It is a cult that most of you have never heard about. Howver the mind control techniques are the same, as well as the programming.

Funny how they are all:

"The one and only true church. If you leave you go to hell."

CPS is now out of the comound, and it has now turned into a CRIMINAL investigation.

Obviously, they've legally retrieved evidence that makes this a criminal investigation!

BTW I may be heading down to Texas to help the authorites, based on my cult experience. They have told me that they could aboslutly use, me, and will set further details up. These children need people that understand mind control more so then plain therapy at this time.

The Short Creek Raid - July 26, 1953

Kidnapped from that Land
The Government Raids on the Short Creek Polygamists

Short Creek raid

Just before dawn on July 26, 1953, 102 Arizona state police officers and soldiers from the National Guard entered Short Creek. The community—which was composed of approximately 400 Mormon fundamentalists—had been tipped off about the planned raid and were found singing hymns in the schoolhouse while the children played outside. The entire community was taken into custody, with the exception of six individuals who were found not to be fundamentalist Mormons. Among those taken into custody were 236 children. One hundred and fifty of the children who were taken into custody were not permitted to return to their parents for over two years, and some parents never did regain custody of their children.

After the Short Creek raid, the Mormon polygamist colony at Short Creek eventually rejuvenated. Short Creek was renamed Colorado City in 1960.

Following is a PDF:

Helping Victims of Domestic Violence and Child Abuse in Polygamous Communities
A joint report from the offices of the Attorney Generals of Arizona and Utah.

I personally think there is going to be huge legal ramifications from this latest raid in Texas.

I think the raid in Texas is going to establish the legal precedents to allow authorities to go into the Colorado City and Hilsdale communities.

That gave me a chuckle. There is an LDS temple in Provo that IMO, looks like a flying saucer. It's really hideous and alot of members of the LDS faith don't like it either. Below is a link to pics of it:

ETA: do you think I'd get arrested for spray painting..."Beam me up Scotty!"

Now my neighbor got married in the gorgious Manti temple. When non LDS people look at her wedding pics they say "how did you afford that???!!!" Links to the Manti pic is below. Absolutely beautiful.

Oh go ahead and do it SuziQ. Hee
And WOW! That has to be one of the most beautiful structures I have seen! A bit European castle-ish.

I am not a follower of a 'traditional' fatih anymore, but I am still fascinated by the buildings. I was in Wilmington NC a few weekends ago and geez there are 2 on every corner in the older downtown area. Anyway there was one church with a big steeple and you could tell it was more recently built and another older church down the block. The older church has a steeple that is ginormous! It did not fit with the structure at all...it must have been 'updated' after the one down the block was built and it had a bigger steeple. I chuckled and said I have heard of penis envy with men, but steeple envy was a knew one on me.

Thank you for such an informative post i.b.nora!

I read the primer at your link. I hope that the people who are now in charge of these women and children will be aware of even just some of the simplest of things that they can do to make the "shock" for the FLDS folks lessened a little. For example, just dressing modestly around them and avoiding the wearing of red...simple things like that. They cost nothing and might help to bridge the gap a bit. That would be good all the way around.

As for your thought about the legal ramifications...I guess we will have to see how this all plays out wont we? One thing I know is when you take a persons lifestyle away through force, you become responsible for that persons well being as to their whole life style, including their emotional, mental and spiritual well being. That is an enormous amount to be responsible for and especially in view of the sizable number of people involved here.

Because there are nay sayers and people who do truly believe that entering a religous community was wrong (not me, I am behind the entry and the investigation) but because there are naysayers, I hope they do continue giving out info about their findings. I think that as info gets out about what was found, there will be fewer and fewer naysayers and more pressure on the other states to investigate their communities.

Lmao, the image of two congregations in a stand off with rulers is cracking me up.

Good luck Ladybass! My heart goes out to you!!!!
This entire thing must be very scarey for them all.
I'm sorry you will have to endure such a thing again.
But at least you can help them.

Yes, Leila, not to mention that DNA is going to identify the same genes. It might be difficult to determine whether a child has been impregnated by her father, uncle, or grandfather. Yuck.

I've been listening to Fox News as I read this board, and Shepard Smith interviewed two attorneys about the FLDS raid. One of them said this is going to take years to prosecute each and every case.

DNA is going to play an important part in these cases. Interesting that many of the childrens surnames are Jeffs or Jessop.

I listened to a noon report on MSNBC.
Looks like Glow and a few others will get their wishes and have their concerns settled with little of no seperation of the girls and their moms and the children and their moms.:furious:

The MSNBC reporter said this 'cult' lawyers up big time so they can keep things nice and locked up at the compound.

So far, the reporter said LE found-- IN THE COMPOUND--- sexual toys used on the girls aged 12,13,14,15,16. :furious:
Glow,
How nice of you to want the raped and sexually abused young women to go back to the compoud.
(You must not have daughters to care so little.)

I don't think anyone wishes to have them go back to the criminal aspect of their lives. I think some are concerned about the upheaval in the process of removing them. If not done correctly could be very psychologicaly damaging.

ETA: when I say them, I'm referring to the children.

I also have a heavy heart when considering that constitutional rights may be violated.

But, I figure the children's rights to be safe trump the churches. And yes, Mr. Smarty Pants Lawyer, that includes abandoning children because you think that they're not "good enough" to belong to your church.

Absolutely!

I don't think anyone need worry about that. They have cult professionals going down there to help them. They just need to hold on a bit. The calvary is coming!
