I believe this obituary is for his dad. Assuming Randall was living with his dad and stepmom (mom seems to have tragically passed away in 1963, and his dad remarried in 1965), they “lived and farmed in Plymouth County, west of Hinton,” until his dad retired in 1972. His dad also did work for the telegraph company, which had his dad relocating to Sioux City for two years, Omaha for five years, and Jacksonville and St. Petersburg, FL, for three years. His dad was then in Colorado Springs before finally moving to Mesa in the 1980s. Randall Reed is listed as living in Mesa at the time of the obituary in 1998, although he still has siblings in Iowa at that time.
