The incredible irony here is that if she is fired or steps down from her position with NAACP, it will be because of the effects of her race as she has portrayed them. I can't even wrap my head around that.
I'm sure there's a discrimination lawsuit in there somewhere.
Equally incredibly, she has damaged the social activism of black women, who she champions. She has made a mockery of her career activism in imposter "blackface".
She didn't need to do any of this to be an activist for racial and social causes. But it wasn't good enough to just be who she is. The message she sent is that the only way she could be an activist is to be an imposter-- a race imposter. THAT is the message she sent to her brother and kid/s. I feel so sorry for her brother and kid/s.
Man, this woman is messed up in the head. IMO.
OK I have to ask, How many people do you think said, I told you she wasn't black/AA, I told you. ??? Come on
The more I think about it, the more it seems like sexual characteristics, and racial characteristics, fall into the same basket. Anthropology describes race by bone shape, just like sex is described by physical characteristics. DNA always tells the truth, but if someone with male DNA can claim to be female, then why can't someone from the Mongoloid race claim to be Negroid, especially since it's possible to alter the physical characteristics of bones with surgery?
That is, race is not a social construct. It is an anthropological classification, just like sex.

How can we know? But to me, even with the hair and the tan, she looked Caucasian.
I think she is going to go for being "transracial." She thinks she is black therefore she is.
"She also tweeted a picture of herself next to a picture of Caitlyn Jenner, with the caption “who are you to decide what is right for me?”"

I wonder if she will claim she was doing research for a "social experiment". Of course it would not be an IRB approved one. Uuuggghhh!
I'm deeply disturbed by this whole thing. She is manufacturing lies of hate crimes, discrimination, and social injustices that don't exist. People and students listened to her and believed the image she portrayed.
If nothing else, I think people have been trying hard to eliminate racism in the community - but her deception makes people feel duped. Did we not need to be little more open, accepting, checking and double checking our own biases and use more critical thinking skills?
What message did she really give in the long run? Work consistently to make sure your unconscious "white privilege" doesn't cloud your view, remember to check yourself to make sure you wouldn't treat a minority person any differently than a Caucasian one. But she uses fairy tales, smoke and mirrors and (makeup and hair extensions), claiming her own version of "hate crimes". She asked us to think of her history of struggles in a new light.
She is an artist but I think drama and plays are more befitting her. JMHO
http://www.krem.com/story/news/loca...sm-after-naacp-president-threatened/24665839/SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane City Council will recognize the president of the NAACP for her work in the community Monday night, especially after a threatening package was sent to her almost two weeks ago.
People are planning to gather outside of City Hall for a rally that is about to start to show their support for Rachel Dolezal and the NAACP at 5:30 p.m. Monday. They want to keep the spotlight on finding out who sent a package with threatening documents to the civil rights organization.
Some of the documents found inside a package sent to the Spokane NAACP last month contained threatening photos and racist images addressed to the local chapter president.
I think she is going to go for being "transracial." She thinks she is black therefore she is.

Spokane NAACP members organized a petition asking Rachel Dolezal to take a leave of absence.
"This is not about race. This is about integrity," said Kitara Johnson, a member of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP.
Johnson said many who signed the petition have planned to protest outside the local NAACP session on Monday.
I was just trying to catch-up on 2 recent pages on this thread when I saw this:

Good Grief...make it END!

I guess you're right. She's going for it. It can;t have escaped her that people keep bringing this up and trying to make a comparison. RD is good at capitalizing on things.
She is very bright but IMO, very very disturbed. She's a fraud and a con and personality disordered. She wanted attention but not just as a victim, but as the biggest and toughest victim of them all.
I mean, do you know she had people marching on the streets because of the hate crimes she seems to have made up?

It's sick. How do you betray a community that way? Your parents? Your own kid? That's what really makes me angry - the kid stuff.

Sorry for what you & siblings went thru. So hard to imagine but glad that you lend each other strength.

Dolezal declined to speak with The News on Saturday but previously suggested the timing of her white Montana-based parents’ media interviews about her racial identity was somehow connected to the Colorado case — and designed to damage her credibility.
