For the first search of the year we went south of Tenino. We did not find anything, so we will plan another search in a couple of weeks, weather permitting. We will keep you informed by e-mail.

Thank you to all that participated.
Remember to take care of each other.

So glad to see a story about Nancy and the search for her by her amazing friends.

Hard to believe someone can just vanish, without a trace. Hope you get some answers soon.

Hi Miss Scandi ... Dreamweaver is really the fact person in this case. So I would like to hear what her opinion is on whether Nancy was taken from inside the house or from outside. Couple of things we do know.

  1. The front door was ajar.
  2. A single glass of wine was on the coffee table and the TV was on.
  3. She smoked outside on the front porch, not inside the home.
  4. Her purse and keys were inside the home.
  5. No sign of a struggle anywhere in or outside the home.
I have never heard that there were any clues which indicated whether she was taken Friday or Saturday night.

A possible theory; someone knocked on her door or saw her on the front porch. They posed a question or otherwise approached her and she was taken in a manner that left no signs of a struggle. Could someone have followed her from the store she stopped at on the way home from work? This case is a little similar to Lindsey Baum's case, Nancy literally disappeared with no trace.

A glass of wine was on the coffee table, I think if she was outside having a smoke, she would have taken the wine with her. the two go hand in hand.
If someone wanted her to go with them, I think she would have grabbed her smokes. I am wondering if , maybe, she wasn't even taken from her home.
It was just set up to look like she was.Or she was very familiar with the person and willingly went up to their vehicle, I think it was someone she knew. moo

Dear Friends,

I apologize that it has been so long since I last communicated with you. I have had a killer work schedule the last several months and I am finding the holidays difficult this year. Nancy weighs heavily on my mind and I can only imagine what her family is facing this holiday season.

First, I owe each of you a huge debt of gratitude for your help in trying to locate Nancy Moyer. Searching for Nancy has not been an easy task. I thank each and every one of you for donating your valuable time in helping with the searches. I also thank those who have helped with fund raising efforts. I never realized how difficult it is to do this type of activity especially in light of the economic hard times we have all been facing this past year. You are all amazing!!

We have raised over $3,000 to date and will be giving that money to Nancy’s mother who has indicated she wants to put it in a college fund for Nancy’s daughters. We are discussing future fund raising options for the upcoming year, but have nothing concrete set at this time.

We have searched north, east, and west of Tenino, but haven’t done any searching south. I have four locations south of Tenino mapped out that I would like to search in January/February. For safety reasons, I would like to search these four areas as a group and not spread out like we have done in the past. Weather permitting, I hope to get things organized so we can go out on January 16, 23, or 30. I will let you know via email and hope you can join us.

Looking back on this year, I only have one word that describes it for me…surreal. I never dreamed last Christmas the events that would unfold that would forever change my life and the lives of so many others. On the up-side, I have met so many amazing people (each of you) who constantly remind me how powerful the human spirit is.

Please have a safe holiday. Take care of each other.

Bev

Friends of Nancy Moyer will be conducting a search south of Tenino on Saturday, January 23, 2010. We will meet at the Tenino City Park located at 309 Park Street, Tenino Washington, at 9:30 a.m.

Please be prepared for inclement weather. Boots and waterproof clothing is desirable.

It has been several months since our last search for Nancy. We have spent the summer/fall conducting fund raising activities because the grasses and leaves were so thick it made searching dangerous. However, with winter here in full force, we now have accessibility to areas of interest that we have not searched before.

Thank you in advance to everyone who is able to help. The giving of your time is an amazing gift and I am so appreciative for all you have done since we began this quest.

Can't find any updates. Are any co-workers still searching, or reading this thread?

  • #293
Co workers will be organizing a new search. They will make the announcement.
Nancy's one year date of disappearance is coming up in about a month.
I hope she is found by then.

Yes, March 8. I still feel it is someone she knew. Sadly ,I do not think this will have a happy ending. I hope I am wrong.

I am leaning toward a stranger abduction. By stranger I mean, maybe someone from the neighborhood or someone she saw at the grocery store or gas station, but did not really know them.
I am thinking they knew her habits, alone on the weekends, and just walked up and knocked on the door and then took her.

Hope I am wrong.

Train runs in front of her house?

  • #297
I agree dreamweaver. I have long thought she was abducted by someone she was acquainted with but not close to. Someone like a neighbor, landlord, utility or maintenance guy, etc who knew she lived alone and who she trusted enough to let them approach her.

The leads are so scarce. My thoughts are with family and friends.
