WA - Lindsey Baum, 10, McCleary, 26 June 2009 - #7

I agree with coastal. I am falling in love with this little town. I just wish I had been introduced to it under more favorable circumstances.

I don't think the caretaker has anything to do with this. Obviously from reading racer comments they were very interested in Ben the last caretaker because he could arrange more, i think it was called flat tracking. Caretaker must mean more than mowing the grass and cleaning the place at a racetrack.

Don't know if this is helpful but I did some googling and found a pg that lists an emergency phone # for the park caretaker but doesn't give a name. I can list the phone number if it's ok.

Link it...I think it's a TOS violation to post it.

Sorry for the confusion, the area is on Larson Road. It's just a little bit north of where hiway 108 and Summit road intersect. There was one Sheriff's car on the RR tracks on intersection of Larson and Summit Road and I heard from our neighbor that there were 4 more LE cars 1/2 mile down Larson. The LE on the RR tracks is gone, and like I said earlier, my bf won't let me go see if the other LE are still on Larson. He's trying to keep me from getting too innvolved in all of this because he knows it upsets me and keeps me from sleeping well. I just wish for peace and answers for Lindsey and her family and for all of us here at WS as well.

Does anyone know if Lindsey is connected to someone on Larson Rd?

I have no idea. Is something happening on Larson Road tonight?

  • #287
Hmm. Would that make Allen a "county employee"; and Scandi's telephone friend a "county employee"? And wasn't one of the last people who saw Lindsey a "county employee"?

Isn't that one of the areas searched today, or did I misunderstand?

Scandi~ You deserve a triple round of applause today!! Brilliant move calling KOMO! WTG!

:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::woohoo::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Hi SS, That's why I referred to her as Ms Voss lol

I did just call KOMO News and had a nice conversation with the news desk person, a gal who is familiar to the case. She said they have had nothing today off the wire about Lindsey. I gave her the info about 2 possible searches today, where they were, the caretaker being let go a week ago, etc, telling her we don't know if any of this concerns Lindsey.

She was going to call the Sheriff's office which is what they do when they get a call like this and I rold her she is the only one with the SCOOP so I expect to hear about it on the news by tomoz. She laughed and I had already told her KOMO News has had continual coverage of Lindsey's case which is appreciated by the public.

We'll see what develops!

Oh, She said if I can wait till tomoz, :innocent: to call Grays Harbor County. She said the caretaker is a public employee and that is public information. And they can't withhold it from a private citizen.

That was great she told me that, as I had't even thought of finding out who this guy was in that light. As a public servent. I guarantee by tomoz morning we will know who he is. xox

No, you're right. Larson and Summit by the RR tracks.

There is a child sex offender that lives right at the intersection of summit and elma hicklin:

9A.44.083 - Child molestation in the first degree.,
Conviction Date: 1/2/1992

It is a little further west than where they were today, and I can't tell how close they were to his home.
He's also an older guy (35)

Yes, but what about Allen the caretaker? Any comments about him?

Not a mention of an Allen.

I wonder if there was someone on a dirtbike in the Maple st area that Friday and Lindsey got on to go for a ride. Would make it understandable about no scent for the dogs. Really big on motor bikes in that area.

They searched that area today. Still not sure if it was in connection to Lindsey or not.

Bumping these important posts of today so that people coming in will know how this all began developing:

sorry i was so vague...what i heard is that there is an rv park around mccleary and that the caretaker just got fired and his computer was taken from him...thats what some of the locals are saying...i am assuming that it's this park i posted. i also heard that the guy who got fired' daughter was friends with Lindsey...just what i heard...cant comfirm

HOT OFF THE LIPS OF Ms Voss

I decided to call the ORV park and got some hot news. developing story :)

A lady answered the phone and I told her my name and that there were several of us who had heard about new searches in Lindsey's case and she and I were suddenly bosom buddies.

I asked if Fonda Voss was the caretaker of the ORV Park and she said , No, that's me. {She would have no reason to lie IMO, as the call to her was out of the blue!}

She proceeded to tell me they are now without a caretaker as the previous one was let go about a week ago. I asked her who that was and she said Allen. Towards the end of our convo I came back to Allen and asked his last name. She said it is a hard name to remember, opened up her mind and said it is either Meihoff or Lamhoff, or something similar.

She then mentioned that early this morning the Sheriff's officers and search and rescue crews were there and headed out into the Capitol Forest part of the park. She must have meant where it is heavily treed. She said it was a sizable group of people and of course they didn't tell anyone at the park where they were headed in the park or why.

I asked about the fire the Monday after the 4th and she said where they were headed this morning was not in the area where the fire was. She said the fire was investigated thoroughly from what she heard and had no relation to Lindsey's case.

Fonda also told me she had heard the dogs were out again this morning in McCleary.

Her last words to me were so heartfelt. She said the people in town are saying there is something about this case that they can't put their finger on. There will be a burst of activity and then it seems like nothing is happening in the case. Then all of a sudden another burst of activity. They think that something is about to happen, just a communal feeling I guess, and then she said she believes they are out in the C Forest searching today from a tip they received.

We talked about Lindsey and she said you might not hear much about her or what is going on in the investigation if you're walking down the street. But the people who live here are keeping the case alive, talking between themselves and though it might not look good, they all hope she is found soon and that she is still alive.

I brought up the helicopters flying south of Hwy 8 in the middle of the night last week and she said everyone thought that was so strange as it is an uncommon occurance the way it was done, at least that is what the talk of the town is.

Back to Allen, his departure or firing was sudden and without fanfare. She said he was just taken off the job with nothing said to anyone who works there except they will be hiring a new caretaker for the ORV Park. xox

lol, I meant that in the sense that the astrologers were talking older :)
I'm 39, 35 is still a baby, lol.
I have a creepy feeling about this guy...he's got some family history in here.
Wonder if he works at the dealership, or somewhere closer in where he could have seen Lindsey regularly.
