Body found in Cedar River

Renton police said they are investigating a body found in the Cedar River Sunday.

The unidentified remains were found about a mile upstream from the I-405 overpass and later released to the King County Medical Examiner for further investigation.

Body Found In Cedar River Near Renton

Police say the body has been in the water for a long time and is badly decomposed. That has made it impossible to figure out the age, sex or race of the person.

Family, friends, and police are looking for a 19-year-old Renton woman who was last seen Sunday, April 18.
Kathy Chou was last seen around 7 p.m. that night and told friends she was going to Renton near Southcenter, said Renton Police Detective Bob Onishi.
