I also agree, but just to correct you... McCleary School is Preschool - 8th grade.

Is that new? It didn't say that on the webpage. Or maybe they don't advertise it since Preschool is not mandatory?

am i reading this right? she has failed to reg...that many times?

In the Neveah Buchanan case I started digging on some of these SO's who had failed to register, and it was scary how many times they had failed. Pretty much everytime they moved to a new location, they ignored the laws governing them and the guidelines of their releases. It scares the hell out of me that this happens so often... I have a 2 year old and I just don't look at people the same anymore. It's a shame :(
People approach us at the market and tweak his cheek and say things like "omg how cute is he?????" and all I can think of is... get away from my angel until I clear you!

How sad is that :(

I'm a tainted father now.

I can't read the small print either, but it's not uncommon for people to have MySpace sites to honor missing or murdered children. I have several among my own MySpace friends, and the Caylee case was so prominent for the past year that it wouldn't be unusual for Lindsey to have heard about it (or friended the Caylee memorial page).

I hope LE is checking out Lindsey's MySpace friends, but I'm not immediately suspicious of the older friends who aren't mutual friends of her mom's - I have a number of MySpace/Facebook friends who are older relatives or older adults that I've worked with at summer camp, and it wouldn't be unusual for Lindsey to have added people that she knows in those kinds of capacities. It's possible that her mom knows them too, and just doesn't have them added on her own page... I hate to automatically assume that anyone over a certain age who befriends a younger person on MySpace has sinister intentions.

the reason it caught my eye...is i believe it was not there before..its a new friend.....but again...i could have missed it...but ive looked at her friends several times and did not see that.....so i thought someone new has befriended her myspace....:)

Yes!

Now check out

Becky Van Gelder - Missing from Corvallis, Or in 2002 I think. (11 years old at the time)
Lydia Braschler-Varo - Missing from Mt. Vernon in 2001, 13 yrs old at the time.

Let's see if we can footprint him in the same areas at these times. I got to soon get some shut eye though.

Yep, it's not uncommon for them to fail to register. There isn't much our system can do about it except re arrest them, jail them for a few days then set them free again.

Right now they are tracking a lot of them down. I don't know if Lindseys case is what spurred it or if the crack down was already in the works. I do know the ones they are arresting now are being interviewed about Lindsey.

It is new. She actually has a couple of new memorial sites added.

Sorry to leave you guys in the air. I heard about the unconfirmed sighting from my friend who works at the ORV park. She is quoted in one of the news articles about the area. She is a very trustworthy person. She said that on Saturday, someone at the park said they think they saw Lindsey up on one of the trails with a man on a quad. He wasn't aware at the time that there was a missing little girl. He remembered the situation because the man looked startled and nervous and then a little girl came out of the woods to his quad. She was wearing a pink floral bathing suit. When he got back to the ORV park, found out about Lindsey and was sure that the little girl he saw was her. Someone (don't know who) headed back up to look for the man and girl, but they were gone. That is a VAST area of trails full of quads, dirt bikes and four wheelers. My family and I spend a great deal of time up there ourselves. It is not uncommon to run into other people on bikes, etc. It would also not be uncommon for a father, or family friend to let a little girl off the quad to go potty in the woods....it is uncommon for little girls to ride quads in that area dressed in nothing but a bathing suit. She'd get scratched and banged up. The whole situation just did not sit well with the man who saw the girl or with the others back at the park, including my friend. I do not know if LE was notified. I am assuming they were, because this friend of mine used to work with me in the corrections industry and that tends to give you a permanent "security" mind set. She would have told LE no matter what. She did say they were searching every camper, trailer and vehicle leaving the ORV park. I don't know if that included LE or if it was just park volunteers asking for permission to search vehicles. This wouldn't cover everyone going in and out of the whole state forest, just the ORV park proper.
Did I cover it all? I just don't want to leave anything more confusing than it already is.

This would have been on 6/27/09?

i wonder if this is why LE put it out there.....that they are looking into the habits of someone who comes into town every friday.....perhaps this is someone who visits this ORV park on a reg basis....since its has tracks for bikes and off road V.....

im still reading....back...but does this park feed into where the fire was? meaning can you get there from the park.....hope i make since...

Hi TakeNote, That is such a good possibility tying in with what LE has given us by telling us what they are concentrating on, I would like to dub this as the POST OF THE DAY.

I just get a quickening in my being about the possibility LE could be on to something here. I would think part of the profile of a guy who would start such a fire in a campground would be a strong guy, very fit and ruddy looking but a real wimp when you hear him speak. He would have no compunction about setting a fire and taking a life to have his enjoyment and stay free from the arm of the law.

Sorry I got a bit carried away. But I could see him as a trucker, mill worker or someone who has to use his body in his work. Landscaper, coach, fireman ... ... ... ...

thank you so much for the map...can you put that in the map thread too :)

now i wonder ....if its someone coming into the ORV park....but needed to fill up on gas...either for thier car/truck...or even dirt bike/four wheeler...which direction would be the best route to a gas station.... ? is the gas station in McCleary the close to the park?

See I heard a different version of this story.

I was told a detective told my friend that someone thought they had seen Lindsey in a pink floral bathing suit and jean shorts in the meat department of Costco on Saturday (the 27th) with a very nervous older man.

Depends on where they were coming from. I personally wouldn't plan on filling up in McCleary.. there is cheaper gas in Aberdeen/Elma (to the west) or Olympia (to the East) or Shelton (north)

But I suppose if they needed gas and had forgotten to get it elsewhere they would go to McCleary.

If they're coming from Olympia there's actually a gas station at Summit Lake...but a lot of people bypass that one and go into McCleary to get gas and food for camping at the ORV park. From Elma and Shelton the Shell station is the closest to the park. On weekends there are always trailers with dirtbikes and quads at the Shell station.

Do you think the man was startled because this could have been his daughter who was going "potty" while he was waiting and wasn't expecting someone to show up at that particular time. I just think if this was Lindsey and it has been said that she would fight anyone that tried to take her that she wouldn't willingly get back on that quad. I would hope she would flag down that other person riding by.
