Thats not the guy in the original post!!

Here is another article confirming the story about the Wendy's.

I guess it's possible that he really thought the best thing to do was get her somewhere safe? But surely anyone knows that you should contact the police to report finding a missing child. On the other hand, if he had evil intentions, it seems incredibly ill-advised to walk into a business with witnesses and cameras and identify yourself as not belonging to the child.

To be very clear, the following are complete speculation, not social media rumors, I'm just trying to think of what could make sense: but if the man had some kind of mental disability or cognitive impairment that could explain how he would be genuinely trying to help and still do something so completely wrong. Or if he were a recent immigrant from a country in which you would not rely on the police for something like this?

I'm trying really hard to think that this guy was a Good Samaritan. Maybe he was so caught off guard by all of this and acted quickly without thinking. He may have even taken the child to his home and immediately called the police. He kept her from being hit by a car or taken by a horrible human.JMO. I'm going with this until someone tells me otherwise. I need this. Ha. Someone does need to be investigated for child neglect here barring some unfortunate emergency circumstance occurring to this baby's family.

I am hoping he is just a really dumb Good Samaritan. Like my mom/GF/wife will know what to do. Get her home, call 911. In this day and age it would be really dumb to go into Wendy's, get recorded, have witnesses know you found a kid, then try to abduct the child. Good intentions, not so smart...

Police said the girl had wandered out of her home and into the area of a local Wendy's, where the suspect found her. He went into the restaurant and asked if her parents were inside, and when told no, he took the girl and drove off with her.

I am on the same page. Hope he just didn't think it through. For all we know, the cops found him so fast because he got her home to call 911? Hey, I found a kid, didn't know what to do. Left my cell phone at home. Etc.

I'm also hoping nothing sinister was going on at home and it was just a case of her learning to open the front door while the supervising parent was in the bathroom or something.
