I wonder if the truck was locked?
I haven't found anything on that. I'm having difficulty even finding out if there was anything mechanically wrong with the vehicle if that was him that sighted walking in the area.

All three of these cases are suggestive of an acute onset mania. Weird.
Took the thought right out of my head. I don’t think we know if he has mental health dx (like BPD) but this sounds like it could very well be a manic episode.
Really hoping they find him soon.

They haven't said anything, but I'm sure we'll learn that the truck is in good working order.

He drove to a strange location, apparently smashed his phone at that location, and walked away.

So apparently I haven't missed it. I'm surprised that in that transcript of the press conference the reporter didn't ask the question about the vehicle.

Concussion should not be overlooked as a triggering factor for sudden onset of strange behavior in a football player.

Also possibly steroids?

Oh no. A young, attractive, athlete on his way to football practice just suddenly abandons his truck and walks away , down a highway and into a state park. Hopefully we will hear more information soon ... like ... did he have a girlfriend? and if so, when did they last communicate and what was the context of their conversation? What was his recent demeanor, a happy kid looking forward to school and the upcoming football season? Or something going on in his personal life that he was working through. How about his general health? He is a good looking young fellow and obviously an outstanding athlete. I sure hope he is found safe and returns to his family who is clearly traumatized by his unusual behaviour and disappearance. Prayers all around. Moo

So he uses his phone at 5:10 and at 5:30 pm his vehicle is found and reported to LE.

Within a 20 minute period his phone is smashed and his vehicle is abandoned. That’s a very short window.

Any stops on his way to practice ie, gas, food, etc?

His phone was last used at 5:10. It doesn’t mean that he was the one using the phone at that time. It could be a call made by someone who was ditching the car to arrange to be picked up nearby. Smashing the phone might be an attempt to erase that call or stop the phone from being tracked. Did he stop to pick up someone else for practice? Was the person seen walking him or a teammate who would have been wearing similar practice clothes? Could it just be a coincidence that someone was seen walking while wearing similar colored clothing? Could he have run into a bad situation when stopped for gas or at an ATM somewhere? Could he have been carjacked? There are many possibilities aside from him having a mental breakdown and wandering off although there is a good chance that is what happened.

Well, good police work. It seems, there were many witnesses who reported sightings of Gabe, or boys resembling him. The community mobilized fast, the search dogs, FBI got involved, too.
Whatever made Gabriel leave his destined route might look different to all of us, but it was serious enough. I don’t think it was a mental health crisis as such, but whatever it was, I hope, nothing that a good therapist, it he is involved early, won’t help resolving. Good luck to the family. Thurston county police! In the time of need, you are the best.

After following Kiely Rodni and now Jolissa Fuentes it is good to have this news.

Thank goodness he's been found safe. I thought I was going to wake up this morning to news of his body being found in the state park.

As the mom of a teen boy, I woke up thinking of this young man and hoping he would return home safely. So, so glad for good news.

Oh wow so happy to see this! I did not think this case would have a happy ending.

A second young man suffering a sudden onset mania within a few miles of one another and disappearing is coincidental. A third is spooky. I'm glad he's been found. I wonder if he might possibly be able to provide any insight on where the other two may be.
