Hi again, It must be a very difficult position for LE to be in when out of the blue a local child vanishes.

The 6th sense LE officers develop and their personal common sense in trying to assess the situation is almost a given. But I think in a case like this, direction has to come from protocol set up in the dept. It would be the only way to run the investigation in the first hours to days until another decision is made and the direction of the case changes from a runaway/lost child to an abduction.

I bet the Chief in McCleary was in close touch with the head of the GH Sheriff's Dept and together they decided to call the FBI in Seattle ASAP. After all they are experts at missing children. And when the FBI felt it was imperative they go on scene they did. Just guessing, but it sounds logical to me.

PS: I am assuming that there is a McCleary Police Dept and the GH Sheriff's office in Montesano. Does Montesano also have their own PD? What about Elma? They need everything possible in Elma as I have seen so many SO's residing there!

McCleary, Elma, Monte, Aberdeen and some of the other cities/town in the county have their own police force...and the Sheriff is in Monte I believe...but there's been a Sheriff's dept. vehicle in town for a month or two before Lindsey went missing.

O/T I just had a thought and Brooke Wilberger popped into my mind. This article is very new, and they have decided to move the trial out of Benton County {Corvallis} to a bigger City. I hope they choose Lane County {Eugene} and I'll be there for sure. The trial date or city for the trial has not yet been set.

thought our locals might be interested ;}

My mouse is being naughty and can't post the link :croc:

There were two people who seen Lindsey "on Maple between 5th and 6th" right?

First one was the county worker on the way to work. Second one (I'm assuming) was a co-worker of MBs (and I think she worked at the dollar store in Elma that is owned by MM)

I was just wondering about where she works because a guy in my class saw the flier I had tucked into the front of my binder today and said he worked/works with her at ACS...but he didn't really know her. So I don't know if she worked at ACS, was taking shifts at the dollar store, or what.

Thanks McCleary, I think the area is well represented by LE. If they are even half of what our Coldcaseman is, now retired from there and still working on his only 2 unsolved cases, they are super officers. LOL

What's ACS?

Got a new clue on NG....MB said that the last person who saw Lindsey walking home is one of her co-workers.

Another bit of info to add to this: Lindsay's mom said that her co-worker saw Lindsay at 9:15. So, that is a 45 minute time period that lapsed before anyone started to look for her. That's a hell of a long time. MB also said she "knew of one" witness.

Mark Klass weighed in tonight, also. He said that the answer to finding her probably lies in the area between where she was last seen and her house and that all of the homes in that area should be searched.

The map they used tonight showed her last sighting as being about a block away from KK's house. She was MUCH closer to KK's house than she was to hers when she was seen by MB's co-worker. The map also estimated the distance from KK's house to MB's house as being a half mile and that's if you just draw a line from one house to the other. As we know. she would actually have to zigzag to get home unless there is another way to cut through.

MB also said that that it was still light outside at 10 p.m. that night. Can this be verified by any of our locals?

Nancy spent 15 minutes of the show on Lindsay tonight. That was nice to see. It would have been nicer, though, if the reporter hadn't reported that Lindsay was at KK's house for TWO hours before she was sent home. Why can't they get their facts straight? All I took as gospel from the show tonight is what I heard MB actually say.

At that time, it was still pretty light out until after 10...I'd take my kids out to play and run off energy until well after 9 and they'd complain when I put them to bed after that it was still too light out and the sun wasn't down yet.

Wow, sorry I missed NG. (My dad's here. Right now we're watching "Golden Girls.")
It was probably dusk at 10 pm. We checked on that earlier in the forum. Jvk was there around 9:15/9:30 and it was light, though just starting to get dark. It would be getting pitch dark very rapidly at 10, I'd think.

The time of darkness was verified by one of the locals.

Yes, during this time of the year it's pretty light out until 10 pm.

I can take pictures tonight to show you how light it is. I'll do it without flash so you can see.

It's overcast tonight so I don't know if that will make a difference or not but I'll try.

Thank you! That would be awesome. She's been gone for three weeks now so it would have been even lighter then, right?

You know, you think the boogie man only comes out in the dark. Guess not.

No, the days are about the same.. maybe gets darker a few minutes later than it did a month ago, but not a lot.

Also with it being cloudy tonight it's going to be a little darker earlier than it was that day because it was a clear warm day when Lindsey went missing.

There is still light at 10PM in central Oregon too...and WA is further north, so it stays light even longer. She was not out past dark, believe that.

Just wondering if anyone here has been following the cryptic posts in the guestbook on the "Help Find Lindsey Baum" page. These 2 posts were by an "Adam" posted on 07/21/2009. Link:

A site is devoting itself to tackling the cryptic language:

Links to a suspicious person who may be related to this poster can be found here. He was convicted in 1995 and no further evidence that I know of determines his status now or even if he still lives in the area. However, a check that I made finds a number of offenders in that area, but my "check" source has been proven to be a bit ancient on some findings, as was clearly shown a few days back:

I read missing posts from the last time I logged on and couldn't find any discussion relative to this so I decided to post these links. If any of the above links go against policy, let me know and I'll delete them or MODS delete anything non-kosher, thanks.

PS - thanks LadyBug and SS for sharing with me your "boobie ident" on those photos posted  :blowkiss:
