I spent a bit of time researching this case. I could not find any news articles or additional information regarding which remains were recovered. There is also one rule out for the case,
Patricia Krieger MP9298.
The remains were found at the exact coordinates of
48.4241961,-121.7114362. This is about a 0.4-mile walk from the nearest road. It seems remote but someone with a car could theoretically move a body there.
IMO the remains are someone who was a victim of foul play and then dumped at the location, or it's someone who got lost, intentionally or unintentionally, in the forest.
I did find some missing person cases that may be our unidentified remains.
First,
David Foster Tilton, MP29885. Mr. Tilton went missing from Trout Lake, Washington on June 9th, 2015. Mr. Tilton was scheduled to turn himself into the Yakima FBI office the next day, he was facing federal anti-child

trafficking charges. He left his residence and stated he would be "spending the night in the forest" and then would return the next morning. NamUS lists his vehicle as being located near the Pacific Crest Trail in Skamania County. However,
the FBI lists that his car was found at a car park on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest on June 13th, 2015.
IMO Mr. Tilton was planning to evade the FBI. His car location is about 165 miles from where the remains were located. It would take 55 hours to walk from his car to the location of the remains. It's plausible Mr. Tilton may have tried to travel undetected in the forest toward Canada.
Second,
Theodore Mark Stover #MP27129, went missing from Anacortes, Washington on October 29th, 2009. His ex-wife's boyfriend, Michiel Glen Oakes, was eventually convicted of his murder but did not disclose where he disposed of Mr. Stover's body. Per
The Charley Project, Mr. Stover's car was found parked at the Northern Lights Casino with bloody fingerprints smeared on the back. Mr. Stover's house was searched and police found blood smears in his bedroom and hallway and the bathroom smelled of bleach.
Mr. Oakes stated he shot Mr. Stover and his dog in self-defense at Mr. Stover's house. Mr. Stover's neighbors called police to report two suspicious vehicles trespassing at a grange hall half a mile from Mr. Stover's house. The neighbor saw a man moving a bundle wrapped in plastic from one car to another. A search of Mr. Oakes's residence yielded guns and a bloody piece of carpet that had been cut from Mr. Oakes's car. The blood stain on the carpet and in other areas of Mr. Oakes's car traced back to Mr. Stover.
We factually know that Mr. Oakes murdered Mr. Stover, and Mr. Stover's body was in his car at some point. We also know that Mr. Oakes transferred a plastic bag to another car. It's likely that Mr. Oakes and/or an accomplice dumped Mr. Stover's body somewhere close. Mr. Stover's body may have been dumped in the bay, but Mr. Oake or an accomplice may have driven to dump the body in a remote location.
Third, is
James Reed Williams #MP22686, he went missing from Marblemount, Washington on June 9th, 2009. His vehicle was found abandoned in the Marblemount, WA area. I cannot locate any additional information on him, but his car was found about 28 miles from the unidentified remains.
