So they didn’t name this guy, didn’t hold him on some minor infraction, he’s clearly free to go and he did. Her poor family!

Thank you! ‘Quick’ sounds disturbingly subjective, unless it has a legal definition as a specific time of gestation.

Disturbing, because it’d be hard to prove, even in cases where it applied.
It would be especially hard to prove since KC never had the ultrasound. Imo
I had to listen 3 times to make sure what she said. I thought maybe the reporters don't know where he is. She DID say "officials do not know where the man is".
He wasn't being watched? What happened? He slipped away?

Does the gf have a vehicle?

Sure doesn't look good for the guy if indeed he took off.
They probably asked LE where he was and they said they didn't know at this time. That doesn't mean they have lost track of him. I think they are taking the time to put the case together before they make an arrest. Imo

Whoa! How could they not know where he is? He is a POI and they weren’t keeping an eye on him?

Wow!
That's what I thought too! But I've decided it's not that easy. Remember the Gannon case? (Of course we do.) Leticia pulled some real stunts when noone was looking. Obviously LE can only do so much! This isn't their only case and there are only so many of them. And they're not superhuman.
Almost, but not quite.

ETA perhaps they just said that to disarm the guy.jmo

I know things have changed, but listening to the search warrant press conference again one response was that the possible POI was at another residence.

If the person was at another residence, and they knew the location, surely they have been keeping tabs on him (and close associates). I’m not sure I trust a news source stating that his whereabouts are unknown.

JMO and maybe I’ve missed an official statement.

Can someone enlighten me as to why they aren't saying his name? It's public record who owns the house they searched and the community probably already knows who the guy is. Just trying to figure out at this point why LE thinks it's necessary to not name him.

  • #606
I am worried they didn’t find enough evidence, that the searches aren’t quite panning out as they had hoped.
If this is the case, I’m not surprised they haven’t named names and don’t have a tail on people living in the house. Moo

Let’s hope this is not the case!

It's going to be bad news for Kassanndra and her family if they don't name him soon, imo. I think about how LE was so on top of missing Sydney Sutherland and believe in all my heart that is why they caught her killer so quickly. I'm worried that too much time has passed for Kassanndra. The only break that LE has had was finding her car and now I'm wondering if that was really a break other than LE knows she's really missing, if there were any doubt.

feels like something that was so strong just two days ago seems to be rolling to a stop.
Maybe that’s exactly what they want him to think though!! We’ve seen it before when they fool everyone to fool the POI. Maybe they do have a tail on him and wanna see where he goes if he thinks they’ve let up!
Hopeful

Good point, Dre. Just frustrating and the sheriff did say in his facebook post yesterday this was going to be a slow one.

He hasn’t been charged with anything, it’s pretty standard for police not to publicly name someone who is under suspicion but hasn’t been charged with anything.

Depends on how big he is, guy's in the military carry their fellow men on on their backs along with all their equipment and do sprints and runs during training.
Not sure if this guy is military or a big guy, but I don't think he would have gotten far moving her by himself. Maybe from the house to the vehicle or the vehicle to the woods, that type of thing. IMO, he probably moved her in her own car, got rid of her, then abandoned the car, and either walked back home or called the gf for a lift. That's the easiest scenario for one person to get rid of all evidence at once. The house was probably the site of an altercation resulting in her either being injured sufficient to lose consciousness or worse. I imagine they are trying to piece all of this together to make the timeline as airtight as possible before the arrest. May take a bit of time due to forensics, two vehicles to process, an entire house, phones, computers, etc. Meanwhile they are trying to locate KC. You can bet she is somewhere along the route between the house, the car dump site, and phone ping. All my opinion.

I am talking about the media and others? It's all public record if I'm not mistaken. They certainly could say the home is owned by "such and such" since blah, blah, blah. Saying his name may trigger a memory, jmo. I know LE is checking him out but he's not cooperating so there's no telling where he went, how he was acting and what he did during the first days of her missing.

Do we know if he is the person who owns the house? Revealing his name might result in a lot of speculation or rumors, which can hinder the investigation. I think if LE needs help from the public they will ask for it. It seems to me they already have plenty of evidence and are just taking the time to put the pieces together. We may not know the circumstances around her disappearance but I bet LE has been tracking his movements, analyzing the cell phone data and possibly talking to witnesses who were around him in the days before and after KC went missing.

Imo

I agree on the face of it, saying they don't know his location is concerning. But I bet they do, just don't want to say it publicly.

Also, from the beginning it seemed like PCSO knew this case was going to be difficult. Hence calling in the FBI Forensics team. If they have no body, forensics are going to tell the story and get a conviction.

Hopefully they are able to push any evidence found, to the front of the line at the lab. Regardless, it will take time to get the results.

Don't lose hope yet!!

Ok, I would like that. Sorry, I thought the rule was just to not link anything.
I didn't know there were private threads on here.

Because if he is innocent and they name him, he will be harassed until its publicly announced that he is innocent. Anyone with his name in the area will also be harassed for having the same name. Most people wont go out of their way to find his name and instead wait for the media to leak. They are not as invested in it as much as the forums or other groups are. It may cause him to flee elsewhere from the harassment. The cops and the media have no duty to state more then once if he is innocent. We are seeing the same story told over and over by different news outlets that this is the house where the warrant is served. Do you think all of those news agencies will run a full story to say he is innocent? I think they would run it once and hope everyone watches.

Im hoping we get an update today to say one way or the other that the cops have decided to persu him or to leave it be.

I've never known the media to really care, they love a sensational headline. Of course we all want an update, I doubt that it will be he's cleared or they are still investigating him update though, more like he's been arrested or something has been found. JMO

I didn't know there were private threads on here.
There are private conversations among members, not private threads. Discussion of things that can't necessarily be posted on the main thread because of WS rules. It helps when there's a lot of rumors going around and you are trying to sort it out.

If the media publicly names him he can turn around and sue them if he's innocent, that's why the don't do it.
