Websleuths is changing our colors

Hmm. High contrast is gone, so I had to switch back to Orange is the New Blue. And as a personal opinion, while this font is cool, it is not conducive to readability.

I really like that the quote boxes are now in color like before! It is a lot better now, thank you for making that change @fraize! The Watched Threads page is still difficult to look at because all the threads are the same color - although bold and not bold. The read ones were gray before - any chance they could be made gray again please?

mad🤬Also noticed that some of the earlier threads have many 🤬🤬🤬🤬, like the original text has dropped and replaced with 🤬 by mistake.
I've seen that in place of censored words. One emoji for each letter. I did a test to determine that. lol Although, some people can add those emojis to threads now like I did here: 🤬

On my phone at night, the background is all black. Quoted post too, makes it hard to read. Just commenting, not whining :)

I second the motion 😊

High Contrast has been folded into Websleuths_2025, so you can use that instead.

Thank you for the answer. For some reason, the blue appears lighter than the high contrast, at least it looks that way on my phone. I noticed I couldn't read it as well immediately.

Your work is greatly appreciated!

MOO, it ruins the look of a post, and makes it seem like I'm posting something unacceptable. It just hates the word and I have to type each letter separated -- p o r n. Why that word? It's used in everyday speech. I happen to be following a case with the article title using that word, and it makes the link unlinkable. Wait I'll be back with an censored article title..........................................................

It won't let me get the link here because of the censored word. You can find it if you search with the article title. I tried, but the link doesn't go to the actual article anymore.

SEMENTILLI TRIAL: P O R N snaps and videos of Monica taken at time of Fabio's funeral

The word is used in the article headline, so shouldn't be censored. MOO

What I found also bad was when a word would simply be deleted. Other times it was subbed with *Advertiser Censored* which is MUCH preferable than deleting the word. At least with *Ad Cens* you know there's a word missing, but if the word just disappears, it can change what your sentence says. Sometimes it ends up not making sense. I'd love for ALL the censored words to be *Ad Cens* and not deleted so you can't tell.

<modsnip: Off topic in this thread>

PS - Can we get "p o r n" removed as a bad word since a fair amount of cases here have people arrested for child 'p o r n'? Take Maddie Soto's case for example. Curious Me's example is a good one too. It's in the title, so... lol

I use the Dark option most now. I noticed today that when I specifically used the quote function that the box isn't a noticeably different color. These kind of quotes are often excepts from articles and should stand out as different from a member's quote box. It's basically the same color as the member's quote box. I can live with it, but if it could easily be changed, MOO, I think a border around an actual quote or a slightly different hue would make it stand out and differentiate it more.

Frozen grapes: They’re juicy, refreshing and great to grab on the go. You can make these more filling (and prevent a blood sugar crash) by eating them alongside almonds or another nut.

Here's how the "quote" looks in the orange-black.

^^^ I meant excerpts. These kinds of quotes are often excerpts from articles. Look at it in Dark mode. It doesn't stand out like a special quote and lacks the emphasis. Just something I noticed not liking as much as how the orange-black theme treats a excerpted quote. I do like the Dark 2025 though.

String cheese and cherry tomatoes: It’s not quite pizza, but it’s the next best thing. String cheese delivers protein and calcium, while cherry tomatoes add vitamin C.

So that's what's happened. I've been confused by that. I thought it meant the poster was especially angry but then I started noticing it wasn't making sense in the context.

Between this and the hard-to-see topic titles, it's getting more challenging to comprehend here!

IMO of course.
