wow, there must be people looking for her - is there anything on SM? No way to objectively confirm she ever made it to the lake IMO. all hearsay so far, no video, nothing? This is so sad...

I feel so bad for this poor woman. Out in the lake having fun on her Unicorn float, and then......we have no idea?

We can assume that she drowned. Yet, until she is found, we can't be satisfied with that answer. Not yet.

I'm not assuming anything.

I'm a coworker of hers. One of my other coworkers saw a snapchat picture of her on the float at the lake but that's it. Until they find her, I'm not satisfied with any assumptions.

I drove by the lake twice today in the afternoon and didn't see a search boat out, only recreational boats.

Welcome to WS @creepsy! Sounds like you may be a local, or just in the area today? Lena's disappearance occurred just as Crescent Lake's busy season picked up... It's being talked about frequently in Lewis County (Southwest Wa) & most times they've heard she drowned.

Thank God he is ok.
Do these floatation devices come with a warning? Honestly they look like something for the bath tub.

As I posted upthread, the product listings for a lot of these types of floats show people on them in open water, which is really silly IMO, since they really shouldn't be used in open water. There may be some sort of warning on the sheet of instructions, but who really reads those things for a pool float? I mean it's a novelty pool float, I would like to think it's common sense that these types of floats shouldn't be used in the ocean, but apparently for some people, (i.e. - the parents of the young boy) it is not common sense. Maybe along with the warning, manufacturers should include a disclaimer to inform end users that water is wet and fire is hot. lol.

Last update a couple days ago said that they were using an ROV to scan the lake for a body. If one doesn't turn up, then she must've gone or been taken somewhere. We'll see.

Sadly, that might not be the case. That lake, as we have discovered and discussed, is very deep in spots (and is not a "small lake"). If she has drowned in that lake, her body may not be found using the equipment available now IMO. Many cars and bodies (sorry) are found years, or even decades after same has gone into a deep body of water. It is not what anyone wants to hear but sadly (and gently) that may be the case.

Interesting and informative if not 100% applicable:

All that said, I am not at all convinced she is in that lake yet. My heart goes out to those who know and love Lena.

I thought these type items were novelty pool floats?

I think a warning needs to be put on these items.

Hope Lena is found soon.

bumping for Lena and those who are looking and want to find her... to those who miss her and those who love her... can't imagine...

Lena has been missing for a month now and no recent MSM updates in regards to SAR activity.

If you look at the labels the majority state "for pool use" or "for pool parties" but they'll need to add a better language. I used to laugh at the warnings on hair dryers about not using one in the bath or shower until some Russian internet celebrity a couple of weeks ago tragically electrocuted herself drying her hair while in the bathtub.

Since it’s a holiday - perhaps someone out on the lake or in the area might find a clue to locating Lena.

Lena must have been found - there is absolutely nothing in the news anywhere. She has people who love and care about her - are they not doing anything? Is there anything on SM?
