When I heard Himmelsbach say "He would have been a very logical suspect" I noticed a kind of jocular tone in his voice, and he had kind of a grin on his face, and then right away he was interrupted by Donahue who said something like " . .except for the phone call . ."

I think Himmelsbach has had a few strokes, unless he has always had that pattern of speech.

Hey Left, thanks for the scan of the sketch from '88. You have seen it up close and think it very much resembles Mayfield, right?

Hey Scandi

To be honest, I haven't noticed anything different with H-bach. He just seemed perplexed, and Donahue should have remained quiet and let H-bach answer the question. Donahue bailed him out. Maybe, I'm wrong, but H-bach appears the same as he did in 2001. He is remarkable, I think he is 82 now.

Yes, I've seen it up close, and compared it to Ted's picture from 1974. I see a lot of similarities. Same nose, same big cheeks, same hairline with the receeding bozo look, and the strong, big neck.

LIke I said, I would give the sketch a 8 out of 10 compared to Ted.

Another coincidence, the hijacker was rapidly balding.

It's amazing. We have three sketches, and neither sketch looks like the other sketch. What is going on? Are witnesses that poor, or was it the sketch artists.

Ya know, the witnesses can't even agree on the correct sketch of Cooper, but we are suppose to believe that everyone of them said Cooper was 5"10-6", exactly 47, etc.

Please:

Yep, but the stewardess thought the one from '88 looked closest, right?

OK, 5 min till IE is on!

Absolutely. Florence had that sketch made as part of an Unsolved Mysteries episode in 1988. She said it best resembled Cooper

Just watched Inside Edition

Excellent show. I thought it was done well. It was fair.

What do you think?

"That is a blatent lie'

Too perfect Left, in fact I started laughin' almost right away because they were doing such a great job!

Short, but very SWEET is what I would say, and definately got the point across. Denying he is D.B Cooper with a smile on his face he just can't hide.

Cheers to IE, I think they did a very fair report.

You were excellent Left, and be sure and tell Matt he also was perfect with his remarks. I could suddenly imagine people from all over the United States saying in unison, OMG, I remember that, and then hollerin at the wife saying, Hey Hioney you gotta see this. They've found D.B. Cooper!~

Couldn't agree more. He was sinking in his own verbage!
The most interesting thing about this is that the NORMALLY controlled, ALOOF H-bach had turned into a mushy Lobster-man when confronted w/ the video of Mayfield. His change of season spoke volumes!

Biggest question is why was a "re-sketch" necessary???

The most logical question for Flo or Tina would be ...how did these sketches come about? Swarthy? ???? /

This is what we'll find out. Flo-Tina and "Swarthy" will be very interesting...believe this :waitasec:

More is at work here I believe ;)

Good enuff' in my mind to ELIMINATE ol' Ted! Gosh he wasn't a shade over 5'8".

Yep Dominion, Perdaneer Perfect at 5'8" I would say, and a bit stocky too. I saw a new shot of him on IE and for his size he looked pretty hupsch to me!~

Oh dang, I missed I.E. What network is it on, and what time? I rarely watch network TV.

Wow

I"m so happy with Inside Edition. After how KOIN undercut us, I was amazed how fair IE was to both Ted and us.

Notice how Ted said "he could make the jump, but wasn't smart enough",

and now according to IE, Ted is admitting to calling the fBI. On KOIn, Ted said the FBI called him 4 times. Now, it's Ted that called h-bach.

Lastly, Ted's statement that we asked him to be Cooper. Wait till good ole Teddy hears all the tapes. Every conversation was taped. We didn't confront him until the Wednesday before it aired on KOIn. On that folks, has a perfect tape that is worth its' weight in gold.

Next, Ted will claim that we put the "acid" in his drink back in 1971, when I was just a tot.

I like Ted's statement, I'm not smart enough.

What about saying, "I would never hurt anyone, hijack a plane, or do anything illegal". Hmm. Strange answer.

Go to IE's website. They have a listing of their show, and what station and time it is on in different markets.

The only thing I noticed I would have changed Left was the statement that no one was hurt. That really isn't true as we know there was at least one real victim, the stewardess who has always looked over her shoulder for the last 36 years. That is real, and it hurts.

Thanks Scandi

You never know how they are going to edit the footage. I was worried how they would spin it.

Funny, back in 1971, h-bach said that Mayfield told him the hijacker was a "fool, and would have died during the jump". Hmm, funny how the story changes when the heat is off.

that is Matt. I will hit him over the head the next time I see him.

No, his point was there was no physical violence, no deaths, and that Cooper was a folk hero at the time.

Trust me, Matt knows more than anyone the damage Cooper did to both Florence and Tina.

Thanks, I'm not one for attention, but, in this case, I am proud of the show, and how we were represented.

Actually, I didn't want to go on the air on KOIN, it was Matt's job. But, KOIN insisted that both of us be on tv. So, I went along with it.

LC, what about Tina and Flo? With National exposure it would seem much easier to get this tape in front of them. This would put the nails in the coffin!! What do you think??

If they saw the tape, they would certainly be able to say, nay, yes, or I dont' know.

However, neither one is exactly media friendly at the moment. It's not like I could pick up the phone and call them. They are scared, and I think only the FBI should approach them, or a professional organization.

But, yes, a positive id could certainly heat things up.

Ps Neither of them was exactly happy that we found them. They are tired of the case. And, if we could find them, then so can Cooper, the media, etc. So, we kind of inadvertently and unintentionally took away their idea that they were unable to be located. In other words, they are semi-hiding.

pss Let me think about it. I just might make a copy of the tape, and mail it to both of them. Let me sleep on it

here is from IE website

cooper.gif
D.B.COOPER?
It may be the most daring crime in American history. A man calling himself D.B. Cooper hijacked a plane, demanded $200,000 in cash and four parachutes, and then jumped off the plane somewhere in the mountains of Washington State. A bit of the money eventually turned up, but the Mr. Cooper never did. Now, as INSIDE EDITION reports, two amateur investigators think they've found him, but he says it's not true..

FARRAH'S NEW TREATMENT
The recurrence of Farrah Fawcett's cancer has reportedly prompted the former Charlie's Angel star to try an aggressive new form of treatment. INSIDE EDITION explains how it works.

Leftcoast and his friend have done an amazing amount of investigative work on the DB Cooper mystery.
I know left from another thread and I have never posted in this thread.

I have read this thread all the way through and there are numerous worthwhile contributions.
My interest was raised enough to read the whole story of the hi-jacking of the plane etc.

I really hope someone in authority has the courage to use all the terrific work done on this case and carry the investigation through to its logical conclusion.

Well done to leftcoast his friend and all of you who have given support.
