. Other pictures in the area are from December 2015. You can see an ever so slight shade in some spots if you 'travel' the road a bit. The shade indicates the sun (however little sunlight there was) was shining from a point between east southeast and south.
I went with a November 23rd date. The sun that day rose at 7:26am east southeast, and was at south at 11:56am. Now I'm not a great compass reader, but a rough estimate will do IMO - the middle point between those two points and times would be approximately 9:45am.
It's my belief the Google maps picture was taken around that time, 9:45am. (Idk if and what it matters, but there you go).![]()
Can you say more about how one might do this?I suppose someone could have tampered with the surveilace system.
I really like this "most likely scenario!" It makes the most sense to me since there was reference to her normally parking at the transit center, and not where her car was found. I believe her husband would have checked the transit center covered parking first, and then the open lot. Failing to find her car there, he would have moved to the overflow parking area where he discovered her car..../
The most likely scenario is she noticed her badge was missing, pulled on the side street where she knows there is parking available to look for it. Once she couldn't find it she text the friend. She would not risk being stuck in the park and ride garage before she located it. It would have delayed her significantly just due to the traffic on that half block. Especially if she usually wore it around her neck. She would have noticed as she was driving. Something happened during the search just after she sent the text.) .../
Kevin Pickard recently graduated from a specialized FBI Advanced Training. http://mltnews.com/mountlake-terrace-police-commander-graduates-from-fbi-national-academy/Sorry to ask such a stupid question (and sorry if it's been answered before!) but are Seattle PD or the FBI or anyone like that involved? My theory on why LE's methods seem a little iffy is because MLT police are probably not at all equipped or experienced enough for this.
This is the police blotter for the week she was missing: http://mltnews.com/mountlake-terrace-police-blotter-feb-5-11/

I haven't specifically heard of any other agencies involved after the first few days.

If we believe the theory of abduction and murder by stranger or acquaintance is true, could the cuts on her fingers stem from trying to get out of the vehicle and in a panic hurting herself on something sharp on the passenger door where she had been forced to sit?
This theory would explain both the cuts and the blood found in the car, however I think it's more likely that the cuts had nothing to do with her disappearance and death.

I wanted to ask, since you brought this pic up.
I don't know if you have done this, but the thumbnail pic of the car can be clicked on and made much much larger.
Do you think that pet carrier was in the vehicle?
This looks to be the LE impound lot.
Anyway, what my post is actually about, is the Red tape on strategic places on the car.
There is red tape on the fuel door cover, red tape on the right rear window, red tape between the right front passenger window and rear window, red tape on the right side of the hood.
Above the fuel door cover it appears to have a black stain. Maybe nothing. But all that red tape would indicate something, right?
Would that be blood, or fingerprints?
Can someone bring a large copy of that photo of the car on the thread? It would be great if someone has the means to do so, and just keep the link with it, as well.
IMOO.
