One potential match who fits the demographics and timeline fairly well is Steven Needham http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...Bellevue-26-Oct-1994&highlight=Steven+needham
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/n/needham_steven.html

He suffered from schizophrenia and alcholism and went missing from a rehab facility on the other side of the state (Bellevue) in late October 1994.

Another part of me thinks this UID was not from the NW because of the boots. White's boots are made in Spokane and very popular there. Danner boots are from Oregon and also quite popular as well as all of the major workboot brands like Red Wing (afaik this was all the same in '94 as these are established companies). Corcoran appears to be based in Pennsylvania. While I'm sure they're sold throughout the county there is a lot of loyalty to regional brands in the area. They also look like they may have been military issued which would also make our pool of potential matches large.

This might be Steven Youngman, who went missing from the Spokane area in 1994. The height, weight and age are perfect matches.

Which site is this screenshot from?

This screenshot was taken from a database on the Seattle Post Intelligencer, which is defunct and no longer exists.

There was a lot of cases on there that have never been added into NamUs, such as that of Rodney Johnson who was identified earlier this year as the Lake Stickney John Doe.

If you head over to the existing thread for Darrel Roy Frye, you’ll be able to see the cases that I was able to retrieve from the website, which are limited but better than nothing I guess?

The NamUs profile for Warren David Hawkins ( MP91604) was removed two days ago. I thought it was worth mentioning, since he went missing from Washington, albeit 9 year earlier.

''It appeared that the remains located within the shallow grave had been there for an extended time, and the partial articles of clothing collected suggested 1980’s styles. John Doe’s death was labeled as a homicide given the circumstances around the discovery of his remains. Details of the case were entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) as UP59510 and the man was commonly referred to as “Skeleton in Sneakers."
In 2024, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office submitted forensic evidence to Othram in The Woodlands, Texas to determine if advanced DNA testing could help identify the man. Othram scientists successfully developed a DNA extract from the forensic evidence, and then used Forensic-Grade Genome Sequencing® to build a comprehensive genealogical profile for the unknown man. Othram’s in-house forensic genetic genealogy team then used this profile to conduct genetic genealogy research, ultimately providing new investigative leads to law enforcement.''

'Forensic evidence was submitted to Othram’s laboratory in The Woodlands, Texas where DNA was extracted. Using Forensic-Grade Genome Sequencing®, an ultra-sensitive comprehensive DNA profile was developed for the unknown man. The DNA profile was then submitted for forensic matching allowing Othram’s forensic genetic genealogy team to develop new investigative leads in the case.

These leads were provided to law enforcement, who launched a follow-up investigation leading to the identification of the man, ending a nearly thirty-year mystery, providing investigators and the man’s family with answers at last. The man's name will not be released at this time, at the request of his family.'
