Silver Alert issued for 83-year-old Snohomish man with dementia

Deputies say 83-year-old Rodrick Lathan left his home in Snohomish at about 1:30 a.m. without telling his wife.

SNOHOMISH, Wash. — The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is hoping the public can help find a man who is the subject of a Silver Alert.

Deputies say 83-year-old Roderick Lathan left his home in Snohomish without telling his wife at 1:30 a.m. Friday.

He was driving a 2005 black GMC Sierra truck with Washington license plate #B64341V.


Lathan has dementia and does not normally drive.


He is described as white, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 160 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing light-colored pants, a brown and white flannel shirt, a dark wool jacket and a baseball cap.

Anyone who sees Lathan is asked to call 911 to report his location.

DARRINGTON, Wash. — The search continued Tuesday for 83-year-old Rodrick Latham.

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) said volunteer search and rescue teams are continuing their search after Latham's truck was found near Darrington. Latham was reported missing on Feb. 10 after he left his home in Snohomish sometime overnight.

SCSO said Latham, who has dementia and does not normally drive, left in a 2005 black GMC Sierra truck with license plate B64341V. His truck was found over the weekend off Mountain Loop Highway near Rat Trap Pass in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.

More than 30 volunteers, drones, and a search and rescue helicopter and assisting in the search.
