"Muddy Water" could be Mud Bay just west of Olympia...101 goes right over it.

Only thing I can think of west-south west of McCleary are Malone, Brooklyn, and Raymond...all of which are kind of out of the way.

Grisdale got dismantled a few years back. There are still a few foundations, but not much else.

And not in reply to this specific post, but others before it, there are a lot of developed campgrounds a lot closer to McCleary than Bogachiel...Bogachiel is 140 miles away by car, and at least 60 as the crow flies.

OT: Looks like I'll have computer time, but can't leave the house due to answering phone calls...so I'll be posting but no in town sleuthing.

Edit: I believe Brooklyn is just about 20 miles from town as the crow flies...and someone told me the only access is a gravel road, so I suppose it could be muddy when it rains...

Quoting my own post...I had forgotten Artic, Willipa, and Vesta are also all between McCleary and Raymond...and Melbourne just south of Montesano could be considered W-SW...and isn't there some kind of slough just south of Monte that is pretty muddy looking all the time?

WW is a fisherman and counselor from the church that led a vigil for Lindsey. He took brother Josh fishing and I believe I read he has a cabin somewhere?

His cabin is in Eastern Washington, but anything is possible. He could have been half way there before anyone even started looking for her.

I think she is closer to McCleary though. I haven't ruled out WW. From what my husband tells me he is a "nice guy" who is very involved in the community.
(sounds like the perfect person to pull off something like this doesn't it?) so frustrating because I'd like to rule him out. Ya know?

The Blue Slough and Preachers Slough are both south of Monte. Popular fishing area so it's pretty accessible from just about anywhere along the road.

I'm wondering if someone could put up maps of each stretch leading to Bogachiel state park? This wetland runs along side of Mc Cleary. I'm a bit sadden as their are old logging roads everywhere. Sure wish this stetch could be looked into thouroly. This lg. area isn't looking good for Lindsey.

Here is a map of the Bogachiel area.

A-McCleary
B-Forks/Bogachiel (the state park is a little south of this area)
Blue line is the route to McCleary
Red line is the Bogachiel River (Starts in the Olympic Mountains and runs into the Quillayute river just west of Forks)

Hope that helps.

Hey Jen, hope you don't mind but I took your map idea and made an overlay for it so we can see just where WSW is. If I linked it right anyway.

Not a problem at all. I'm glad you thought of that.

Helpful hint: To post an image.. click the little yellow icon that looks like it has a mountain on it, you will get a pop up box in your browser where you can past the URL and it'll post to the forums.

But.. the way you posted it is fine. So please don't think I'm telling you "how to do something" or trying to show off or anything. :)

Eta: looks like WSW puts us into the South Monte area (Blue Slough maybe?) Hubby has a fishing trip tonight down there.. I'll have him keep an eye on anything out of place or different.

I'm no good at images and so on, but it might be nice if we could find a way to enlarge the map a little bit to just show the quadrant between west and south...that way we could see where the other small towns all are.

McCleary, I'll work on doing that.

There wasn't really much missing on that map.

I had to do it in two sections to get it all

Just got in. i'm thinking all sites referencing "BR aka Muddy waters as being by Mc Cleary is just a reference for.... Map miles/ I think Haddie Mc Fadden 19.6 mi. towards Montessano is much more realistic. At least there are branches to work off of. Going to slueth mud in Montessano! LOl!. I sure didn't mean to stir such sluething frustration when i awoke this morning. I'm glad to see all have taken Tubas post as something to look into as I did.

Well we get an average of 91 inches of rain in Montesano every year.

My yard is muddy pretty much all year around. You won't have any problems finding "muddy" areas in or around Montesano. LOL

I tried that Jen, it will load the image link and mark it as but it won't show when I post. So not sure what's going on. I'd like to be able to post in the forum, just doesn't work.

No problem about the advice. I am pretty easy going, you'd have to work at it to get me upset. hehe.

Ok, another way to do it is to put the [ I M G] before the URL and [ / I M G ] after it (remove the spaces)
or when you get the pop up box.. make sure the http stuff that is already in the box, is deleted. More than likely the problem you were having is from it being a double http in the image url.

Thank you Jen. I got to thinking, it would be interesting to see where those lines intersected. So that puts it almost squarely on the end of Preachers Slough Rd. As I remember that area is pretty dense with brush and the gravel road is pretty muddy a lot of the time. Of course, it's been years since I've seen it, so maybe it's in better shape now.

A closer look at the 20 mile radius/wsw thing.. we are dead center in the Chehalis River area.

In the pinpointed area on cybers map.. we have the Friends Landing area (wheel chair accessible camping/fishing/walking trails), numerous fishing areas on and off the beaten path, boat launches, lots of woods/logging roads, rural housing, not a lot of traffic.

we used to take our Toyota four wheel drive truck down there.. It's very muddy during the rainy season
