After reading thru all the posts that were made since yesteday this one caught my eye. The reason is do I remember lindseys mom saying something about a man approached lindsey or something like that before she disappeared about a lost dog??? or am i crazy??
Pray for Lindseys safe return

Yes, Bobbie, but apparently MB claimed the dog search was "legit" whatever that means. I would like to know more about that individual, the poster, and a description. Thanks for your input.

The Daily World

The reward for information leading to 11-year-old Lindsey Baum has been raised to $10,000 as investigators continue checking on new leads.

Lindsey’s mother Melissa Baum said donations have increased the reward previously offered by Crime Stoppers and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Grays Harbor Undersheriff Rick Scott said a team of investigators continue to catalog and check out new tips from when the reward was first offered. They are conducting follow-up interviews with the help of neighboring law enforcement agencies.

Melissa Baum said people can contribute to the Lindsey Baum Reward Fund at any Sterling Savings bank branch.

Anyone with information on Lindsey’s whereabouts or suspicious behavior that may be related to the case should call the tip line at 1-866-915-8299 or send an e-mail to [email protected].

I have been reading up on a phrase called "the local rumor mill" in another community that is dedicated to the same sort of thing as WS. Wouldn't the idea of a "local rumor mill" as related to the McCleary community be like a virus to objectivity? Does anyone see any advantage in such a thing?

This "rumor mill" suggested that LB went to another residence after the first spotting, and claims that LB wanted to spend the night in another residence rather than return home, and saw a white car pass by and became extremely fearful after spotting that vehicle.

Does this publishing of a "rumor mill" not confuse investigation, turn it inside out, and cause trouble and loss when it comes to discovery? I won't mention the community but I am bothered by this idea of "rumor mill" stuff being published, causing any legitimate investigation to be slowed down or delayed because devoted people tend to follow the "rumor mill" garbage.

Please let me know if this comment is against forum rules. I have been following this for a number of days now, and it is really bothering me because I don't think that it is credible, nor is it helping to find Lindsey.

If LB went to another house, following the first incident, and such a thing happened with a white vehicle scaring her to death, and with other kids in the group being witnesses to this, it would have been published long ago. This "rumor mill" seems to me to be the invention of the one who created the "rumor mill" and any other "rumors" should be highly suspect and inventions by a wannabe

Just got off the phone, he's in customs (which is about a 12 hour ordeal over there) and should be on the airplane soon. I can't wait until he's safely back on American soil. Only another 5 or 6 days and he'll be home with his wife and (not so) little girl!

I will tell him thanks for you.

I've been avoiding "over there" ever since I seen a local posting incorrect info. I figured it wasn't worth my time getting upset about the things they were saying so I quit reading.

The poster who posted that info sure has a lot of "info" about McCleary for not being a local. He (or is it a she?) made it sound like s/he had personally gone and talked to each and every resident in McCleary and got the info. I don't get it.
I've talked to locals (my ex sister in law lives right behind MB and has talked to MB and no one has mentioned these stories. Why would someone tell a random stranger from the internet if they weren't telling their friends?) and we have a couple of very nice locals posting on this board. How come none of us have heard these "rumors"?

I do not believe that anyone in McCleary would have sent a 10 year old home if she was visibly scared and was being followed. They said she was "white as a ghost". What human would just send an upset and scared child on their way? Especially if they had a child around the same age.

Anyone know what time Sam's Food market closes on Fri nights? Anyone talk to any of the employees? Is that a gas station also? Do they have video cameras?

I like to keep up to date here, but I do miss posts occasionally.

Has KK's FB group dedicated to Lindsey been discussed here at all?

I'm a member of the group..

What exactly do you think we need to discuss about it? I looked at it today and didn't see anything odd. Did I miss something?

Hi Norm,

The info about the white car was written in a public comment from an article by Mlachester, or ML who did live on 1st st not far from Lindsey before she moved. Even though this woman had issues with Lindsey's mother, which might be gossip, if she had lied about a police report having been taken involving Lindsey saying she had been abused at home and was fearful, I would think that would have been corrected by someone now. If not corrected it will just be juice for LE in their investigation as to why she would lie about this. That is why I do tend to believe ML even though what she said was from her own point of view and hearsay.

As to the creek that flows under the wooden bridge, I don't understaned what you are getting at there.

To me it is obvious the creek runs in a NEasterly to SWesterly direction and the bridge crosses over it {running a bit north to south} a short distance before the vegitation on either side of the creek stops. That is because the bushes stop abruptly at the concrete. The water continues flowing SWesterly in the 2 culverts that run side by side through McCleary. I think McCleary {I think it was her} is right in saying the culverted creek runs close to the property line of the vacant lot N or the Shell Station. Actually, the city and any other property the culvert goes through would have granted an easement for that pipe to be laid, and that is why it would run close to property lines if possible,

Myself, I think the culverts are a non issue as they were searched.

The city man also told me about 9th st where there is an exposed area of creek, Sand Creek I believe. Does anyone know what that looks like?

seventeenseconds.. I think you need to remove the full names from the board. I believe it's against the rules since they haven't been publicly named.

It may not have been a month but it was definitely a number of weeks beyond the disappearance, time for grass and weeds to again stand tall. I'm a wildlife photographer so I am familiar with regrowth of fallen and disturbed grasses.

Jvk took and posted the pictures of McCleary on July 2, six days after Lindsey went missing.

Normcar, this is just a "guess" but it makes sense.

We know a "creek" runs along the park n ride, goes under ground there and must come out someplace else. We also know that Sams Canal runs along Maple between 7th and where the waste water treatment plant is near the end of 10th. (making 8th, 9th and 10th Streets dead ends)

on my map below, red indicates the areas where we know water is flowing. The green is where I am guessing where the underground portion runs
Found this info:
Sam's Canal, dug in the 1920s, meanders South through town, until it cuts West just past City Hall.
