What are the chances that now the crimes are being proven, with allegations in other states, reports of unresponsive authority in other states, government contracts funding an illegal organization... what are the chances that the sentate will now start looking at/investigating this? That is one way to make sure that the other states become more aggressive.

I certainly hope this is the case. But I worry. The LDS church and the FLDS have much power and $$$ in the western US. I fear that even authorities who are not members of either will "elect" to turn the other cheek, as it were. There's a huge Mormon population in Vegas, many of whom are rumored to own the very land the casinos are built upon. Nevada Senator Harry Reid, house majority leader, is Mormon. Sadly, I believe if he takes a hard line against these people, he will feel the impact of it in his next election. So, he will not take a hard line. And the abuse will be allowed to continue.

After watching the women on TV today giving interviews about there kids & answering questions...I seriously can't imagine them caring who pleased him most. Or what happened in there lives. Each one was like a ziombie What they said seemed to be totally rehersed.

Like the Stepford Wives.

I just cannot see this. I imagine the older wives have become the "enforcers" of the sect because they have otherwise outlived their usefullness - there anyway. You know that all those old men with numerous young wives are not visiting their "old" wives anymore. These women have seen firsthand how their own young sons can and will be turned out. Can you possibly believe they don't fear for their own futures?

After watching them on TV to show any type of emotion even for the missing kids. They honestly never showed much emotion. Except when they were asked questions & they positively weren't going to answer anything reporters asked.

Reporters all should of told them to go cry in there beer & walk away. LOL That would of freaked them.

Wouldn't take the old men long to haul another batch of girls in & impregnate them too. So they can start all over again. The women could care less......they don't care about there kids at all.

I've been thinking about this as I ran a few errands this afternoon. This is just speculation on my part, but consider this scenario...........

On March 29th, Sarah made the call to a help line, giving her name - Sarah Barlow - and stating that she had been abused. She gave details of her sexual and physical abuse, and said she was 16 and had a 10-month-old daughter and was a few weeks pregnant.

On March 30th, Sarah made a second call and back-tracked, saying she had made a mistake and that she was happy. She wanted her first call disregarded.

On April 3rd, the sheriff enters the YFZ ranch to investigate, and on April 4th, Child Protective Services begins removing children from the ranch.

In this scenario, Sarah makes the call on March 29th, but is caught - perhaps by a sister-wife, who reports to her husband. Sarah is confronted and told she is to make a second call and retract what she told the authorities.

Sarah makes the call on March 30th and after the call is made, Sarah is taken away from the YFZ ranch to another location. I suspect she was taken by the women who later claimed they were "out of town" when the ranch was raided and their children taken.

If Sarah and the women left the next day, March 31st, and the women didn't get back until sometime after CPS began removing children on April 4th................... they traveled a long distance.

We don't know when the women returned, but at the minimum, they were gone 5 - 6 days. That would make their destination 2 to 3 days from El Dorado, Texas.

The FLDS may have acted to remove Sarah from the YFZ ranch under the belief that if authorities investigated, they would be looking for Sarah. They had no idea of what was about to unfold! None of them dreamed the authorities would remove ALL the children.

History tells us that sometimes women escape from the FLDS, but they sometimes don't get their children out. In this case, it's doubtful that Sarah's 10-month-old daughter went with her. Sarah's baby may be among the children that were removed.

Weeks down the road, when most all of the children have been identified, CPS may have one 10-month-old girl that remains unidentified. If the baby can somehow be identified as Sarah Barlows, the FLDS can't claim that Sarah Barlow doesn't exist.

I think you're onto something Leila. That's why they can now claim she doesn't exist on the Eldorado compound.

I'm sorry, but I cannot imagine kissing hubby at night and then watching him go to bed with someone else, anyone else... but my little sister???!!! Can you imagine sleeping with him afterwards and wondering if another wife pleased him more?

Still, we tend to compare to our own lives. Their lives are different. Maybe they don't watch them off to bed with another. Maybe they all go to bed together.

No, I saw some interviewed once. There is competition among the women for who gets to sleep with the man each night. SICK!!!:sick::sick::loser::bang:

Thank you! That is what I wanted to know. Just how many took advantage of getting away from the lifestyle forever.

Regarding the Wetv special on polygamy. Its been PULLED, and is no longer going to air this show on the 29th. Instead it is airing a "psychics"

http://wetv.com/shows/secretlives/episodes/EP007909200032

Wonder if the police authorites, have asked them not to air it. Baby grave yard!? Maybe they are going to investigate this, with FBI etc!?

Its already declared a federal crime scene so maybe that is why its not airing.?!

Darrell Azar, spokesman with the Department of Family and Protective Services, said agency officials believe they won’t have success interviewing the children until after Thursday’s custody hearing, when he expects a judge to order their move to foster homes or small group homes.

“We will never learn the full truth as long as there are adults who encourage a code of silence and stand over the children’s shoulders coaching them,” Mr. Azar said in advance of a Tuesday press conference. “Unfortunately these women have been unable or unwilling to protect these children from a pattern of sexual abuse in the past.”

"Mr. Azar said some of the children in their custody do not even appear to have parents in Texas, let alone at the Eldorado compound, and that it will take DNA testing to determine who’s related to whom."

They could have been asked to delay the program or a decision was made to pull it by the station for their own reasons. They might have decided to do a bit more filming and add to the program in light of the current events.

LOL, when reporters interview FLDS "parents", maybe they ought to start asking them the names and ages of their children. That ought to quiet them down some and maybe even help the state in identifying the kids.

Second prize starts to look pretty good.
At least being in last place one could hope that he'd be worn out and lose interest by the time he got to your turn.

Won't happen mores the pity. At least we know now that's why those women were removed contrary to their pity parties in front of the media.

This goes along with the report that Warren Jeffs sent children younger than 6-years-old to the YFZ ranch. According to reports, the building began in 2003 and went quickly. We can assume that Warren Jeffs started sending people there in late 2004 or in 2005. So, some of these children have been away from their biological parents for at least 3 years and maybe more. I can imagine some of the children are very confused about their parentage.

Edited to add............it sounds like after Thursday's hearing, the mothers who are being allowed to remain with their children if they're 5 and younger, will also be given the option of returning to the YFZ ranch or a shelter, as the children are moved into foster homes or small groups homes.

Yemeni, now here's a place for the sect. This story is about an 8 year old who was granted a divorce. Note the "marriage" was consumated. Sick...

That is another sad issue in the world. Young girls are often kidnapped and raped. After that they are viewed as tainted goods no longer of value. At that time, the parents often marry the girls off to the kidnapper/raper without receiving a dowry for damaged goods. I believe the culture almost views it as better to marry the girls young then it is to have them kidnapped, raped, and then married young without getting a dowry.

There are so many sad things in this world and so many evil evil people.

When I turned on Fox this AM, they were interviewing 3 women from the ranch. Everything they said sounded scripted and rehearsed, and they would only talk about how the children needed their mothers and how terrible the separation was and how badly they were treated.
