Something is definitely amiss in their brains. Another thing: They drove all up and down the state and then came back to pretend to innocently come onto the scene, but they didn't fake being upset or surprised, and they confessed right away. Plus, they planned the murder, but they didn't seem to have made any plans for after the murders, though they cleaned the scene and eliminated witnesses, so they were sane enough to know there could be harsh consequences for their actions.

How could no one tell how dangerous they were before it came to this?

The female murderer in all this ( she doesn't even deserve to be called by a human name) is worse than the male. She knew those kids since they were infants and had to seen them growing up since she was leeching around on the property. Probably very jealous and manipulative towards everyone to be allowed to leech that long. She saw her parents murdered and lay in wait for the others to show up knowing that the kids would be along. Evil. I hope they both rot in prison getting beat up every single day.

I saw a clip of them walking up to the house...on the news. She is a rather large women with long blond hair and he looked tall and thin. He looks pretty ragged to me. She doesn't look any better.

I take the things that Michelle has told people about her parents worth a grain of salt. They aren't here to defend themselves and neither is her brother who she claimed to love and trust. She doesn't mention her sister in her storys about abuse.

She tried to shoot her dad but missed. The only reason that Joe shot the rest of them was because Michelle couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Her parents wanted them to start paying rent...oh my gosh! No that is a reason to kill your parents. Her dad was a Boeing worker and her mom worked at the post office yet Michelle thought they had a lot of money. They were probably average incomed people. She could have gotten off her butt and found a job. Sounds like Joe was working at Target. She can't be to crazy if her brother went into business with her. I wonder if that business ever got off of the ground? She must have thought he owed her money from the business or something.

I can't even imagine looking into the eyes of those two babies and killing them. That poor mom begging him not to kill them. What a house of horrors that had to have been. Then Michelle and Joe get into their car and drive off like nothing had happened. They probably didn't have enough money to get very far and decided to come back home. You would think they would have known that LE was there. They walked right up the road to the house with police cars all over the place. Someone was walking with them but the news didn't say who it was. Looked like a younger person in their teens maybe.
Carnation WA is a real small town where everyone knows everyone. I'm sure that this has just turned this town upside down. Prayers for Mary the only living member of that whole family. Bless her heart.

i can only hope for some jailhouse justice to be served. I have a relative who is in prison, next time I talk to him i'll ask him what kinds of things are likely to happen to them while they are guests of the state.

I agree with ziggy...I too think they maybe tweekers.The black cloth over windows because of spies.I just know that meth can make a person paranoid.Maybe mental issues to begin with and then add meth on top of that.I know meth is a real big problem out in western washington.


Reading this article this morning just hurt so much because I could picture this going on so clearly.

The mom was in her room wrapping presents.Just getting ready to have a wonderful time with the grandbabies and her deranged spoiled stingy daughter starts what she did.Reading this part almost got me all choked up they tried so hard to protect their family.

Her brother and sister-in-law put up a brave struggle, according to the documents. Scott Anderson charged her when she pulled out the gun, and was shot up to four times, records say.

Then to read about the babies I had to stop and cry.Oh man this is so horrible.I really hope these two get what the deserve here in life and may they rot in hell in the after life!

Whether drugs are involved or not, these two made a conscious decision to murder an entire family in cold blood. They did not sit down at breakfast that morning and say to themselves, "Hey, I have an idea! Scott and his family are all coming over to Mom and Dad's tonight, let's murder them!" I believe this is something they had spoken of for weeks. They nourished, groomed, and fed the idea of murdering their entire family as if the idea of murder was a rare pet that was cherished and loved. The black cloth on the windows could have had as much to do with her new found love of satanism as it did with the fear that they were being spied upon. People like this wallow in their own self-pity and look outward to blame everything that goes wrong in their lives. They frequently place the greatest blame against those who try to help them. I do not believe it is mental illness that was invoved with these two. I believe they were sociopathic killers - which IMHO is not a mental illness - it is a form of evil. They may have never committed acts similar to this before. The perfect storm formed when they met each other, nurtured their hatred for their families, found satanism, and felt left out of the joy that is supposed to surround Christmas. Joe's ridiculous statements about "trying to hang on" make me sick to my stomach. Here is a news flash for you Joe, ol' boy - you aren't in control of anything anymore. You are finished. I hope they both receive the death penalty.

I didn't mean to come across like that. I had posted that prior to reading more. Joe is responsible for his own actions, yet he still chose to pull the trigger when he could have just walked away to begin with. The fact that Michelle had bad aim so he finished kills for her; well in his demented mind i guess he kills for the one he loves..

Objectively, from what i've read it sounds like Michelle's family enabled her by letting her live on the property, and when trying to get her to take some responsibility, she got mad about them wanting her to pay rent. I don't think they are schizophrenic, maybe if they were obsessing over their murderous plans for away, it made them paranoid and in their demented fantasy, they blacked out the windows. Michelle obviously never practiced shooting the guns, where did they get the guns from to begin with? If they stole them, that would add to their paranoia of people "being after them". It's doubtful they were hearing voices or anything, as anyone so extremely mentally ill would not be able to carry out the murders of 6 people, then run away, then come back.
After seeing Joe's picture after arrest, he reminds me of Charles Manson with the beard and hair bit. I wonder if they'll clean him up for trial..

They bought the guns legally during the summer according to the prosecutor at the press conference, so who knows how long they were planning the murders,

there is one surviving daughter Mary, she and her family were not on the hit list,

her reasons for the murders are just the tip of the iceberg, I think she has had resentment and hatred at her family for years,

maybe she felt they owed her an easy life, she seemed to resent the fact Scott was married and they were not so close after he married, according to her statement, so maybe that was part of the reasons she chose to include Scott, Erica and the children to be killed,

only she knows why she decided to kill her family, only he knows why he decided to kill her family,

but once decided they made sure they completed the job,

sometimes people behave in ways that are not understandable, and do things that we just can't rationalise as to why they did the things they did,

sometimes two people come together, and they spark something in each other, apart they may never have killed anyone but together they forged some type of relationship that ended with these horrific crimes,

It's a little to late for ole Joe to be thinking about what he SHOULD have done concerning his family. Does he even have any idea of what he has put his own family through! Seems like it is all about him. He has a mother who loves him and is shocked that he would do something so horrible. She said that she has been trying to find him for five years. I doubt that it would have made any difference if he had been in contact with his family. He made the decision to murder this whole family and it doesn't matter if Michelle led him by the nose...he made a choice and now he is stuck with that choice.

Michelle doesn't seem to be talking to anyone. I doubt that any of this is bothering her in the least. They should get nothing less then the death penalty even if it takes 20 years to kill them. I see that she didn't have a problem shooting her sister-in-law twice.

This case is one that shows the depth of cold and malignant hearts combining together to complete this evil force. It is amazing to me how these killing teams seem to find each other. If Michele had possibly had a different boyfriend maybe he could have stopped her or even warned her family of the impending danger.

This case reeks of entitlement imo. Never mind that Michele probably had sponged off of her family for years most likely and never tried to be a productive grounded adult. In her mindset she thought "How dare they want me to pay rent, I am Michele." Never mind she is an adult and has a boyfriend that lives with her that works. She felt her family owed her a living imo and felt she was entitled to be a freeloader forever.

It was said in some of the articles that her brother was seen often working on Michele's vehicle. She whined that he owed her money but I bet she never gave him one dime for his time when he did things for her. I am sure she expected him to do whatever she wanted.

These murders are just as senseless as the ones Earnest Lee Hargon did when he wiped out an entire family including a 4 year old little boy and had there been more in that family he would have murdered more. He did so for the same reason.....greed, revenge and filled with a black heart. These kind of murderers are whiners and losers always looking to blame someone else instead of facing the cold hard facts that they are the problem!

Michele was the mastermind behind all of this and she cozied up to just the right demon who could murder in the blink of an eye. They worked in tandem to complete their evil intentions and I sincerely hope that their sentences will be in tandem as well and they are both given the death penalty for they certainly deserve no less imo.

I think they are both psychopaths but are far from being legally insane. Their confessions show these crimes had aforethought and were carried out methodically. Even laying in wait after dragging her parents' bodies to the shed and cleaning up to wait for her brother and his family to arrive.

I think why they changed their minds about fleeing to Canada was Michele knew it was better to come back and pretend she didnt know what had happened so she would be in line for her father's assets and the articles said he had lots of money.

This case has been one of the most gut wrenching I have seen in quite awhile. So cruel, ruthless, cold and calculating. Innocent little children brutally murdered while staring into very familiar eyes. It is so haunting.

God Bless Mary Anderson! It is heartbreaking to know she had a complete family on Christmas Eve and now she is the only one left behind to deal with it all.
