He would need a passport to get into Canada. Would he be someone eligible for a passport?

I'm not sure? I haven't read back on this thread to see his arrests, other than what Huckabee pardoned. :furious:

If he went into the woods and crossed he would not need any passport. He would never make it across a check point passport or not.

 Of course he couldn't! The Canadians are on high alert, I'm sure! Don't know why I even speculated about the passport!

I think this will haunt him. He granted clemency far too much and this is the second time that something high profile has been linked to that. The first involved a cousin of Clinton who got out under Huckabee and went on to kill someone. Huckabee supposedly had influenced the parole board but denied the actual clemency.

But you are right smart blonde, I have to place blame on the killer. I don't even understand how he got out last week much less years ago.

BBM
Wayne DuMond isn't Clinton's cousin. His 17 y.o. victim in 1984 is Clinton's 3rd cousin.

I hope they catch this monster.

Huckabee is never going to "own" that he was the one who ultimately granted this moron clemency. He's going to deflect the blame to everyone else who had anything to do with the process. That's just how Huckabee "rolls." Trust me, I live in AR, unfortunately.....That's not to say there are others who should share in the blame for this moron getting clemency, but Huckabee ultimately signed the order.

I don't know whether it was Huckabee or Tucker that let Wayne DuMond out, but DuMond went on to rape and kill at least two other women in Missouri after he was let out. The interesting thing to remember about DuMond, is that NO ONE in AR would agree to let him live in their county. So, he had to come up with a plan that would move him out of state or he had to stay in prison. Unfortunately, Missouri took him and he went on to commit more crimes. He died in prison awhile back.

Thanks, I couldn't remember DuMond's name.
It was Huckabee....

I agree that Huckabee needs to at least acknowledge his responsibility here. His statement is very clearly pointing the finger at everyone but himself. MC, ultimately, is the one responsible for this horrible masscre, but what is the point of our prison system if those in charge of it don't use it to make sure we are safe from the most dangerous of criminals? If violent criminals get a hefty sentence for their crimes only to be released after serving less than 10% of it, what is to keep them from repeating their offenses? Parents that "ground" their children for a month for misbehaving and then let them off after only a weekend can't expect their children to respect the rules. Same goes for violent offenders. If a person commits a violent crime...rape, murder, child abuse, kidnapping, armed robbery, etc., they should automatically be required to serve their full sentence, regardless of their age at the time of the offense, PERIOD. Violent behaviors don't just disappear from a person's psychological make-up. If a teenager displays violent behaviors, they aren't likely to go away just because the teenager has become an adult. Quite the opposite. Violent criminals don't change, especially when there is no incentive for them to. Their violent behaviors only escalate, more often than not. JMO

Seriously, why was this animal even given the option of bail for his most recent stint in jail, if he was a parole violator? I realize more and more everyday how fluxed up the system really is. I thought it was put into place to protect law abiding citizens and to rehabilitate problem citizens. Well, I don't feel very safe and have seen very little rehabilitation! I'm thinkin' it's time to fix it.

No, but this appears to have been planned out and maybe he planned out an escape route too. If he does make it to Canada which is not that far then they would have a heck of a time getting him back. They said the guy was very paranoid before all this with cameras on his house and stuff so not a real stretch for me to imagine he had researched crossing the border at some time.

I don't think it would be hard to extradite him from Canada, except they'd have promise not to ask for a death penalty.

Have they ever said if the person who went to a Seattle-area emergency room yesterday with a wound (they were not sure of what type) but then left before a surgeon or LE arrived, is suspected to have been Clemmons?
