I firmly believe that since he was seen pacing back and forth earlier in the day he was waiting for someone to come and pick him up or to see him. I am guessing somebody he loved and when they didn't show up he became very upset and gave up on his life. It did seem as though he planned his death very well but he had to of stayed/worked some place previously.

I confess that I have not read all of the threads but I have some thoughts. Please forgive me if they have already been mentioned. As far as the handwriting on the notes, maybe he wrote the first two, messy ones with his left hand if right handed and vice versa, so that the handwriting was not recognized. Now to his nationality, when I very first looked at his face I thought he looked like a gypsy. Now I know this not politically correct and don't mean to offend but that is what I thought. I am assuming that Romanian might fit that as well. Did his autopsy state whether or not he had any illnesses? That might be why he lost so much weight. Maybe he had HIV or AIDS. Just some thoughts.

I have been looking through the Lyle Stevik threads, but I can't find a list of people who have been ruled out.

Those are awesome pics KBS!!! It was "Lyle" that got me into WS (he just haunts me)...and I would love nothing more than to see him home...He looks like a guy who would have some friends/family, even if its just the one...

I did another search and saw where you posted that in March. Oh well, they seemed to have so much in common.

I hope Mr Fraser's family finds some closure and Lyle gets his name back someday.

Someone else said he looked Bosnian. I also thought he could be Mediterranean and or from any other part of Eastern Europe. Someone else thought he looked Roma. I wonder if LE has checked immigration unless he isn't a legal immigrant if he did immigrate. I was going to mention he could be from Israel but then I'm just throwing it out there. I'm also thinking he could be a refugee of some sorts.

since the woman at the hotel said he may have had a slight canadian accent, i've been searching on canada missing persons sites (which are few and far between). do we know if they tested his body for drugs/medications? could have be the reason for his weight loss.

They didn't find drugs or meds in his system, he was also negative for illness

KBS, can I post the link for your new Lyle reconstructions on Porchlight International? You should try doing other recons of him with different hair styles/hair colors

but yeah poor lyle, he's another one thats on my mind all the time! but besides looking through missing persons lists is there anything else that could be done??? I know sometimes they do the craigslist ads .. anything else that can be done? (not sure whats acceptable!!!!)

It's even possible he is from Alaska. The natives from there have the same skin undertones etc. He might have been from the area also. I believe he commited suicide there in the motel instead of where he lived so no one would know.
