Deceased/Not Found WA - Rachael Anderson, 40, Clarkston, 16 April 2010 - #5 *C. Capone guilty*

KLEWNews ‏@KLEWNews 3m
Anderson called Det. Hally of Asotin Co. Sheriff's office at 6:55 from near Capone's shop, according to tower. #CaponeTrial

Please, please tell us she either left a message that still exists, OR spoke directly with Hally.

I think we know already from her ex husband's testimony that she did not get thru to him. If she left message, was nothing incriminating.

So she was deceased and "back" in Lewiston already at 9:20pm????? is that pacific time?

Yes Pacific time ... and wow, they apparently worked fast.

I HOPE she talked to someone on ANY of those calls.

Of all the days I ache for live blog, it's when LE is testifying. Actually when everybody is testifying.

Is it truly that much effort to tweet more often? KLEW seems to be doing a fairly good job with that since they jumped in today. Actual statements of use, rather than just "2nd witness is now on the stand."

I've managed to hop off and go mobile... Can someone fill me in... Did someone SAY that Rachael caller "Norbert"... (Don't they mean Norberg?????) that day? Or have I managed to lose my mind?

That makes sense. I've been scratching my head on who the heck Norbert was. I think that tweet maybe went poof? I saw it, then reloaded the page several minutes later to see if anything new, and at least one tweet that had been there was gone. Twitter hiccup or did they delete it?

The more I think and the more I hear.. the more I read into it ... the more I agree. They are leading EVERY ONE on a wild goose chase. We have ALL said it many many times.. he is WAY TOO CONTROLLING ... not to know where she is.

BBM-Or to give Rachael back to her family.

My problem with that theory is, why would Stone bother to cover up this one aspect of the murder?

I really want Rachael's remains to be found and given to her family.

Capone will go away, he'll die in prison, I guess that's the real takeaway here. Rachael's memory will live on forever in her kids and grandchildren. I've only seen pictures of the girls, but I remember thinking; wow, those two have their Mom's beautiful smile.

I don't understand why Stone is covering up ANY of it. But then again, I don't understand a lot of it.

I would love to see Rachael brought home to her family & friends more than anything. But truth and justice certainly would help that and the dealing with it!!!

No news tonight? Just a little blurb that prosecution rests?

Precious little. I gave up on KHQ entirely.

No video from KREM. Only short story.

Posted this morning by KLEW and with good video. Some testimony shown and much more info with recap of the day.

No live blog again until closing arguments. Argh. Back to twitter as the defense mows through witnesses. Inquiring public minds would dearly love to know whose DNA was being tested for on binoculars????

Gaps, gaps and more gaps in tweets. Guess since they could exclude but not "conclude" on DNA, at the end of the day, it does not matter who belongs to?

The whole lack of tweets is driving me CRAZY!!!!

Utterly.

Gosh, a former cellmate takes the stand. An hour later they wrap for the day. Meanwhile, ZERO tweets about what that former cellmate testified to. So what we got today was I guess none of Rachael's hairs were found in the Durango.

Oh, and Capone never used "dark" trash bags at his business. Right.

Perhaps by news time this evening they'll clarify on the binoculars and what that was all about.

Yippee that defense wraps Monday. Now for a seriously strong, concise closing argument by the prosecution.

Thanks for the links. I am always happy to see them (less work ).

KLEW already has video up for today's testimony. I didn't see any clarification of anything, just a basic report, but enough pics for the archive.

More discussion of testing binoculars for DNA.

I guess if we had enough WSers on this, we could kill 6 pages trying to figure out the significance of these binoculars that suddenly get mentioned to understand what they have to do with Rachael's murder. Aw, but wouldn't it be lovely if media could take a couple sentences and fill in the blanks? I'll start that ball rolling by guessing that perhaps these were binoculars used to watch Rachael while stalking her? But then, how would anybody know that? And what would it have to do with her murder? Media folks, you win. I give.

Sadly the examiner from "con-tiko-o" :banghead: didn't explain either in the brief video of his phone testimony.

The examiners tested physical evidence like cell phones and a pair of binoculars for DNA.

"For that sample I was able to exclude specimens K1, which is a known sample identified as coming from Mr. Capone, K3 from Robert Bogden and K4 from Nathan Donner were all excluded,” said FBI Forensic DNA Examiner, Alan Giusti.

KREM either took a pass on it completely today or will post something later. Since they have not tweeted a thing in two days, I shan't hold my breath.

Perhaps there will be some renewed interest and decent tweets come Monday. The grand news is the blog should return on Tuesday if closing arguments start that day!

A fine weekend to all.

Ive been away from the forum for a long time but Ive been following the trial here in the local press.
Sorry if I re-cover stuff you guys have already been talking about.
Number one I think Stone is lying through his teeth in Court.
I dont think Rachel's body was thrown from the Bridge at the Wolf crossing either.
I think he stole that concept whole cloth from the Kristen David murder(whose remains were thrown from that bridge in 1981)
That case has been in the Lewiston Tribune fairly frequently the last several years in the context of all the local cold case murders we have here.
I think neither Stone or Capone want the body found for seperate reasons.
Capone, because he knows no body will make the job of convicting him more difficult and a conviction with no body will give him alot of material for appeals.
Stone, because he's afraid of what the DNA evidence will tell the world about the extent of his involvement.
I think his original story about the twisted pact they made to be accesories for each other in the murders of both of their wives was alot closer to the truth.
Stone knows that the forensic evidence would spell out just how twisted that pact was.( not to mention land him right in prison next to Capone regardless of whatever deals he has cut.)
Anyway thats my opinion for what it is worth.

Thank God. Last thing needed is repeat of the Arias dog and pony show. Jury may get through this before the week is out. If he stayed up there long enough, I have no doubt some jurors might catch onto him, but good manipulative liars (like his first wife stated he was) can just be too darn scary convincing in the short her, and LE just doesn't have a pile of great forensics in this one.

Personally do not wish to hear the scum speak anyway.

So will they go straight to closing arguments now, or hold for tomorrow? We were promised the return of the live blog for closings.

KLEW's recap of today. Generally confusing since defense witnesses were on the stand, not the State's. Apparently redirect?

Capone's defense team rested today. But before they did, they called upon some new witnesses with intriguing testimony.

Debra Stamper worked a graveyard shift at Dynamart the night of April 16th, 2010.

"When you go to work at 10:45 at night, you're always looking around your surroundings seeing who's out there, seeing if anybody's out there because it's kind of dark and scary back there," said Stamper.

She was asked if she saw the Yukon.

"Here's the Yukon," said Bill Thompson, Prosecuting Attorney. "Now is that the Yukon that you noticed when you got off work at 7:30 that morning?"
