I talked to KK today about this weekend.

They have people who are going to be handing out fliers about the candlelight vigil and upcoming search. They are also going to take fliers to all of the houses who are having a garage sales (and all of the local businesses) and ask them to post them and hand them out.

Candlelight vigil is being planned for Saturday Sept 26 at 8pm. Location is still up in the air. They are working on getting the Evergreen Christian Community Center (outside if the weather is nice or inside if it's not) but haven't heard back yet if it's available.

Also there is a search scheduled for the first weekend in October. I will have more details on that this evening. If anyone is interested in working in the search center please contact me. I'm working on setting up a meeting to train people.

:)

Animal04216: Please advise of the appropriate section.

Also, my inbox is full & i'd rather not resort to plain text if authenticity is ever required.

Thanks Jenn for the details about the next candlelight vigil. I've never attended one personally, but I'm always grateful when a local TV news station provides a live broadcast of one. It can be so comforting and give renewed hope, especially to those of us who live too far away to attend. Just seeing all the lovely candles and the gathering of kind people is very touching.

On some of the other missing child cases, local people have even taken their own videos of the presentations at the vigil and posted them on a photobucket or youtube.

I wonder if MB, KK or someone from the search center has already invited the news stations to be there for it?

TIA

Ok, I've been doing my best to keep track of all the information we've been given concerning Lindsey and her disappearance that day. But I don't recall seeing mention of a few things, and thought it would be ok to ask here if anyone happens to know...

Was Lindsey reported to have been carrying a backpack, purse, or overnight bag with her on her way to her friend's house?

Do we know if Lindsey had a certain type of necklace, ring, earrings, or bracelet she usually wore?

Pardon me if these are inappropriate questions, because none of us would ever want to say or do anything to potentially put a victim in worse danger, or jeopardise an investigation. I'm starting to realize how difficult it must be for LE to decide what information should be released versus what shouldn't be made public.

Also, as far as ideas any of us non-locals might come up with regarding areas we wish have been/could be searched, how is the best way to handle that?

TIA

I'd like to know what her favorite soda is.

Yeah, that's what I was told to. I'm multi tasking and typed out a quick answer (not seeing your post first) to breanna.

This weekend they need to get people out on the corners doing flyers for not only the vigil but also for needing searchers.
McCleary is having it's community wide garage sale.. I heard a lot of people come into town for that.
I'd get someone on every corner handing out information.

Maybe set up a table of items (tshirts, CDs, buttons, garage sale stuff if they have it) and try to raise some money.

I know in few communities in my area they have yard sales every year. But they usually are celebrating something special which incorporates other things. Like here they have military ships that port in the bay and give tours on the boats. They also have things like lobster feeds and fireworks. Do they have other activities that are go along with these yard sales. Do they usually have these community wide garage sales, each year around the same time. I know many look forward to these gatherings once a year here. Find some very nice things at a reasonable price.

No she didn't have any sort of purse, backpack, or overnight bag with her. She didn't have any sort of jewelry on.

What we were told she was wearing was a light blueish gray long sleeve tshirt style shirt with a hood, blue jeans with ripped knees and black slip on shoes.

As far as areas you'd like to have searched.. you can send me the area if you'd like and I can get it to the person in charge of the mapping.

I've never attended the community wide garage sales so I'm not sure if they do anything else or not.

Maybe another local can speak up on this one.

I'd like to know what her favorite soda is.

"Lindsey doesn't really drink a lot of soda. It makes her hyper. But if she can get away with it, she likes monsters. other wise sprite or coke"

Strange question.. but I asked for you anyway. :)

  • #731
Beer cans are the majority. Recent, specific sodas are the minority :)

Monsters.. lol i bet it made her hyper.

It's just a bunch of people having garage sales...all over town and some of the outlying areas. It brings a lot of extra people into town because it happens the same weekend every year.

I was wondering if she might have been given a piece of jewlery from a parent, grandparent or someone close to her. She might not be wearing at the time that she went missing but has it in a jewlery box. Maybe like a necklace of a sort of gem or something that has sentimental value. Girls that age are usually likeing jewelry and wanting to feel grown up. I know I have bought my daughter a few pieces of jewelry and has been given a few from her grandparents that is kind of sentimental to her.

I'm not sure I understand why that is important (unless she had it on her and we would need to know because it's something to keep an eye out for. ya know?)

But anyway.. I have no idea. Never thought to ask.

my hubby came in this afternoon and told me there was a radio show talking about Lindsey....its a must hear :)

This radio show wants to help get funds and volunteers to help find Lindsey!!!

*warning* the radio hosts are VERY upset that there is not much help from LE and how disorganized the searchs have gone......with that said......this show can be used as a tool to help find Lindsey :) they want to help

http://www.mynorthwest.com/?nid=110

*The Ron & Don Nation are asking your help and the help of everyone you know in finding Lindsey Baum, the 11-year-old McCleary girl missing since June 26. If you have a laptop, if you have a telephone, and if you care about children, we ask you to get involved so Lindsey's case can be solved.

We're also asking for the assistance of our elected officials, to engage all the resources the government can bring to bear toward finding Lindsey. We're encouraging the Ron & Don Nation to contact Congressman Norm Dicks, whose district includes McCleary, and Senator Maria Cantwell, a good friend of The Ron & Don Show. Encourage them to provide any assistance or direction they can in working with local authorities toward finding Lindsey Baum.* more at the link above :)

you can listen to the radio show here at the link below about Lindsey :)

What gave the Secreatary of State in Wa. a laugh was that the program charges $50.00 dolars a month with a 2yr. contract and no less. Thankfully no one in our state has applied for a charitable license to set up shop by having fund raisers for such a redundant item. JVK, great research as it took some doing initially when I heard about Mic Bart connected to it. O/T does anyone know if the amount and contract for phone remain the same? I'm going to be honest and say I wasn't comming back to post (due to tone of thread between posters) similar to the post addressing me in the post above. It was quite apparent that the poster didn't really want me to answer that. If she is sincerely asking and is impressed by "Stars" this tells me she has at least read their promo so I would hope this person would investigate further. I'm never going to tell someone how to use their free will. When I read the responses It gave me little annoying tears to see others sourced out info to the best of their ability as I did. Trust me I didn't expect to find what I found and it caused mooey grief, realizing I would catch grief on this paticular forum. I admire those who put such an effort in to finding LB with no concern about the hoopla surrounding money. This is about Lindsey who now has become McClearys shining star showing all what is good and true in life. Too be honest I was more interested in how all this media, traveling, associations, bank funds, tied into the FBI Forensic Psychologist profiling of Mom B more than educating the public. (I'm glad I did bring awarness.) Maybe this forum needs a new thread pertaining to profiles of the suspects not cleared if some are interested in this form of research. I'm only working on Mom B because she is the nucleous in the home. In-Sessions has a post by someone who states they are Lindsey's mom and I have no reason to doubt that as a truth. What is interesting is a sentence within her post. I was taken back a bit by this freudian slip that you could put with a profile. " I know people care about Me and my daughter" Operative word for profiling "ME", as mom B capped the M. The sentence alone is not too awfully disturbing but when you add in other behaviors it matters. Not calling mom out just trying to move away from the inner circle, the home. The other curious aspect of this post is that Mom B felt compelled to go on the internet and talk about this stuff, money, accounts, spitefulliness towards MsBart. Why? This should not be an issue for her as Mom has friends addressing her finances so that Mom B can concentrate on other more important things. Love to hear an account of the day in life of Lindsey on June 26th, from breafast till ? That could help many of us trying to find out what went on that day that may have led up to her vanishing.

Please accept my apologies if I was one who you felt was rude or offensive. Personally, I depend on your updates. You offer us your eyes, ears and insight which really helps. You are our connection so please don't leave.

You ever have a feeling about something that just kind of sticks in the back of your mind. I remember that JVK had mentioned about speaking to a man named Mark that was in front of a jewlery store and a comment was made about the jeweler not being particularly fond of LB. I guess you can say it kind of peeked my curiousity as to why. Most kids that age start careing how they look, what makes them feel good and special. Like having their hair done styled a special way, putting on makeup, especially if they where trying to attract attention to a special boy they might have had a crush on.
Although, some girls are kind of tom boyish acting. We know she enjoyed swimming, reading movies, computer. Maybe she liked to go to baseball games or other sport activities. Socializing with friends. I wondered if she liked horses and being around areas of farm animals. Know some girls dream of having horse of their own. I can remember when I was just a little bit older then her I had wanted to raise horses and also become veternarian. There was mentioned that she too wanted to be a vet or a writer when she got older. I would love to know what else she enjoyed what caught her eye. I can remember trying on clothes, like gowns that would make me feel like a princess. Maybe she also enjoyed feeling that way. I guess I am just reaching out to hold onto LB. I am praying they soon will find her. I am finding with the little information being released I am starting to feel like she is distancing and I would like to keep her close.

Have any of the locals doing searches had the plearsure of meeting Lindsey's girl scout leader? I remember Lindsey's troop and leader saying Lindsey was brite, cheerful and talkative. Her imput would be valuable in helping us understand Lindsey beyond the short account we know currently? My out of the box researching has me asking, if Lindsey's home life was so terrible as reported by a neighbor ML (whether true or not, the statement was made) she may have expressed the same angst with another female adult. With the little we know about Lindsey 21/2 mon. into and investigation all these questions are important to the puzzle of Lindsey vanishing. LE is not calling the case a Stranger Abduction but is calling Lindsey's disapperance a 'Missing Person" crime. This gives me hope that the crime perpetrated on Lindsey was infact someone she knew giving hope that Lindsey isn't to far away from home, I pray. Might be time to :back:
