WA - Major security incident at SeaTac Airport. All planes are grounded, Aug 2018

Hard to root against a glorified baggage handler who did a barrel roll in that plane (!) and said he was able to fly it in the first place because of being good at video games (!). The "I'm a white guy" comment can be excused because, after all, this suicidal thief was mentally ill. So - sad about his death and the $$ plane, glad, glad no one else was hurt, and still intrigued by how we humans can act out in this madness of our times.

Maybe he brought up the "white guy" thing because he was upset at females being able to pilot planes. Not like the "good old days" when only white men could pilot.

Women who are pilots share the moments of inspiration that led to aviation careers

2 black female pilots flew a plane together — and people are applauding them for making history

I'm not going to listen to it because if it got to Gitana I know I cannot handle it. That is unbelievably sad.

I so hope he did not have children. Please don't let this be the legacy he left for them.

I hope this can raise awareness of the pay issues and homelessness problem up there.

There are enough apartments sitting EMPTY up there to house all of the homeless! It's all just so wrong.
In an odd way I feel nosey listening to the exchanges w air control. How incredibly sad and how regrettable I am over listening. Really pulls at my heart strings. And how amazing is it absolutely nobody else was killed!! Oh my my

Of course! Nobody wants to see boring instagram photos. To be popular or famous on instagram, you must have a very exciting life.

Desperate to be famous. He spent so much time filming his road trip TO PUT IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA that he didn't have much time to enjoy it.
New Data Reveals Just How Desperately Millennials Want To Be Famous
I don't think you can peg him as this. We have no idea how much time he spent filming or if it was group effort. They seemed to enjoy themselves immensely, which is why this is so tragic. We have no idea if he wanted to be famous--but he is now infamous. I feel for those who love him because it seems he was loved by many.

As incredibly sad as this tragedy is, this man has exposed one hell of a vulnerablity in aviation.

People on the NYC news stations are understandably freaked out--three major airports within twenty miles...

This almost seems like it was done spontaneously. A hey, why not moment? Seems like a kid with a kind heart who didn't think it through.

But the vulnerablity exposed is truly scary. Imagine if it was someone with an entirely sinister motive.

He was also studying media in college. He had posted some of his videos as part of academic projects. Can you please stop posting about how is this or that? He definitely was wrong in what he did. No one disagrees but must we begin to use rank generalizations about a generation to further degrade him. He has harmed his legacy enough. IMO.

Yeah. Remember the gal who went around the world with her husband, filming, instgramming and blogging the whole time who then killed herself upon the return?

People can have inner demons no one sees.

So true. There are many victims besides him in this. There is his wife and family, passengers, coworkers, the local community who fear for their safety more now, etc.

And then...

And then...nothing. I hope the company has a good medical plan for its employees that includes mental health coverage, and encourages employees to use it.

The plane is a deductible business loss. The company will likely have to bear clean up costs as well.

some of the questions asked are IMO dumb -- this is a top ten airport in usa initially an aircraft being pushed back out of a maintenance hanger would not cause a commotion.

now, I cant help (sorry in a humorous manner ) the situation when it was discovered that an airliner was kinda lost !

oh sh#t where is 702 - it was in bay 6

on intercom : Bob did you accidently tow 702 to a gate

Response: No Bob we don't have 702- are you saying 702 is gone

Response Yes

Resonse: what do you mean gone

response I mean not here

response Your telling me you don't have 702. No would ask Heneratta if she has 702 at one of her gates?

response sure hold on

response Henrratta says she only has 701 705

response Oh sh4t!!

response let me get back to you hey susy have you seen 702?

response no

response well can you make sure rick does not have 702 - hey bob have you seen 702

response yeh she is in 4

response no she is not

response 702 is not in 4

response no 4 is empty

response are you feeling ok

response i am this is not funny ////////

Response : I think you are in some big trouble Bob go check again !!

off radio oh cr@p bob lost 702!! When was the last time you saw her?

Ground control tower : Horizon what is going here - looks like 702 is in our cue for takeoff

response (not really !) Oh that is where she is at least we located her

She was there 15 minutes ago - I am sure of it.

Oh shoot she is out there on the taxiway

Oh shoot someone is in big trouble

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interestingly the people filming him who could've been victims, seemed worried for him as well as themselves. "Is he okay?"

No, I won't stop posting my opinion. What he did was very selfish. There have been posts on this thread making him an admirable, tragic hero. It is ignorant to glamorize such people.

And then...
Of course, people who fly will pay any cost that is not covered by business loss. But, there are many things we (those who fly) pay for that are just as egregious but we don't know.
