There was a posting yesterday on the facebook page set up for him saying LE has been tracking his bank account and there has been no activity. Not a good sign. :waitasec:

Agree, that is a bad sign. Wonder if he had opened any new credit card accounts in the days/weeks before he went missing ?

I’ve read he went to the Wells Fargo ATM across from his apartment before he disappeared. I wonder how much he took out. I think the daily maximum you can take out at an ATM if you are a Wells Fargo customer is $300-$500 unless you call the bank and ask them to make an exception. That much money really wouldn’t get him far unless he took a Greyhound somewhere. This is such a weird case, it’s really like he disappeared into thin air.

He actually made a deposit at the bank the night before he went missing, not a withdrawal. 😕

That is very telling. jmo

I believe the police have looked into his cell phone records, but can only tell the family that the cloud was accessed on Wednesday (the day he disappeared) and the last ping was on Thursday.

Really glad to hear that the police have likely looked at his cell phone records. By the way, in a Facebook post, it says, "... a friend POC ...": POC as in "point of contact"? At first, I was excited, thinking they were a friend's initials, but probably not :(.

To me, the bank deposit has two possible interpretations:

1. Jeremiah was going about his life normally and just taking care of everyday chores.
2. Jeremiah was getting his affairs in order as people often do before suicide.

I suspect it's the former, but one never knows.

It's so hard to make sense of the few facts in this case ...

Please elaborate

Because it likely means that he was just following the usual routines of his life. jmo

Originally I thought that J. had taken off for a while, but as time passes it is becoming more possible that something happened to him. Would like to see the videos of him, was he alone ?

The latter actually causes everything to start to make more sense for me.
One thing that stood out to me is that his bed was made when friends checked his apartment. I know that everyone is different but a 34 year old bachelor making his bed before leaving seems unusual. Or maybe I just know sloppy bachelors.
Also the not giving his sister a solid answer on when he'd be visiting for his nephew's birthday.
The coming in at 12:07 am when he was supposed to work hours later.
The heavy use of the cloud contacts and bookmarks the day he disappeared.
And of course the lack of bank card use and cellphone use since that day.

Only I think he would have been found by now. It's an urban setting, but jmo And why didn't he leave the laptop in his apartment ?

Perhaps there was damaging info on it that he wanted to "take with him"
The 2 missing software engineer cases I came across while researching, were suspected suicides. They were found sometime later in the water.

Here's the missing Microsoft guy

Okay, I'm not sure how to add a link here

I don't necessarily think he would have been found by now - there's so much water around Seattle - and bridges and ferries.

The laptop not being in the apartment is what makes me think it's not suicide UNLESS the laptop was somehow tied to all this. I knew someone who committed suicide who really seemed to love life - and doted on his wife and children. When he was found dead, no one believed it could be suicide, but he had been cheating his clients and it was about to come out, and I guess he couldn't bear the shame. I can think of a couple of different scenarios where things might be on the computer he could get in trouble for. Not likely, but possible.

The computer is often referred to as his work computer. Did he have another one?

He used it for work and personal. It was the only laptop he used.

I had also wondered about what things might have been on his laptop. But, if that was the case, he could have just reported that it had been "stolen", and tossed it in the Puget Sound. I wonder if we are giving too much weight to the fact that he reported to his supervisor that his laptop had crashed, and he fact that he hadn't given his sister a firm arrival date...we are seeing these things through the lens of his disappearance. jmo
We don't know him, or his quirks.jmo

I would like to know : what exactly did he do at Oracle ?

Another question : J. was 34. Any serious relationships recently ? He seems upbeat and outgoing.Wonde how he might handle rejection ? jmo

From what I’ve read about Jeremiah, he seemed like a happy social guy. Has anyone given any indication that he was depressed at all? It is possible he went somewhere to commit suicide and hasn’t been found yet. There is another person from Seattle that disappeared about five years ago, I think her name was Mariela Perez, and it is believed by many that she committed suicide but her body has never been found. Searches were done in Discovery Park because she googled info about it right before she disappeared and was headed on a bus in that direction but her body was never recovered. Being very familiar with the park, I believe her body could very well still be there as it is such a huge area and searchers weren’t allowed to search some areas as they are considered protected land.

I do not know exactly what his responsibilities at Oracle included.
He did not have a girlfriend and has not in recent memory.

Tk1 you sound like a relative or friend of Jeremiah’s, I just wanted to say how sorry I am that you have to go through this, I can’t imagine how hard it must be not knowing where he is. I’m glad you came on here, there are some great sleuthers here who may have some good suggestions. I live not far from Jeremiah so this hits close to home, I’ve been praying for his safe return since I heard about his disappearance.

Thank you. He is my (half) sister's (half) brother. I did not grow up with them but I am close to my sister now. Trying to find ways to help I stumbled upon WebSleuths and saw how brilliant you guys were. I've been here everyday since.
