I think [my siblings and I] are fiercely loyal to each other due to the amount of trauma we have in our past and how that has forged a really deep appreciation for those people who are truly there for you. Gitana, you are exactly correct with that interpretation-- she was suspected of orchestrating the hate crimes herself. Yes, that video is pretty enlightening. I'll embed it here for others.

At the 6 min mark the reporter begins asking her if SHE could be the one who put the letter in her keyed box. (Also love how she refers to herself as a professor of African studies-- just debunked by the university in their released statement.)

What I find the most sad in all this is the possibility that her son has been subjected to terror and death threats ... and that they may have been trumped up by his mother. She describes a 13 year old sleeping in her bed because of the terror from the hate mail. Yet she NEVER denies sending it.

Oh, and she saved a suicidal mixed-race girl by doing her hair, and she saved her brother/son from abuse by suing for custody, etc.

Yes. And that further impresses me that despite some initial skepticism I had for a moment about how this story broke and whether her parents were key, they are innocent in this. There is no more custody battle.

It is fascinating how many liars never actually can bring themselves to say they didn't do something that they did... Instead she talks about how she couldn't even imagine any mother doing so...

And she repeatedly mentions her black sons. You know, because as a white person she has to assert that her sons are black...

Dolezal does not discuss her own ethnicity in detail in her numerous writings on civil rights issues, but in several pieces she uses idioms such as “our cultural memory” when speaking about African American history.

In a lecture posted on YouTube, she speaks about the history of African American hairstyles and says she will describe “what happened to our hair here in America” when slavery meant certain kinds of styles were banned.

Since the current furore began, Dolezal has closed down her Facebook page, having been an active user of the site to post commentary on African American issues and culture.

Even after this letter, however, Dolezal posted on Facebook that the “War Pigs, the group that has been sending death threats to [her] and possibly involved in home invasion and other security breaches at [her] residence” are known “as a biker club to outsiders and as a ‘viciously violent hate group that rides motorcycles' to people in the inside of the street-know."

KREM says neither the police nor civil rights groups have heard of the “War Pigs.” The “War Pigs” does appear to be a motorcycle club, but located in Singapore, the UAE, and Japan, not in the United States.

Oh, and get this: her 13 year old son all but says she's a liar in one of the police reports:

In April, a man and a woman walked into Dolezal’s house while she was testifying at City Hall. On Facebook that day she wrote: “I'm furious. Furious. Two white adults broke into my home while I was testifying at City Council tonight. Scared my 13 year old son to death. So glad he's unharmed. Another police report... Reviewing surveillance footage. This is scary.”

But her son specifically told police that he wasn’t worried, that the couple seemed unsure of the address, and that the couple had entered through an unlocked side-door to the kitchen.

“The male asked [Dolezal’s son] if anyone had recently moved in and that he was there to take care of a dog for someone. [Dolezal’s son] said the male was not confrontational or threatening in anyway, rather he seemed confused,” the police report reads.

Dolezal's son also said he didn’t dial 911 and that “No, I wasn’t scared at all. They looked confused. They looked like normal, middle class white people. They never threatened me. They looked like average people.”

In fact, before leaving, the couple apologized for inadvertently letting the cat run outside when the couple opened the doors, and spent a few minutes trying to help retrieve the cat from a nearby yard before leaving.

Her main dislike stemmed from all the money Kathryn Stockett, the author of the novel and a white woman, made off of this book and film.
"Follow the money trail," Dolezal said. "A white woman makes millions off of a black woman's story."

Apparently, her birth parents had never said anything publicly for years. Even after seeing a picture she posted of a black man, calling him her father.

But recently, an investigative reporter came knocking on their door, asking them if they were her birth parents. And they said yes.
That is according to the interview I saw with them on CNN.

That was just in Jan 2015 she posted the picture of the black man she said was her father.

In January, a photo of Dolezal and a black man appeared on the Spokane NAACP's Facebook page with the message: "President Dolezal's father announced today that he will be coming to town for January 19th ribbon-cutting ceremony for the NAACP office ... and is expected to speak at the 7 p.m. MLK tribute membership meeting."

But the man in the photo is not her father.

If she adopted her brother when he was 16, and her son turns 13 in June, 2015, which 13 year old son is she referring to when she discusses the 13 year old son who slept in her bed for 2 weeks because he was so scared about her work related hate mail letter? The letter without the postmark was the first of the three letters, so when did this happen? Her timeline doesn't work. ... or did this happen three years ago and she's talking about her brother being so scared of the hate mail that he slept in her bed for two weeks. One of the other brothers has said that she turned one of her brothers into disliking people with white skin.

We make and wear Trayvon hoodies, #BlackLivesMatter apparel and "I Can't Breathe" shirts, but who will memorialize us when we are gunned down by police, assaulted in our homes or killed in a crossfire? We remember the first and last names of our sons who have been killed — Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown — but do we know the names of Ashley Yates, Alexis Templeton and Brittany Ferrell, who started the #BlackLivesMatter movement?

Black women stand at the intersection of both oppressions, and when our lives are measured, the weight of our legacy will attest that we are of equal value to black men, white men, white women and every other person on the planet.

I asked my son yesterday if he is all ready for seventh grade. Without hesitation, he said, "Ya, pretty much. I've got basically everything except white privilege." His words have been haunting me ever since, with the memory of last year starting out with him getting a concussion, followed by other bullying incidents and social challenges at school here. What exactly does white privilege mean to a 12-year-old embarking on seventh grade …at Sacajawea Middle School? What does white privilege mean in Spokane, or North Idaho in general? I think of him turning 13 this October and feel powerless to spare him from the daily reminders of white privilege, or maybe more accurately white supremacy...

NAACP leader to speak Monday; parents say she lied on race

KHQ-TV in Spokane reported that Dolezal sent a message to NAACP members saying she would address the situation at a Monday night meeting of the group.

"As you probably know by now, there are questions and assumptions swirling in national and global news about my family, my race, my credibility, and the NAACP," Dolezal's message said. "I have discussed the situation, including personal matters, with the Executive Committee.

"I support their decision to wait until Monday to make a statement. The Executive team asked that I also release my response statement at the same time, which will be during the 7-9 p.m. monthly membership meeting."

Dolezal has not returned several telephone messages left by The Associated Press.

On Thursday, she avoided answering questions directly about her race and ethnicity in an interview with The Spokesman-Review newspaper.

"That question is not as easy as it seems," she said. "There's a lot of complexities ... and I don't know that everyone would understand that."

"We're all from the African continent," she added.

When I first read about this story I laughed. Then it just became a bizarre and somewhat tragic mess. Now I think I hate this woman.

Rachel Dolezal had been living in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where she was education director of the Human Rights Education Institute. Maureen Dolan, a reporter with the Coeur d’Alene Press, one of the first papers to break the story of Rachel Dolezal’s race-swap, said she watched as the white woman she first met appeared to transform over the years.

“When I met Rachel several years ago I honestly believed she was Caucasian,” Dolan told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme on Saturday morning. “But the reality is her appearance changed and within several years her colour, her skin tone changed, her complexion changed, the way she wore her hair changed.”
