Wasnt it said somewhere (in one of the articles maybe) that he had been there and left. THEN he came back and killed them? Maybe something was said when he left that made him go back for revenge.

I thought that could be the case too! But then I had read in an article that he had all this stuff in his truck already which was parked a block away. His apartment, however, was several blocks away.

Here's a map to better illustrate:

Plus, why the spray paint? That part confuses me.

Here's the first picture of the shooter I could find. Looks like a normal guy to me. I just don't get it. What has gone wrong with these people shooting others like this?

Jason Travers, 32: Sister remembers New York man as 'a free spirit'
One of the six victims of the "zombie rave'' after-party massacre was from Albany, N.Y., and spoke to his relatives just hours before the shooting.

Jason Travers, 32, was sitting in a chair and possibly asleep when the black-garbed shooter killed him and five others early Saturday, according to his father and the King County Medical Examiner's Office. The gunman committed suicide as police confronted him.

Jeremy Martin, 26: Musician always looking for fun

Jeremy Martin was equal parts social butterfly, musician, clown, collector of friends and schemer always cooking up a way to have fun.
Growing up in Mount Vernon, he tried to corral everyone around him to share in his passion -- whether it was playing with LEGOs or building a spaceship.

In Seattle, where Martin moved after high school and joined a community of performance artists and electronic music enthusiasts, he was likely to show up to work dressed as a bear or crash a party as a clown.

Saturday, the 26-year-old was one of six people killed in a shooting rampage at the Capitol Hill home he shared with friends.

Justin Schwartz, 22: Ravers remember his 'uplifting spirit'

Young people in the Puget Sound area's rave scene -- which they say stresses universal acceptance, love and peace -- tried to come to terms Sunday with one man's violent outburst.

It was particularly tough for friends of "Sushi."

Christopher Williamson, 21: His passions were computers, music

Christopher Williamson was in the front room at the after-hours party on Republican Street when the gunshots rang out.

Known by his DJ name, Deacon808, the 21-year-old North Seattle resident became either the third or fourth victim in the deadly shooting. His mother said he had intended to make it one of his last parties with the so-called rave scene.

...His mother, Sandra Williamson, said Chris was actually going to the main party at the Capitol Hill Arts Center to say goodbye to many of his friends because he was pretty much leaving the scene.
"He wasn't going to be going there anymore, but he wanted to give people his number in case they needed to get ahold of him," his mother said Sunday.

I don't know he does look like a normal guy to me IF I didnt know what he did. But because I know what he did, he looks like a big dumb goof. :( Obviously a very mentally disturbed person. He is dead so we will never know the full of it.

Police: Seattle Gunman Meant to Kill Many

SEATTLE - The young man who killed six people at a house party over the weekend had brought three guns, more than 300 rounds of ammunition, a baseball bat and a black machete, and told guests as he blazed away, "There's plenty for everyone," authorities said Monday.

Aaron Kyle Huff, 28, was "clearly intent on doing homicidal mayhem," Deputy Police Chief Clark Kimerer said.
However, investigators still have no idea why, he said.

Although they still haven't released the two female victims names who were murdered, rumors are circulating one girl is 15 year old Suzanne Thorne.

One sleuther at another forum found this story:
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/110164_gates26.shtml
with a picture of a Suzanne Thorne from 2003 who was then 12.
That could be the Suzanne Thorne who is now 15.

You can check it out if you would like.

Prayers to the families and friends of these victims.
May they rest in peace.

Victim in Seattle slayings was local 14-year-old Milton girl

SEATTLE -- Kyle Moore dropped his 14-year-old daughter off at a Tacoma bowling alley Friday night, knowing she was meeting up with older friends for a ride to a dance party in Seattle, one with a zombie theme.

He didn’t kiss her for fear of smearing her black and white makeup -- a get-up that would enable her to get into the “Better Off Undead” rave for a discounted price, $15. He didn’t hug her for fear of getting the makeup on himself.

But he did tell her he loved her as she left the car, and he’s thankful for that. The next morning, Melissa Moore of Milton, a ninth-grader at Columbia Junior High in Fife, became the youngest of six people massacred by a gunman who then took his own life.

“She liked the dancing, and she loved to meet people,” Kyle Moore said Monday as he stood outside the home where she died. He was wearing one of her T-shirts; it still smelled like her, he said.

A sad note from the story:
Morning found her sitting on the porch with two young girls she had just met. One was cold, and Melissa offered her coat. The girl took it. In it were Melissa’s camera and cell phone. Moments later, just after 7 a.m., the hulking gunman arrived. Six-foot-5 and 280 pounds, Aaron Kyle Huff had been at the party that morning. He briefly left and returned carrying bandoliers of ammunition, a pistol-grip shotgun and a handgun, police said. He blasted Melissa and one of her new friends, 15-year-old Suzanne Thorne, in the head, police said. The other girl -- the one wearing Melissa’s coat -- escaped, along with more than two dozen others.

Saturday Mourning

Survivors of the Capitol Hill Massacre on the Rave, the Afterparty, and the Hell that Kyle Huff Unleashed

At about 3:30 Saturday morning, as the rave at Capitol Hill Arts Center (CHAC) was winding down, the young people who lived at 2112 East Republican Street scanned the dance floor for people they could invite to their afterparty. They made a habit of welcoming strangers—it's how they had all met one another in the first place. They had almost finished with the invitations when Jeremy Martin, 26, spotted a hulking, solitary figure.

"Go ask him," Jeremy said to his best friend, Anthony Moulton.

Another person who lived at the home, 24-year-old Jesiah Martin (no relation to Jeremy), remembers having seen the man that night—conspicuous not just for his 6'5" 280-pound frame but for the fact that he wasn't dressed up or dancing. "He was by himself mostly, fly on the wall style," said Jesiah.
Anthony, who is disarmingly goofy in the way of most in their group, approached the man and said, "Do you know the difference between Scotch and beer?" Most at the party were drinking beer, but Anthony handed the man a flask full of Macallan. The man took a swig and grimaced. But he liked it. He even smiled, leading Anthony to say, "Hey, what are you doing after this? We have half a keg at our place…"

And that is how Kyle Huff came to visit the house on East Republican Street...

Wow! About all I can say except who lets their 14 year old go to a rave party with guys in their 20's? In fact, who lets their minor children go to a rave party period? It's one thing for the adults to do it. They are free to make their own decisions, but those girls seemed to be growing up way too fast.

How horrible for the parents of these kids...all of them. My prayers are with them.

  • #36
This story has really affected me. These kids never did anything to hurt anyone. The only reason they got killed is because they were trying to reach out and be friendly to a stranger who seemed like he needed some friends. I just don't understand how someone could do this.

  • #37
Attention parents: Rave parties are for doing drugs and staying up to dance. Pacifiers are for keeping your mouth salivating when you've taken X.

How in the world did a parent allow their daughter to go to a Rave?

Obviously they don't understand. They like the music and the dancing because they're taking X or some other drug.

Wake up!

These people were some pretty messed up kids. Their my spaces are a window into their very troubled lives.

Live the life of a warrior, die like one.

From the story I read about the 14 year old, the father was trying to be cool and let his daughter have some fun. He let her go with some friends he trusted. They weren't going to stay out all night. After the rave, the friends couldn't find her. She went off to the after party.

I don't know, I have to agree. I wouldn't let my kid go to a rave, and I always had negative impressions of them. However, after reading some of the kids' blogs and stuff, it seems like they are good kids just looking to have fun and hang out together, they all stayed in the house at the party minding their own business. True, there was alcohol and drugs. I disapprove of drugs. But most of them were of legal age. I don't know HOW the younger kids got over there.
And this nutball shooter had all this ammunition in his car, and a machete. He might have been thinking of doing this AT THE RAVE.
He could've killed many, many more people.
Who knows how many more 14 or 15 year olds were there but went home safe.

This Kyle Huff guy, the shooter, had posted a message on a message board back in February looking up when the next Rave was.
It appears he was planning something like this. Why, I still do not know, and no one does yet, not even his twin brother. But his computer has been confiscated by LE and I bet they find something. I hope they do.

Prayers to the family and friends of these victims. They were all kind spirits
with good hearts from what I read.

Raving is not exclusively based on drug use, and although 15 seems young to be at an after hours party I knew many people when I was in high school who went to raves not because of drugs but because they enjoyed the music, they enjoyed dancing, and they enjoyed the tight-knit and massively accepting community. I would be lying if I said that drugs are not an element at Raves, but for many people they are not the reason for attending.
