The next morning at 8:00AM a neighbor attempted to deliver a newspaper to the MP and found her front door open, some lights on, dog running loose and dirty dishes still in the sink. Several searches failed to produce any trace of the MP. Case reconstructed in 2001. No DOB in any documentation. Not entered in NCIC.

If Nancy had hosted neighbours for dinner the night before her disappearance it's unlikely she was suffering from dementia or a similar condition that might have caused her to wander off and get lost. The obvious question is what relatives did she have that might have benefited from her death. The implication is that she lived alone but that doesn't mean she didn't have adult children living nearby.

There is mention of her at Old towns: Railroad towns of Palmer/Kanaskat | Black Diamond History (wordpress.com) which is a site about the history of the area. The interesting bit is the comment that she had a habit of going to the river edge (the Green river I assume) and throwing her garbage in - and the river was very high at the time she disappeared. It is easy to think she may have slipped and been swept away.

I read the article - thank you and I am puzzled by the story teller saying she had heard it was a wild party - ( I do not think the story teller is being ironic) but only 3 other people were invited, the neighbors on either side of. How wild can a party with only 4 people get especially when 1 is in her 70s? Was there some sort of prank played on Nancy which caused her unintentional death ?
