The only way to get to the park is by ferry, so it shouldn't be too difficult to narrow down who was on the ferry during those 5 hours between leaving home and the last phone ping. However, there's still the question of the accuracy of the phone location - does it slowly track to that location during the 5 hours, or does it just appear there?

The unusual information about the pregnancy - cannot be confirmed by police, some sort of missing paperwork from a doctor confirming a first trimester pregnancy - does place the pregnancy at the centre of her disappearance. Perhaps she got dressed up, contacted a man that she believed to be the father, he didn't believe her or didn't accept it, things went south and the rest is history.

I have a 20-month-old so I have been pregnant fairly recently. I took a home test (2) and both were positive. I immediately contacted an ObGYN to get confirmation. They told me over the phone that if I needed proof of pregnancy for Medicaid or other benefits, they could give me a urine test in the office and give me documentation to provide to the state.
Thankfully I already had insurance through my husband’s job and we weren’t in a super tight spot financially. So I advised that I didn’t need proof of pregnancy.
At that point they just scheduled me for my first ultrasound which has to be done after at least 6-8 weeks. I was honestly taken aback since this was my first pregnancy and I felt like I should see a doctor right away.
The nurse explained that unless I had a history of miscarriage or something like that, I should just take prenatal vitamins, avoid alcohol and drugs, eat well, etc.
So IMO and IME it wouldn’t be unusual for a physician to schedule the first ultrasound appointment based on the patient having had a positive pregnancy test result. Tests these days are very rarely false positive. If anything it might show negative if it’s too early but the nurse told me that if a pee stick says you’re pregnant, congratulations! All IMO and Experience Only.

Respectfully, why would the Pierce County Sheriff's Dept Detective tell reporters they are working around the clock to find the 33 yr old pregnant woman if she is not pregnant?

MSM is reporting KC as "pregnant" -- I've not seen one report say KC is alleged to be pregnant or believed to be pregnant. You also don't need a sonogram if you're not pregnant!

KC and BD have reportedly known each other since they were teens-- more than half their lives. They are both over age 30 now and it seems to me that the only thing that's changed between them is that KC is pregnant. LE seems to think that's a good reason why KC is missing and believed to be the victim of a homicide.

Pregnant Wash. Woman Who Vanished Before Sonogram Is Still Missing, as Police Search Ex's Home

Sept 2, 2020

Police are now handling Kassanndra Cantrell's disappearance as a homicide investigation

During a press briefing Tuesday, investigators in Washington state characterized the Aug. 25 disappearance of Kassanndra Cantrell as "suspicious," noting the FBI has joined to assist in what is now being handled as a homicide investigation.

Pierce County Sheriff's Department Detective Ed Troyer told reporters that detectives are working around the clock to find the pregnant 33-year-old woman, who was reported missing by relatives on Aug. 27, a day after missing an appointment for her first sonogram.

[..]

Troyer said officers were still searching areas of the county for any sign of Cantrell, who is a resident of Parkland.

He said a Pierce County Sheriff's Department SWAT team served a warrant at the home of Cantrell's ex-boyfriend Monday evening.

[...]

"We want to take a look at and do a deeper dive," said Troyer, noting the man whose home was searched dated Cantrell years ago.

"We did develop some new information that they have been around each other recently and that it wasn't just an ex-boyfriend from many years ago," said Troyer.

Cops search ex-boyfriend’s home after pregnant mom-to-be disappears before first sonogram appointment

Washington authorities were seen working through the night as they searched the home of a man said to be the ex-boyfriend of missing pregnant woman, Kassanndra Cantrell, NBC’s King 5 reports.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Cantrell, 33, of Parkland, was looking forward to her first sonogram, excited to see whether she was carrying twins, when she mysteriously vanished on August 25, a day before the ultrasound.

Cantrell ended up missing her sonogram appointment and has not been seen or heard from. There’s also been no activity on her social media accounts and none of her debit or credit cards have been used.

I mean ultimately she's as missing pregnant as not pregnant. It doesn't really matter and it's a red herring.

Even though her pregnancy status may or may not have contributed to why she's missing (we can make assumptions) it doesn't make her less missing if she's not pregnant. JMO

What is the obsession with having to know if she was pregnant, it is pertinent to LE in finding motive but the public does not need to know, it does not help us find her, why would they have to make an announcement?
Exactly! It isn’t very important to the investigation whether she was actually pregnant or not. The facts of what she TOLD people goes to motive and suspicion Etc. It really makes little difference if it’s true. But again, there were lots of details of multiple appointments, including the ultrasound she missed that her friend was to attend with her. So I feel confident that was checked out about 10 days ago. LE just hasn’t given updates since the 9/1? Briefing.

Bigger question is, does LE know location of POI who reportedly disappeared before the search of his property was completed? Has he done interview? Cooperated? Any confirmed KC Or vehicle sighting after the 8:44 am doorbell cam?

He may have had a reason to believe that he could not father children. So being accused of being a parent would create very hard feelings with him and the girlfriend.

In normal people that would not be enough to cause murder. I personally think there is another guy. Someone never mentioned to mom or others.

MOO

Ultimately, we need to find the killer, not the "biofather". Sometimes, the mother herself might be mistaken about the paternity. I think that revealing the relationship and inciting the anger of the girlfriend could, potentially, be enough for someone to fly off the handle with the dire consequences.

Is PCSO still giving updates or has it went quiet?

This entire case remains a mystery to me with a heck of a lot of unanswered questions, things we would normally hear. The go fund me account set up by the brother is not doing well at all which is somewhat unusual in a missing persons case. Perhaps because no one is really talking about it very much.

It's interesting that investigators have pointed out that the pregnancy cannot be confirmed. That's not something that investigators normally comment on. Normally, family announces that a missing woman is pregnant, no one comments
on the authenticity of pregnancy. It's presumed to be true, yet here we are left uncertain of this basic fact.

Not an obsession, a fact related to her disappearance.

I think the mother knows more than she is saying. I also have questions about the alleged pregnancy. And if she really was pregnant, who the father is. There are a ton of conflicting stories regarding the disappearance of the results. I honestly won’t be surprised which ever way it goes., even if there is another BD involved. And as far-fetched as it may be, if she decided to disappear on her own with help from someone else. That would be the best outcome and really isn’t one I’m taking quiet as seriously.

I question the so-called proof of pregnancy she took with her that day, whether it was a home test or actually a report from a clinic. Neither one proves anything regarding paternity and doesn’t seem to be enough to instigate a murder.

Men, if you hate having a child so much that you are willing to take your partner's, ex partners or fling's life then maybe don't have sex with them or use double protection. If these men don't want anything to do with the kids and woman and don't want to pay child support, maybe there can be a fund to help these women so they aren't put in danger as there will always be lowlifes and entitled scum.

Is it family annihilation? Man kills pregnant wife and tries to get away with it? It's a bit of a famous scenario, perhaps easier to get away with than other murders?

I don't think other people are considered when some people decide to kill or eliminate family. It seems more about personal plan than other people.

As in - one person got her pregnant so she turned to a high school love interest to help out?

Does the map have to be updated? For now, the phone is placed at Vashon Park on the Island, not the Ferry Departure dock to the Island.

Thank you! Paperwork for health care. That makes sense. Is there a timeline where doctor's provide the paperwork - such as after the first trimester, or right away? What sort of special care is available with the paperwork?

Ultrasounds are mandatory? You mention that an ultrasound is done at 6-8 weeks after positive test? Thank you so much! Don't people question the effect of the ultrasound on the fetus - another conversation.

This answers questions about why she had documentation about the pregnancy (missing), and why an ultrasound was scheduled at 12 weeks.

From ^^^ the quoted post...

That last bolded sentence makes me think that the bf told LE that he was 'just an ex-boyfriend from many years ago'....

And since then, they have probably seen texts or calls/messages showing that there was a more recent relationship, ongoing.

Noticing later that a document related to the pregnancy is missing - that's astute.

I too have questions about why police pointed out that the pregnancy cannot be confirmed.

Paternity is a big question other than ex-boyfriends and high school romances.

The detectives said that early on, in the very beginning of the case. Since then, they have described her as a 'missing pregnant woman.'

So I don't think that is in question anymore. JMO

Even though it’s rare, people do make up pregnancy. It’s really not bothersome to me at all that LE needed to establish proof of that. It 100% leads to motive when the poi has a relationship elsewhere. I think given the early stage in pregnancy it took them a bit extra time and by that point they didn’t feel they had to make announcements to the public... which has led us to wonder, but I’m sure there’s a lot they’ve figured out since the beginning of the month. I think they’re right on track. Moo

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

Speaking from experience I got the results showed it to my husband and that was all that was necessary before it went in the trash. That’s just me because I know others feel the need to keep them. It also seems to me that they would degrade over time. The report from a clinic is much more valuable to hang onto.
