I'll put a call in to the judge and tell him to drag his feet.........
:floorlaugh:
With this Judge, you better make that just a portion of one foot. Not both.

I think in the Jason Young trial they went to lunch and then comeback with a verdict. If I'm remembering correctly...
The JY jury got the case on a Friday mid-morning and returned their verdict the following Tuesday, about an hour or 2 before lunch.
goodmorning gals and fellas!

SWIMMING WITH THE SHARK
Insight from Drew Peterson defense lawyer Joseph R. Lopez

We arrived to court Tuesday with a throng of reporters waiting in the parking lot. Immediately, as we hooked in our MacBook, we had problems. It would not communicate with the overhead projector in the courtroom, and panic kicked in. Now what? We emailed the presentation to a Windows laptop of our colleague. The presentation was reconfigured. OMG!! The state was just starting its case. Like a surgeon, Lisa quickly went to work trying to salvage it. She had to type with the screen halfway closed, to keep it concealed from the sketch artists and the gallery. Voila! She finished and ran spell check -- another disaster, some words were misspelled as I stood at the podium launching into my attack displaying one slide after another using references to "Pulp Fiction", "King of the Hill", the Cheshire Cat from "Alice in Wonderland, the Hollywood sign, a photo of Larry the Cable Guy and a picture of a Starbucks. The presentation was well received by the jury, and they were able to read along as I argued one slide at a time for 2 hours and 20 minutes. It was effective as it kept their attention.
I could see a verdict happening this afternoon. I could also envision them going until tomorrow (Fri) after lunch. A jury that stays out a bit longer seems to have their verdict accepted more by the opposing side. If a jury comes back quickly (say, in less than 7 hours), sometimes there will be complaints about the jury not taking their jobs seriously and rushing because they just want to get home. Of course perception is always a variable thing. If a jury takes "too long" (whatever amount of time that is), that's not considered good either.
Glad you're here, nurse! Are you locked & loaded this morning??![]()
If the jury doesn't come back with a verdict after lunch I am going to start worrying. I don't want them to start over analyzing everything. I know they have a lot to discuss and look at, but there should be some sort of general consensus by now unless someone or more than one is holding out.
I'm getting sceered, ya'll!
Yes and unfortunately if he is found NG there will be another young, naive girl in his life despite his reputation:banghead:
I hear what you are saying. Too much information can bog one down for sure. It really is a simple case. Domestic abuse that continued when the couple parted. He threatened to kill her. She told others. And he followed thru.

Day 2 of deliberations and according to Judge Burmila, sequestration "remains a possibility" for the #DrewPeterson jury http://www.hlntv.com/article/2012/09/06/will-there-be-verdict-drew-peterson-trial-today?hpt=ts1
