Police search for missing Olympia woman, 60

Olympia police Lt. Paul Lower said Doyle’s family members contacted Olympia police after she didn’t show up to a couple of family functions. Two detectives are on the case.
Lower said it was clear when talking to Doyle’s family that it was “very unusual” for her to miss family events.

James Stidd is behind bars in Thurston County after troopers arrested him in eastern Washington early Thursday morning. Police said they can link Stidd to the disappearance of 60-year-old Gail Doyle...

Police said Stidd isn’t providing detectives with any information about Doyle's whereabouts during their investigation...

Stidd was booked into the Thurston County Jail on second-degree murder and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. He could face a judge as early as Friday.

Oh dear My thoughts are with Gail's family and friends, but especially her kid(s). It's awful enough that he (allegedly) killed her, but nothing could ease the pain and horror of finding out these details. I honestly feel sick to my stomach.

Family of missing Olympia grandmother: Not knowing is 'nightmarish'

The family of missing Olympia grandmother, Gail Doyle, say they are anxious to find out what happened to her.
James Stidd is accused of killing her and dumping her body.
A week ago, her family was told her remains had been found, then a few days later they discovered it was not her. For loved ones, not knowing has become unbearable.

James Stidd pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges that he killed missing 60-year-old Lacey grandmother Gail Doyle.

His trial is set for Aug. 15.

Stidd is charged with second-degree murder and unlawful possession of a weapon. Stidd, as a felon, cannot legally possess firearms.
