I totally agree with you that this is certainly a plausible scenario, but come on! Wouldn’t the father of the baby and his gf realize that they would be the first viable suspects? Certainly they HAD to have thought of that. Right?? JMO
For those of us who have a non murderous brain, absolutely! However, I guess the same principle could be applied to every husband who killed his wife and every parent whose child “let themselves out in the middle of the night” because the back door was left open. Had they considered they would be prime suspects, they wouldn’t have committed murder.

The other scenario could be that this wasn’t premeditated - perhaps KC gave him an ultimatum, leave the girlfriend or I will tell her everything? Or perhaps KC just said something in general that he didn’t like.

Peronally I don’t think the girlfriend is involved. I think if this was premeditated, the baby’s father did this so that his girlfriend wouldn’t find out. JMO.

What if bd didn't know he was going to be a bd? They met, she told him and he freaked out. Maybe they were at their meet up spot. He had a bit of time to figure out what to do with her, when the missing reports started that is when he had to get rid of the car. I don't think her car was where it was found for very long. Which brings me to the question about the cars GPS, do we know anything about that? But back to my original point, we don't know that he had been told about the baby. Pretty sure that GF knows about it now though.

MOO. Something about the way this man is described as a "friend" makes me think KC was never in a boyfriend relationship with him. Maybe they had a small fling which ended and the pregnancy was a complete surprise to both?

The way KC's mom describes the situation makes me think the pregnancy wasn't planned or part of an ongoing relationship--more like an unexpected consequence.

Following this line of thinking, if there wasn't a relationship, there wouldn't be a reason for KC to meet with him often on romantic trysts, especially if he had a girlfriend. I'm leaning towards thinking that if she went to meet him or see him, it was a one-time thing. And the planning of such a meeting should be in her virtual data records (emails, texts, or phone calls).

MOO aside, a technical question: Would LE need a search warrant to access these since the phone is missing? Or could they just access her records as part of a missing persons investigation without naming a particular suspect?

MISSING PERSON - Kassanndra Cantrell, 33 yrs old, 5’7”,180 lbs., brown hair. Last seen morning of 8/25 when she drove away from her family’s home in Parkland in a white 2014 Mazda 3 sedan wi/ license plate AXV1638. Unusual for Cantrell to not return home or not to contact family.

On the day Cantrell went missing, friends believe she may have planned to go to a grocery store, but there have been no records of financial activity to verify that she went shopping. Detectives are concerned because Cantrell is pregnant & there has been no activity on her phone.

Detectives are asking area businesses to check cameras from 8:30 a.m. 8/25 to 11:55 p.m. 8/28.

From the Sheriff's Twitter account, multiple tweets by him and others in this thread.

I think there was a relationship at some point and he’s been coming and going between Kassanndra and current SO for a few years. If that’s the case, and she’s now pregnant, that’s a bad blood situation for sure.

the family have done really well to be discreet about his details, they’re clearly worried about the situation but aren’t whipping up any accusation or outrage over it. Credit to them for that.

I’ll be astonished if this isn’t as cut and dried as it currently seems to be.

“This is way out of character for her so we’re worried,” said Ed Troyer, spokesman for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

Cantrell’s friends believe she was heading to go grocery shopping the day she disappeared but there was no activity on her debit or credit cards.

Her cell phone hasn’t been used since she went missing, investigators said, but it last pinged off Vashon Island.

That prompted search teams to check Point Defiance Park Sunday for any sign of her.

The search in the park is set to continue Monday.

Cantrell’s Mazda 3 sedan was found Friday night parked in the 300 block of 25th Street East near the Interstate 705 overpass in Tacoma.

Detectives are scouring the area and asking businesses to check surveillance cameras for any sign of Cantrell or her car between Tuesday and Friday.

LE obviously treating this seriously.

“What I hope, worst-case scenario, is that maybe she was carjacked and she’s just hurt somewhere.” Smith said.

Smith said the last place Cantrell’s phone pinged was near a park where friends, family and community members gathered to search for any signs of Cantrell. She normally goes to that park to walk her two Chihuahuas, but she had left her dogs at home when she left the home that day.

“If she took nothing else, she would have taken her darn dogs because they’re her babies,” Smith told KOMO News. “There’s no reason for her to be there. It’s not a safe area, she wouldn’t be there.”

It’s not clear if they recovered her phone or any of her belongings.

MSM has gotten so lame, they are almost obsolete. Citizen journalism is way on top of things thanks to social media.

Anybody know if there’s a reliable online portal with Tacoma arrest info?
