What a wonderful thing to do!

Also from the article:

Hoang's family and volunteers distributed flyers in the Kirkland area on Wednesday, and a community search has been organized for Thursday night.

The Autism Foundation is asking the community to take 15 minutes at 8 p.m. to step outside and call out for Jonathan. They ask the public to call out loudly, "Jonathan, we're here to help you!" and walk around for 10-15 minutes, checking front yards, backyards and nearby properties.

It feels a bit nitpicky of me with such a noble goal, but I wish they'd also shout things like "Jonathan, come see me!" or "Jonathan, come say hi!" Saying "We're here to help!" certainly could be added in, but could backfire if for some reason he doesn't realize he needs help. Which of course sounds improbable from our perspective, but I've had clients get stranger ideas.

I believe the fb page help us find Jonathan Hoang is ran by the family so we can discuss.

The recap where they discuss the vanished podcast gives some details I hadn’t seen or missed before: Log into Facebook

Worrisome points prior to him leaving:
  • He never leaves without a hooded jacket and did not have one as they were all left at home
  • He did not take his phone
  • He took his iPad which he doesn’t take on his walks
  • Apple has not complied with the Subpeona
Worrisome items from after he left the home
  • “An extensive SAR effort the first week of his disappearance indicated that Jonathan never left the pavement” and notes the extensive amount of searches drones dogs etc
  • The last ping was the street in front of his house. Why if he was just wandering or walking?!
  • The family reviewed the surveillance of the only entry/exit point of the cul du sac and he is not seen leaving, only vehicles - so he didn’t leave off the pavement or walk out of the neighborhood on pavement either?!
Guys I thought he had just wandered but now I’m feeling more worried there is something more to this. If he had to leave in a vehicle is it possible he was talking to someone on the iPad and left with them? He somehow got away and tried to get he but ended up at that Kirkland address?

No coat + garden clog type of shoes + ipad missing but not phone make me think that someone rang the door and asked him to help them with something at the curb or in their car or something.

On The Vanished podcast his sister read some texts from him and shared a lot more about his level of independence and communication.

As far as I know his clothing description got updated. He wasn't wearing clogs, but sneakers.

I think he left in a car and got dumped away from home.

Which would make sense but he wasn’t on camera (that’s been reported) until later. I need to check the timeline for that.

Also weird that night is that he slept in another room that typical so that seems part of the story line here

I feel like I'm going to word this poorly but hopefully someone knows what I mean -

Parents often tell their kids to "look for the helpers" if they're in trouble - a trusted adult they recognize, a mom with kids, etc. Did Jonathan have any trusted helpers in the Kirkland area? Is it possible he got out/got lost/was kidnapped/left his safe home base in some way, ended up far away from home, and is now trying to seek out a helper or get to an area that is familiar, like a doctor's office or therapist or sports arena or some other place he may associate with trusted helpers?

IMO, listening to both episodes & reading this thread (including clicking on/reading links), it seems like something big is being left out.

Curious what you mean. What do you think is being left out?

I have no clue, that's my point. For whatever reason, it just seems there's something the family isn't saying and/or the police aren't saying. Something that would make you say "oh, ok, now I get it."

Like he didn’t leave on the road or off the road so…

I kind of got this feeling too. If the police are so adamant that they don't need to investigate, do they know more than the family and public do? It seems very odd how blasé they're being about it, especially because Jonathan's parents have guardianship. I don't think the family know more than they're saying though.

I thought it was interesting that his mom (or sister?) on the podcast noted that she works in Kirkland! That adds a point to my theory I posted earlier in the thread about Jonathan potentially heading towards Kirkland because it's somewhat familiar. Even though on the podcast they said he might not know she works there, I think that autistic adults and children pick up on far more than they may make known.

If it was really him captured on camera on what, July 5th multiple times, that is extremely odd the police aren't looking into it

What do you mean he "wasn't on camera until later"?
Me Recapping and then explanation is last point here:

- he went missing March 30/March 31 with none of the items he typically takes with him in autism rigidity and took something (iPad) that he doesn’t usually take
- extensive Search teams including dogs concluded that he didn’t leave the payment
- he also didn’t leave by walking out of the community on the pavement
- July 1 - a young man that is wearing what Jonathan last had wore and was making similar stim noises was seen in video at a similar address only 45 minutes away and down the road from that area trying to use a porta potty.

like I said up thread I was really hoping he wandered but this feels much more nefarious. He likely had to leave in a vehicle. So imo:
- he was talking to someone on the iPad and met them outside
- as someone else mentioned, someone came to the door
- family isn’t fully honest but they seem to be amazing so I don’t feel it’s this
- went outside and was out of routine so had a bit of meltdown and someone picked him up

Either way he ether got out or was dropped in an area 45 minutes from home.

I struggle to believe that’s all of the video they have of him from his neighborhood or where he was seen in July.

Something in the story is missing.
