OMG I'm so sorry NMK
Hello everyone.
O/T: My 9 year old stepdaughter was raped by a convicted sex offender in Poplar Bluffs MO, last night. The reason that he was able to get close to her was that although he was convicted of similar crimes in the past, he was not required to register until his 18th birthday and he's only 17. So he basically got a free pass. Thank you MO lawmakers for making this possible.
It never ends.

I know you're trying to get back on topic but I just have to tell you how sorry I am that this happened. You'll all be in my prayers.
Here is a question for us to dig up an answer to in this case:
When Lindsey went missing, did the child support payments stop from her father to MB? Is he required to continue the payments legally even if she is missing? How long will he be required to continue them if so? Will they have to declare her legally dead in court before he is relieved of those payments in the future?
Oh, NMK, I am so very sorry.I know there is nothing we can say to make this any better for her or your family. Just know we are here for you and for her so if there is anything we can do...ask.
Bless her heart. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.
Feel free to start a thread in the Crime section and we can follow his case closely. At 17, he should be charged as an adult for this horrendous crime. Maybe the public can put pressure on the lawmakers to prevent this in the future in MO.
Thanks Seventeenseconds. When you say "he" are you referring to MH? Any idea on where this house is located?
Have we found the custody agreement between Lindsey's parents online yet? I am most interested in when he has to stop paying support for her.
When does a judge decide to change the order of support? How long would she have to be gone for them to drop or suspend it? Since Lindsey's mother has to be able to provide a home for her upon her possible return and this money was put in place to help do so...couldn't this be an issue?

I'll start her thread as soon as it hits the media. In a way, we are praying that it doesn't, but given the circumsances, I am sure it will.
Wouldn't that girl's parents have known if she was being bullied at school or have seen signs the girl was having deep depression? She didn't just go throw herself off a bridge without some prior red flags. It is too easy for LE to sweep it under the rug as a suicide. (This is what I believe happened in many cases involving the River killings. Accidental drownings as the MOD and COD are listed and do not take into account other things which happened prior to their deaths.)
I think LE should be looking in that same area for Lindsey in case they are wrong and the girl was actually murdered.
Any news today on Lindsey?
I'm still in shock to a certain extent.
And in typical form, she wasn't comfortable enough to tell her mother, so she called me first. I had to call her mother and ask her if she was aware of what was going on in her own home. And then the cops and the hospital. I stayed on the phone with her as long as I could. And now comes the custody battle, she wants to come home to me and her dad.
Okay, I swear I am going to try to get back on topic...
