IMO these were the most important issues.
1. Motion to seal
No ruling yet, will be heard at a future court date
If he wins on this one, we will lose any ability to get info on what is happening.
5. Motion to compel department of children and family records
Denied, Baez has to retile
He will eventually get this one anyway since it most likely relates to the neglect charges. But I do have to wonder if there were any previous investigations either of Casey or Cindy.
8. Motion for allowing defendant to travel to places of interest
No ruling yet, will be heard at a future court date
If Fla gives her this one, I am going to seriously question the purpose of bond/house arrest in Fla. Is it really meant to protect or is it a means of raising funds for the county. I mean what is the purpose of putting her into electronic monitoring if they are going to allow her to take it off whenever she wishes. They have talked about how much monitoring costs the county. So why pay to put it on her if they are going to allow her to take it off when she likes?
So when the next person suspected of killing someone and pays their bail, if they decide they don't want to stay home, will Fla. allow them to get out and run around doing as they please? After all, they will have their bond money.
I agree with you, but wanted to comment on #5. Baez may get this on down the road, I don't know. I don't know what obligation child services may have in releasing this type of information. The bad thing about the motion though is, JB filed the motion against the state when the state doesn't have the authority to comply with such a request. He did the same thing where the FBI was concerned.
