Now I'm more confused than ever! I'm keeping my eye on this one.

I dont see how the baby could have died from smoke inhalation because surely as soon as he went into the pit, he started to burn too.....this story is puzzling and Oh God what agony that poor baby had to have been in and no one heard a thing

Plus if this happened near midnight WHY did the mother not have this baby in bed rather than outside......it makes no sense!!

IIRC, I think in one of the earlier links it said that the mom was on the couch with the baby who was crying...the dad said he would take him outside with him.

I haven't seen that clarified or answered anywhere in the media. And LE is refusing to state how far the bench was from the fire pit.

I'm not trying to be funny at all. Maybe the dad jumped up really quick, and in his impaired state he forgot the baby was on his chest. He then went inside to look for the baby unaware that he had just inadvertently launched him into the fire pit. I've seen people in this state wake up, and they can jump up quite suddenly. Just a thought.

Could the baby have slowly died from smoke inhalation if he was too close to the fire pit while on dad's stomach? I don't know, just guessing here. If that happened, he would have been dead when he fell into the pit, hence, no screaming.

Was it hot inside their house, so they slept outside? (Although why the fire pit then?!)

Do you remember the case about the 12 year old girl who was tortured and murdered by another group of girls a while back? her COD was smoke inhalation-even though the smoke was generated from her own body burning. The heated air causes suffocation.

The dad went inside to check with his wife to see if she had the baby. There is no telling how long it took the to find the baby after they started looking. Plus we have no idea how big the fire was. They can be pretty large.

Okay for the sake of discussion. Have you ever smelled burning or burned flesh? That is a smell that you would know was out of the ordinary. How could he be laying by the firepit and not, at a minimum, think WTF is that smell

My uncle was blown off his boat from a boat fire and the smell of the burned flesh is horrible.

Even if the father offered to take the baby outside to stop him crying, I dont understand why the mother wouldnt have gone back out as it got late to bring him back in for bed instead of leaving him out there at midnight with a father who had been drinking

Wouldn't it be sad if they both had passed out? Sounded like they had a party that day/night.

Thanks Sweetie. My point being though that the smell of burned flesh is an unforgettable odor. Even if you had never smelled it you would know something wasn't right:sick:
