Was Burke Involved # 5

He didn't need a flashlight to go downstairs to play with a toy. The Ramseys left some lights on and it appears all or most of the Christmas lights were on and he was certainly tall enough to reach any needed light switches.

I don't know about that. John had to kneel on the floor in his underwear in order to read the ransom note. So overdramatic these Ramsey's are.

Ears stay the same throughout life. Back when people were claiming to be lost the 80 year old Grand Duchess Anastasia, ear comparisons of photos were done for this very reason He's had "work done" as they, say for sure. Only question is - did Patsy do it (horrible) or did he do it (strange)?

I'd say thicker hair and a little longer to cover the big ears is a much more likely explanation.

Oh you are right! It never really dawned on me she had makeup on Burke. Just my opinion, Patsy didn't really know how to relate to having a little boy. Lots of dominant women in that family.

For many years I just didn't consider Burke because I had not really studied the case and just bought the party line he had been cleared and it was not even a consideration. It's really very sobering and sad because these are real people, and it now seems just a perfect storm. This was a real, sweet little girl that lost her life on Christmas at the hands of the brother I'm sure she loved and looked up too.

My thoughts on this have always been Burke (the brother) killed JonBenet and The Ramsey's cleaned it up to make it look like an intruder did it.

How I wish Beth would comment on their relationship. I haven't seen or heard anything about her recently...wonder how she's doing and what she would have to say if she ever would say anything.

Catching up on the thread and I wanted to agree with this. I really wonder what she thinks after getting to know him. I don't know much about the Holloway case but I know Beth was incredibly active in the investigation and has done a lot of advocacy work since, two things you can't say about John Ramsey. Perhaps that's what he means by them being at different points in the grief cycle - it was still eating her alive that her daughter's killer was free while John didn't feel much of a need to do anything about tracking down that intruder. He'd moved on, you know.

Considering how many other prominent parents of murdered children have questioned the Ramseys' guilty behavior (Dominick Dunn and Marc Klaas come to mind), I wonder if she ever got creeped out by him. I would. Brrrr.

Beth Holloway was on a mission to see that her number one suspect be held accountable for her daughter's murder. JR had no suspect. Beth was never a suspect in her daughter's murder, JR was in his. Beth was locked in anger, JR was in acceptance. That was never going to work.

And to be fair, not every parent of a murdered child becomes an advocate for anything. In fact, so few do, we can name them. Thousands of children are murdered every year, we don't even know their names much less their parents' names.

I don't think I've seen this before so I figured I'd post it here. It's "normal" Burke's "Congratulations from Mom and Dad" page from his HS yearbook (ah, millennials. Back in the day we just wrote stuff under our own pictures in the yearbook about Led Zeppelin and "that time with that special guy under the bleachers" that our parents never even looked at and we were glad for it). JBR even makes an appearance in a large group photo which just strikes me as odd. But not as odd as that outfit Patsy had little Burke decked out in. I remember 1990 well, and I cannot recall boys ever being dressed like that.

What is that front piece of material even called? A dickie?

A dickie was one of those things people would wear under their shirt to make it look as though they had a turtleneck underneath.

This is an old-fashioned looking sailor collar. Not so cute for boys.. very feminine, imo. I wonder if BR approved of this before it was submitted to the yearbook staff. I'll bet he did.

If Burke was involved, one thing is certain: the parents had no idea about the pineapple or they would have incorporated it into their version of events. The goal of the Ramseys' story is to close the timeline -- they maintain they were all in bed no longer than an hour after arriving home.

None of this strikes me as weird. Our yearbooks did pages like this in the back mixed with ads, back in the early 90s. And my younger brother had a sailor suit just like little Burke's there. I had a matching dress, we wore them for Easter or something in the 80s (I was maybe 3 and he was 1 at the time).

Interesting school dance or prom photo. I would love to know if the women he's dated just have nothing of interest to say, if they've been kept quiet with money somehow, or he just engenders loyalty somehow. You would think if he was as ill as we've speculated, some love interests would have a story to sell.

Lin Wood probably requires that BR's dates sign a non-disclosure agreement, hence, no sold stories.

Would your brother have chosen a picture of himself in a girly looking sailor suit for his yearbook? I know this has Patsy written all over it, and its a different generation than the one I grew up in, but I cannot imagine any guy I knew wanting a "Look everyone, Mom wanted a girl!" photo included unless he was joking about it. Unless Patsy didn't run it by Burke first, which might tell us something about their relationship.

I don't think Burke is "ill". Very different, odd perhaps, but not sick in a classical sense. Since returning to his classroom in January of 1997 he appears on the surface to have had a typical life. But something about this collage feels staged to me. No pun intended.

What is the black silhouette image in the middle?
And why does it remind me of someone who is running and
shielding themselves from a person who is attempting to violently assault them?

That was the first thing I saw and the impression I got the first time I ever saw this photo.

Yeah, it just looks like a kid doing tricks on a skateboard. I used to do that when I was a teenager. I was terrible at it, but my bff could do 360s and all sorts of stunts. I was very envious of her. ;)

OIC. I just couldn't see it. My second guess was some kind of weird dance move. LOL
