I believe so I also think that when they asked to bring dogs in LE told them No, that they couldn't afford to "mess up" any evidence they might find. So any search and rescue that is to be done has to go through LE in order for the findings to be marked as evidence... if there is/were to be findings.

Huh? That's what their there for--and they know how to conduct a search w/o destroying or hurting possible evidence. WTH?

BBM If that's the case, then why aren't they holding searches and inviting the community. I know I've seen it done on t.v., is that how it works in real life? :waitasec:

It's all fine and good that CC is locked up and we are getting info on his matter, BUT what about Rachael? We need to know more info on her. Do they have a POI or not? Have they ruled CC out or is there anyone else they are looking at? We all know she did not just get up and walk away for pete's sake. I feel so bad for these girls and the family. :banghead:

Being that it was Mom's Weekend for UI and WSU, do they have any bulletin board type websites to post flyers? I think it is a great idea hollyblue, for flyers at the Plantation with those three things on it together: CC, RA and the Yukon. That may jar someone's memory. I will ask again, does the Plantation have cameras and have the workers and patrons been interviewed?

Apparently in real life they want community help by word of mouth. Not by conducting searches. Seems to me that MAYBE LE knows more then they are letting onto?? Well duh we know that is true. I want to say a Birdie said they say the Yukon in Pullman and then later saw it by some old abandoned grain silos on the 17th. Just a rumor as of yet, but if that is the case "abandoned" and a "missing person" should go hand in hand if you ask me. Why no searches there. Or have they and we just don't know. There is alot we DON'T know for sure. I don't understand the lack of searches. The girls are searching ditches and swampy messes with NO help. Why would a search party create more havoc then if its just the girls searching. I am just SO confused!

Those poor girls. I wish they would invite the community to search. There are so many people willing to help. I hope the rumor you heard is true and that it some how leads us to finding Rachael. It's really hard to sort rumor from fact when LE is telling us nothing.

I can understand why they are being so hush hush about it, I wouldn't want the case to be ruined by telling too much.

I've been reading a lot about old murder cases in Lewiston and it's really depressing to see the articles saying that they are close to making an arrest and then 20 years later no arrests have been made.

I'm not sure that I would suggest this, if this is a normal church, and I don't know anything about his church, his pastor would pray with him and try to convince him to do the right thing and admit to the truth and turn himself in and give peace to her family. I belive his pastor was one of the people going to his hearing but I could be wrong. But I don't think he would have admitted this to his pastor then have his pastor's support, in fact I would bet his pastor would come forward with any confession he had made, knowing it was the right and honorable thing to do for her and her family. I belive it is a Presbuterian Church and if their value and belief system is anything like churches I have attended throughout the years the pastor would not withhold a confession but turn it over to LE, and would for sure try to get the person to admit their guilt for their own benefit and for the peace and closure of all others involved.:twocents:

Actually a pastor is one of the few people you have privilege with along with lawyers, Dr's ect. I don't know about a Presbuterian church specifically but a Catholic pastor WILL NOT turn you in for something you tell them in confession...they will also refuse to testify against you in court.

It was only mom's weekend for U of I. WSU mom's weekend is a different weekend. Also school is out now so 95% of those kids have left the area. Also I am pretty sure the Plantation does not have cameras....they have nearly no windoes and a wood floor still....

I know a Catholic preist will not...however it is the ethical responsibility that takes presidence over confidentiality...such as his Dr that already came forward and said he told her he wanted to rape and kill his ex wife, kill his daughter and then himself. I know they don't have to but I believe most would depending on the cirucumstances.

http://www.nytimes.com/1981/05/26/u...-pastor-on-confidentiality-of-counseling.html

This is an old artical but it shows that the presbyterian church stands behind pastoral confidentiality. It goes so far as to state that it is a pastors "spiritual and professional duty to hold in confidence all matters revealed to them in their counseling ministry".

http://www.sangabpres.org/ETHICAL GUIDELINES FOR PRESBYTERIAN MINISTER.htm

These are their actual Ethical guidelines that all pastors of the prebyterian church must follow...if you look in section D...#4 it states " 4. All personal communication from counselees or parishioners is treated with professional confidence except as state laws require otherwise. Ministers have a legal and moral obligation to report to the appropriate civil authorities any cases of physical or sexual abuse of minors, persons with disabilities, or seniors. Ministers have a legal and moral obligation to report any threat to do physical harm.

So if CC confessed that he was GOING to hurt Rachael the pastor would have to report it. However if CC confessed that he had killed Rachael the pastor would have to keep it in confidence in accordenance with the church rules and guidelines.

Which is also why the Dr mentioned above was able to break confidence. What CC told her was a threat to DO HARM, not a confession of guilt.

Donna Mae Stamper on Facebook said, "My husband reported to the investigators this morning something he remembered seeing on the 17th of april."

Has anyone heard what her husband reported to LE?

If he's subpoenaed, he has no choice but to appear.

He can still refuse to testify. The pastor in the artical refused to testify even though he was then held in contempt of court and the church stood behind the pastor and supported him in that decision.

I believe I posted earlier that it was that he in fact saw the Yukon by Pullman and then later by some old abandoned grain silos. Don't have this as a FACT just a rumor since it has never actually been told via "media".

JMO but the whole pastor thing seems ridiculous. I can almost bet that he called to talk about "oh what am I going to do Rachael is missing" I HIGHLY doubt this man would flat out admit it to his pastor. I think the call was a "alibi" in CC's mind. Again this is just mt opinion. But from what I hear of this church and the pastor OF this church... there is NO WAY this man would rat CC out. It seems as tho this church stands by the men 100%. Hence the showing up at his last hearing to "tell what a good man Charles is"...... yeah my butt.
