9 traffic tickets? And she's lived there for how long?

Man, either she is an unsafe driver or the police must really be all out persecuting her for being black.

Apparently Rachel tried to delay the NAACP executive meeting unilaterally, without the Committee's input or approval. The Committee rebuffed her move and will meet tomorrow as scheduled.

Rachel is toast.

Good. She should be.

I can't be the only one who is bothered by the notion of Rachel being a mentor to anyone.

You're not. I'm appalled. Vomit.

According to the Washington state dept of licensing, RD does not have a license as a barber, cosmetologist, esthetician, nor manicurist.

https://fortress.wa.gov/dol/dolprod/bpdLicenseQuery/lqsSearchResults.aspx

She does have 9 entries for municipal, district court cases listing her as a defendant (presumably for traffic tickets). The most recent being 6/1/15 in Whitman county (near Pullman where her brother/son might be attending school).

Dw.courts.wa.gov

Her brother/son was listed as a student at U of I for 2014/15 year.

Since August 2011 tickets began in Washington state. 3 of them within 1 month 2011. 1 in 2012, 3 in 2014, 2 this year

Makes sense since U of I is in Moscow, ID which is 9 miles away from Pullman, Wa (WSU)

It appears RD overstepped her boundaries by trying to cancel the NAACP meeting tomorrow night. She is being called out by the Executive Committee Chair stating she does not have authority to cancel or postpone the meeting as it is a fixed date 3rd Monday of each month.

Here is another email related to same thing

Look at 2nd story (kxly), click on the mentioned petition, and read the comments by Donna S. (signer 331).

She is an ex friend of Rachel's, and provides very interesting insights about how Rachel managed to pull off her fraud for as long as she did.

Wow. A must read. However, it was listed as signer 332 when I found it.

“I come from an eclectic household with African-American, Native American, German, Czech, Swedish, Jewish and Arabic heritages and culture,” said Rachel, whose father hunted for meat with a bow and arrow and was a county commissioner who brought loggers, miners and environmentalists together.

In most states, you do not need a license to braid hair and arrange hair into ethnic styles.
http://madamenoire.com/205077/the-r...or-hair-braiding-are-shifting-across-the-u-s/

So, for ppl only braiding 'ethnic' hair, most states do not require a license.
Interesting. And interesting article in madamenoire too. Not intending to question or refute above post, just digging for def's in WA statutes (which I may be misinterpreting).

Short comment - based on info below, I wonder if St. of WA does require licensing for braiding, which would seem to involve 'arranging, dressing, styling, etc. under both 'old' law and 'new' law.

If she does any of the following in bold, seems those services might (would?) req. cosmetology license, but I have not searched statutes for exemptions that may be lurking in other sections. JM2cts and could be all wrong.

Looooooong comment w excerpts of old & new statutes

"RCW 18.16.020. Definitions.*** CHANGE IN 2015 *** (SEE 1063-S.SL) ***
(26) "The practice of cosmetology" means arranging, dressing, cutting, trimming, styling, shampooing, permanent waving, chemical relaxing, straightening, curling, bleaching, lightening, coloring, waxing, tweezing, shaving, and mustache and beard design of the hair of the face, neck, and scalp;...
[hair removal manicure, pedicure]." bbm http://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=18.16.020

Oh!!! ^ in 2015 statute was amended, seems to create new licensing classification, apparently w fewer hours training, and permitting fewer cosmo services. No time ATM to check for details. To navigate to new law, use above link and click on 1063-S.SL.

"Sec. 1. RCW 18.16.020 and 2013 c 187 s 1 are each reenacted and amended to read as follows: As used in this chapter, the following terms have the meanings indicated unless the context clearly requires otherwise:
"(16) "Hair design" means the practice of arranging, dressing, cutting, trimming, styling, shampooing, permanent waving, chemical relaxing, straightening, curling, bleaching, lightening, coloring, mustache and beard design, and superficial skin stimulation of the scalp.
"
"(17) "Hair designer" means a person licensed under this chapter29 to engage in the practice of hair design."
This ^ was filed w Secretary of State April 23, 2015. If it gave an effective date, I read so quickly I missed it.

Regarding the comments on the petition see number 70 written by the person who delivered the Omsbudsman application to RD, supported her NAACP appointment, and also wrote an email listed on the KXLY site (JP) who calls RD "vain and narcissistic" in the comments on the petition. He describes himself as half Thai and half white and he doesn't feel welcome by RD at meetings.

You're not. I'm appalled. Vomit.

Hopefully it's another embellishment and she thinks she's mentoring some young black girls while they think that they're getting their hair done with the woman who's a bit weird and talks too much but does it cheaper than regular salons.

I think the numbers change when another person signs the petition.

The one I think you meant was 69 when I saw it.

“I come from an eclectic household with African-American, Native American, German, Czech, Swedish, Jewish and Arabic heritages and culture,” said Rachel, whose father hunted for meat with a bow and arrow and was a county commissioner who brought loggers, miners and environmentalists together.

Rachel was familiar with North Idaho’s white supremacist reputation, but hoped hate crimes wouldn’t happen to her. Last spring, three Neo-Nazis came to the HREI building and verbally harassed her about her biracial identity and school programs. Later her home was burglarized. One morning, she found a noose on her porch and recently a swastika sticker was stuck on the HREI’s front door.

Note biracial identity... and if there's a sticker where she volunteers, it's a hate crime happening to HER.

Saw that and it changed to 70 last I checked. Thanks for the heads up!
