I didn't think I'd be able to help with this question, but I kept it on my mind just in case. As I was watching NG about 5 minutes ago I saw MB speaking and she was crying. It was while she was saying that the perp needs to just give LB a chance and let her go.
Thanks. SoYest asked that question many times and finally someone has an answer for her. :)

Time line and other things it would be good to know:

  • what time Josh arrived back at home Friday night
  • what time did police begin searching after they received the call - and where? Did they begin at K's?
  • Did MB call K's before she left to search on foot? Did she call anywhere/anyone else?
  • what day were the shell surveillance tapes viewed?
  • What was the date for the LDT's taken - how quickly into the investigation?
  • What times were cars gassed up at the Shell between 8:15 - 10:15 p.m. - anyone pay with credit cards or debit?
  • Is there a camera INSIDE the shell near an ATM machine? Where is the next closest ATM machine? Does it have a camera? Have these tapes been checked?
  • Have speeding/parking tickets in the area for Friday night/Saturday morning been checked?
  • Drive-thru fast food restaurants often have cameras - any close by?
What else are we missing?

Great Job EYES! I also would like to see some more accuracy with these reports. In particular, along with the times and dates you would like to see - I would also like to see the places. I would like to know exactly where the kids were when Josh was sent back home. Had they made it to KK's house yet? Or were they still on the way?

And exactly where Lindsey was when last seen. None of the descriptions are consistent. The intersection of 6th and Maple is only 1 block from KK's house - NOT 2/3's of the way or half way or whatever. I lean towards this being where she was last seen because it has actually been named and because it appears to be consistent with the witness who was driving to work timewise - but it is still inconsistent with any of the other descriptions we have of the last seen spot.

How hard would it be for LE to confirm the last seen time and place?

Thanks so much for your suggestion...I re-wrote the sentences it indicating both girls were going to ask with the hope that one of the moms would say 'yes'.

Salem

Excellent job.

My one concern (in red above) is that we have seen media articles that say the reverse was the case, i.e. that they were asking if K could stay the night at Lindsey's. I lean more towards believing that to be the case because one article specifically quoted MB (Lindsey's Mom) saying so.

IMO, it is an important detail, because it does explain SS's earlier questions on the last thread as to why Lindsey didn't have any clothes with her like pj's for an overnight and why MB was still expecting Lindsey home by 10:00 and also why Josh was planning to walk home with Lindsey from K's.

Thoughts?

Thanks so much for your input...I rewrote the sentences to indicate the girls asked both moms for an over-night. It's darn hard to pin down what 10yo friends really have in mind or exactly what they said and when. They're clever at that age.

I think other people in town saw her, but they do not want to become "involved" for whatever reason. I do think she could have been along the main strip in town and then was accosted. I think she ran until she was abducted in a place where people did not hear her because she was too exhausted to scream loudly or she did and it was out of range. I think he left his car and chased her.

Terrific suggestions! How about checking receipts at the Shell for a couple hours around the time Lindsey went missing...how about checking receipts of those at the bar? How about sex offenders recently let out of prison...maybe they live or have relatives in nearby towns! Seems to me Lindsey was afraid of someone (nightmares, fear) and I'm wondering how everyone could have missed her fear and prediction something bad was going to happen. Someone had her really frightened. jmo

Hmm: The "pool party" at a friend's house could have given Lindsey a chance to meet someone-- a friend or relative of that family. Later in the evening, Lindsey might feel comfortable enough with that person to accept a ride. . .

I've just finished reading through all the threads on this case.

Thanks so very much jvk for all the photos and footwork, you're awesome! Glad you're there to help Lindsey!

I'll be glad when the MJ drama is over so NG and JVM can get back to covering these cases.

Just my impressions and questions so far from all the reading and thinking I've done:

- Something was definitely up with Lindsey. I'd be willing to say (almost without a doubt) that she was being sexually abused and that the time the abuse started coincides with the time that her grades started dropping and her nightmares started. I think this abduction needs to be looked at from the angle of a SO escalation. That could explain why she may have gotten in the car willingly with the perp or maybe have even stopped over at the perp's house. She would have been very vulnerable to "father figure" attention due to her feelings toward the divorce and her father being across the country, leaving her easy prey to a sexual predator.

- Has anyone found out anymore information about ML and FL?

- Due to the astro profile and his myspace WK, KK's brother gives me a hinky feeling regarding this case. Do we know where he lives or anything about his record? I don't have access to any of the paid background check sites, but I'll check the free sites that have been linked.

Thanks for all the info this far. It just goes to show, WSers work harder when they have no NG and JVM...lol Great work, all!

i am wondering if Lindsey went looking for her brother thinking he went somewhere else rather than home.

Maybe an ATM...

Hi BB, About ATM cameras, once a machine swallowed a big cash deposit I made, giving me no receipt. I immediately called the division handling ATM's for the bank and asked them about the camera, to see if anyone had followed my transaction in the immediate time frame. They said it wouldn't have told them nothing if there was a delayed time in kicking out the receipt and someone taking it, as the ATM camera only gives a peephole view of the person, usually their face.

So IMO unless a bank had other cameras on the building focusing on the ATM machine there would be little to see.

Now Rounders could well have video surveillance inside the bar. Depending on the equip, cameras these days can give quite a clear shot. There are so many variables, but it would be interesting to see if LE got something from any VS. If they have digital they can go back to any date and pull it up on their computer screen. Actually all they have to do is give LE their access password to their account and LE could go thru everything right from the station. Even back as far as Quantico~!

PS: Did you see KK said today the FBI is almost thru with the case?

Florida: Sandra Prince case the video at the bank was wonderful. Showed the guy actually walking up to the machine in one and the car pulling up in another where you could actually see inside the car. Never solved the case however.
I think there's also a Pacific Bank on that strip.

I think we need some big gun reporters to go up in that area and take a look around. This is sinking too fast. We haven't even heard if they got warrants to check the empty properties sitting in that area.

Are there empty cabins in those mountains?

hello, im always lurking in this thread :) anyway, this may sound way off but if it is true that the county worker that allegedly saw lb on her way back to her house is the same person that ordered her brother to "go home", i find it odd that this person saw her at each critical point in the day - and is the ONLY one to see her...if this person has the authority to tell the brother to go home even tho he was sent by their mother...im sure lb would have accepted a ride from this helpful neighbor...we really need to find out who this person/people are...

Why did school get out on June 16th at 10:00 a.m.? Is that weird to anyone but me? I would have thought it would have been at least a 1/2 day ending around noon or so. It hardly seems worthwhile to get everyone up and off to school so they can come home 2 hours later?

Salem

That's how it is over here where I live too (Louisiana). The kids will get up for the last day of school and it's just basically, get on the bus, go to school, get the report card and the bus brings them right back home.

I am so sorry with what you had to deal with and what you have gone through. I respect you being so brave to come out with it. It is what people need to know in order to protect their loved ones. It can and does happen to everyone no matter the circumstances.

It could play a role here. No one can say for certain that someone in her immediate area did not take her away. When there is little evidence of an abduction...you have to rely on past history and what is iknown. This certainly implies that anyone she came into contact with prior to her abduction is suspect. However, there is no indication it was from a church or someone of that authority.

Thank you SS :)
It really came down to trying to do the right thing so it didn't happen again.
I wish i would have realized sooner that THAT was why i needed to report it even if i didn't want to go through all that again. :(

I'm not sure how to say this w/o getting in trouble. Go back to that link Darlin Gal provided a few pages back and read KK's posts over there. I "think" the friends house was right by the video store. It's on one of the more recent posts cause I just finished up reading those.

How so, SS?

You'd think there would be some sign then of him suddenly pulling the car over?
