Right. Exactly. I agree. So, If my post made it sound as though I thought otherwise, I apologize. Head wound then molestation or vice versa, then the redressing, then the ligature strangulation outside the WR. After that, the staging and undoing including the move to the WR.

No worries, I was just posting my thoughts as well. Such a horrific violation of this little girl. It's just so sickening.

Longtime semi-lurker, but have never really gone down the rabbit hole on this one, as it's always seemed to me a situation of people overly obsessed with a case involving a cute little white girl (e.g., Caylee Anthony). But I've dipped my toes in enough to have some of the basics, and understand some of lingo (BDI, IDI, etc), and I do get that it's a super weird case.

I do have one question as I've noticed the flurry of activity and I see stuff that seems "new" to me being discussed--what's the primary source of the new info? People keep talking about these pictures of the underwear that are new, but where did they come from? I know there's also been the news about the sketchy DA, and some lawsuit with Burke?

If someone could give me a thumbnail sketch of the cause of the current uptick in activity, I'd appreciate it.

(This is not a setup for me to argue the validity of sources. I am definitely not qualified. I will say "BDI" is about the only plausible-seeming thing I've heard, though, as a relative outsider.)

Thanks! So the 20 year anniversary was the "inciting incident". Any of the documentaries worth checking out? I'm typically not a fan of basic-cable-news crime journalism, but definitely open to suggestions. (I'm about to go see how Wikipedia is documenting the case these days, so I guess the rabbit hole is open ... I don't think anything about this case ever clicked for me (I don't care for the seemingly unsolvable ones) until the BDI stuff got stronger. )

Do you guys think the recent wave will result in any "movement" on the case, particularly the sketchy DNA "exoneration"?

In a nutshell, the spike in activity this week is due to the new article posted by Colorado's "Daily Camera", which says tDNA found in JBR's underwear and longjohns, which former Boulder district attorney Mary Lacy based her exoneration of the entire Ramsey family on, can be a combination of samples from several people, not just one unidentified source. In other words, the DNA in this case, which many base their intruder theory on, is likely meaningless.

Of all the TV programs, the one that got the most attention and had the least R bias was the one CBS did - "The Case of: JonBenet Ramsey". It's probably worth your time.

I personally don't think this case will be officially solved as there is not enough evidence to convict beyond a reasonable doubt. But what was done to this little girl in her own home is shocking, unbelievable, and makes no sense why. Everyone is trying to figure out what happened, why it happened and how this horrible thing happened in order to solve it. People want it solved for justice for Jon Benet. People want those responsible behind bars. But it doesn't seem like that's gonna happen.

I did in fact run through the Wikipedia article (I know some people still have 'issues' with Wikipedia, but what I read there seems to align with what I see here in the forums). It's also been updated with this last month's developments. One thing I didn't realize was how many times her body was moved, including AFTER police were already involved. The level of incompetence is nuts.

I came away from the article with the distinct suspicion that some people got paid off. I'm guessing this can't be any sort of shocking conclusion to reach.

And as someone with relatively 'fresh' eyes (other than decades of seeing her picture on the cover of People), between lurking here and reading the updated info, it seems like it's fairly obvious what happened. Maybe not down to exact details, but pretty dang close.

Yes much thinner. This is why babies and childrens skulls are called eggshell skulls.

The child brain is imminently more susceptible to a concussion for a number of reasons. A child’s head is proportionately significantly heavier than the rest of their body compared to an adult’s, making children particularly susceptible to head and neck injuries. Additionally, a child’s skull is thinner, making their brain more susceptible to injury usually prevented by an adult full thickness skull. Moreover, a child’s brain is in a developing state and continuing to make nerve connections. Any disruption could hinder this development process and potentially result in lifelong problems.

One of our members here has done quite a lot of experimentation, and unlike Dr. Spitz, he does not believe that the maglite flashlight was the murder weapon. He was speculating that it was a golf club, partly because there is a history of that instrument causing harm to JBR, and the golf clubs were in the basement right about where JBR likely died (on the carpet in front of the cellar room). But it could have been almost anything heavy and cylindrical, was otg's ultimate conclusion. Maybe LE knows what the weapon was and has never released that information.

Speaking of the bed, I always found it strange how it was left, with the pillow near the foot of the bed, and the covers pulled quite far back. If an intruder broke in and was trying to pull her out of bed, I would imagine he wouldn't have pulled back the covers so forcefully backward off her body and that the pillow would have been left at the head of the bed.

I know the image you're referring to as an "x-ray" is widely accepted as such, but just for the record, I don't believe it actually is. It's simply a negative, black and white representation of the color photo that was "doctored" by NBC for one of their shows in the past. But there was no evidence of bleeding from her head wound. The scalp was intact. The ME wasn't aware of any head injury until he reflected the scalp.
