That strikes me as a very good possibility, the language itself is absolutely revealing. How many adults (the language suggests an adult to me) would have been in a position to have Lindsey over their house other than the parents of a friend? If it is her, it strikes me that this is another attempt to cast suspicion away from the circumstances of Lindsey leaving her friend's home. Hypothetically if KK, why not let Lindsey stay the night given her statements about the in home abuse?

ITA with you Maedchen, I did call the McCleary non emergency line yesterday. I just talked for a minute or so, and even tho I said my thing she didn't ask for my name or tele # which they always do. I got the distinct feeling she already knew what I was calling about. It was something in the tone of her voice and how she spoke to me. She did have to put me on hold to answer another call.

Just because it is a very small police force I don't think we should underestimate them. They have other agencies working with them too. And coming away from that call I made I knew instinctively they have to have a heck of a lot more than they are letting out. I'm thinking they don't want to spook the perp to put Lindsay in more danger than she is if she is still alive.

And I don't think we can give up hope yet as she could still be alive like Soulscape believes, but in great danger. xox

PS: This case reminds me of another in England last year. I'll look up her name. She was found alive after several weeks. She was walking home and vanished. She had been upstairs, cuffed to a bed all that time by I think a male relative who was a bit bonkers. A lady downstairs heard a girl crying I think and called the Bobbies and they stormed the house to find her hidden in a space at the end of the boxed bed frame. Turns out the mother and her BF had perpetrated this fake abduction to make some $$$$'s and are now both in the slammer for a long time to come.

By saying that I don't mean in any way the mother is involved. I don't think she is. But Lindsay could be held in a similar way, being kept alive. And if so I don't think it is very far away. It always seems to work out that way. IMO

Another thing I have noticed if you follow the trail of myspace pages you reach some very disturbing myspace pages.
We know that Twilight and disturbed are both Lindsey, Twilight has very few friends listed however disturbed's myspace is set to private therefore you can not view them. Disturbs myspace has been accessed recently, yet not twilights. But if you follow the list of friends from twilight to fiesty and own from there you can pretty much get an idea that Fiesty's friends would also be Lindsey's friend. A few that I followed from Fiesty's page is one of a boy who I can not believe a 13 year old is hanging around. The language is unbelievable, he talks about his brother who is addicted to drugs... Another girl states her mood as being sad and that her wrists really hurt.. WTH does that mean? If these Lindsey was hanging with these older teens who act this way there is NO telling what has happened or if they could have done something to her or helped her escape... If you have an oppurtunity, follow the myspace pages to thier friends you will see what I mean.

It is interesting that you mention the myspace trail. There was a posting of fistey's page from someone (another young girl) that read; "Lindsey's myspace said she was online im scared who was on hers." (don't know if that has been posted before, if so, sorry!).

Man, I really feel for all the kids involved, it sounds like they don't have much of a chance to just be kids.

Lindsey and her brother left to get to her friend's to see if Lindsey could sleep overnight. Brother and sis got into an argument, and a neighbor told him to go home. Lindsey went to friend's by herself and was told 'no' she couldn't sleep over. Left to go home and was last seen by a woman driving to work about 9:15 (3/4 ways home).

Mom began to make calls about 10:00 to find Lindsey (her car wasn't running), she soon joined the mom and dad of Lindsey's friend so she could search by car.

I don't know where the brother was at that time - nobody has mentioned it. Did he search also?

Seems that Lindsey disappeared around the gas station/bus stop that is reported to have had people around. Lindsey was not caught on videotape at the GS.

My question: What does a 12yo do with a 10yo so that no witnesses are around and NOBODY finds her? I can't imagine. TIA

I have thought the same thing. And after seeing him on the video (if that was him with the fishing pole), it doesn't look like he could really manage it on his own. He could hurt her, of course, but what he would do about it afterwards in the short amount of time he would have had just doesn't seem feasible to me either.

Earlier in the day, the search continued for Lindsey Baum, both in town and on nearby trails as searchers on horseback checked areas they could reach.

Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott says several tips have been received, and investigators would like to talk to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in McCleary between the hours of 8:30-10 Friday night when the little girl failed to return home from a friend's house.

CANS Alert Issued for 10 Year Old Washington Girl

Code Amber News Service (CANS) issued this Missing Endangered person Alert after the girl went missing on Friday evening (06-26) while walking home from a friends house in McCleary Washington. McCleary is a small town of about 1,500 residents and is about 15 miles west of Olympia. There is no evidence of foul play in this case but the FBI is joining the investigation and search today (Monday 06-29). The FBI will also be bringing in additional law enforcement personnel to help in the investigation and search. No Amber Alert has been issued in this case.

Lindsey J. Baum a 10 year old white female, 4' 9" tall, 80 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a gray or blue hooded pullover sweatshirt, with blue jeans and black shoes.

There is no suspect information at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Office at 360-249-3711 or dial 911.

Let me try again....

I have heard that there is a bus stop near the gas station, also that her mom and dad got a divorce and dad now lives in Tennesse. Could it be that Lindsey got on the bus to go to her dads, and in all the confusion of bus changes possably gotten lost? Does anyone know how to get a bus schedule from that bus stop. Is this an angle LE has looked at, or was this a local bus route?
If Lindsey was upset about the divorce, upset with her brother and got turned away by a friend she very well could have thought to go to daddy and gotten lost in a ll the confusion, it would also explain the dogs losing her sent if she got on a bus.

Exlnt thinking Butterfly! I bet there is a Greyhound bus that goes from Olympia, stops in the little towns, then Aberdeen, Hoquim and then bends up NW and hits the little towns going up the Peninsula to the Indian Reservation and Washington Coast. If so that bus would come back to Olympia the same way it went out, but if Lindsay got on that bus it would be amazing for her to time it so perfectly. I think she would have stayed all night at the friends house if she could have. But it is a possibility.

I'll call Greyhound and see what I can find out if they go into McCleary and what the time would have been for last Fri.

I find it hard to believe she wrote all of that herself at 10 almost 11 come next Tuesday. Even her bumper stickers were way out of range for her age, imo.

Where would she have gotten the money for a bus ticket? And wouldn't they think it is odd that a 10 yo got on a bus alone with no luggage?

That poster's username is mlachester. I've been trying to decipher the name. The first thing that popped in my head is Melissa Chester or perhaps Melissa in Chester. Do either of those names ring a bell for anyone?

Well, this is just my opinion based on LE's initial statements: She didn't have any money to pay for a bus ride and she didn't take her cell phone, plus the fact that they also reported today (and I'll have to go find the link) that her computer didn't provide them with any new leads either. She wasn't talking to someone about running away or planning it with anyone online.

One person who seems to keep sticking out to me is the one named Michelle, I believe, She is like 33 I believe and she appears to be much older, I wonder what her relationship is, she seems to be friends with many of this group...Her comment of I love you on Fiesta's comments makes me wonder is she family? and if she is family with Fiesty why is she friends with Fiesty's friends? Seems odd for a 33 year old to have so many younger friends.

I think if the brother did do something to her, then it wouldn't be that hard for him to keep her or her body hidden. All these adult searchers and adult police assuming that they are searching for an adult perp. it would be easy for the logic and stealth of a 12 year old to be under their radar.
It's not the first time that something has been too simple to see the answer to.

I'm still on the fence about the brother, I don't want to believe that he is involved, although it was my first instinct. It wouldn't surprise me though, to find out that he was.

Another thing I find odd, is that I have yet to really here a plea from her family... If they think she may have run away, why not assume she is watching TV and speak to her and say , to please come home call someone, your not in trouble we are worried we love you anything? and if they believe she was kidnapped why not a plea to the kidnapper I have yet to really here a plea for her return. I heard the I dont think if someone took her they would hang around and they could drop her off near a phone, so she could call, but that is not a plea. Why not say PLEASE bring my baby back home. Or anything like that? the mom and friends are acting like, a bike came up missing or something not a child and that leads me to one of two conclusion. Tjey are involved somehow or they believe she ran away and is doing this for attention.

I don't know my gut just tells me that she is alive, but that dont mean she is not in danger.

People do not just vanish into thin air. I heard tonight that there where no screams or anything, and that came from a nieghbor who was in between both homes they would have heard something.

Not at all. When my dd was a teen, I was always on her and her friends myspace pages to keep an eye on everything going on there. I also made certain I had complete access to all of her pms, emails, ims, etc.

Hi SS, So far I don't think the bus stops in McCleary. I Googled Greyhound Buss + McCleary Wa and nothing popped up. I thought she had no money or cellie with her. I might be confusing that with another case tho.

It is so funny tho what did pop up and I laughed so hard. Pp 14 from this thread was listed there, about the possibility of a Greyhound bus stopping in McCleary. LOLOLOL Man, that was fast!
