Websleuths is changing our colors

once I chose the WS 2025, the icon disappeared and I can't seem to get it back
It's a toggle. You should be able to toggle back and forth.

yes I switched successfully but then couldn't find it again to switch to dark mode 🤣

All MOO here-- larger easier to read text size is needed if possible. The Light Mode is almost too light. The orange black scheme gave some relief with it's dynamic contrast. Bears repeating, IMO, the new heading banner design needs that magnifying glass moved because it's blocking the W.

Turns out I like the contrast of the Orange Black scheme much better than I realized. It has a unique bolder look to me. I always knew when I arrived on Websleuths. Whereas, there's so many Dark Mode sites and Blue scheme sites. Any chance the new Light Mode with Blue could be more closely modeled to the contrasting elements of the orange black?

However, the Dark Mode is coming along and I like it.

I will commit, however, to make a higher-contrast theme before shutting Black-Orange down.

I was using the orange black mode when I posted several long posts on various threads. Now, when I went back in the Dark Mode all those posts I made in orange black mode are unreadable. They're showing up like below examples with a dark overlay. Show up fine if I go into Light or O/B mode. I guess it has something to do with a programming command. Question-- why do some of my posts done on orange black mode make the transition into dark, and these didn't?

I better try to stay in one mode, huh. BUT my posts when I was sticking to the orange black mode can't be seen by people using the Dark mode? Yet not consistently happening that way, so confusing.

Thanks for pointing this out. I've fixed the first post you've screenshotted. It's important to note that if you change the color of the font in your posts, it will override the theme's colors. So, if you forcibly apply black to the font via the formatting toolbar, it'll make the font-color black for everybody – including those who prefer the dark-mode.

So this text looks white on my screen, but if I force the font to be almost-white, light-mode users can't read it. Same thing goes with dark-text.

Thank You for explaining that fully. Thank You for working with us too. I like to use the Verdana font, but it has a lighter black text if I'm typing on a Light mode. I often highlight my typed text then go into colors and select the blackest black. A useless habit because it didn't even seem to make my text look darker, so I will stop that habit immediately. Not sure that is what made my posts look like there was a dark overlay, but it seems to fit what you're saying. Mainly forcefully changing the text or detail color to a white or black is going to affect other mode views.

Thinking about this 🤔 .... I often change colors for certain words and details and realized last night it may have different effects now. I had made a line purple, but when I went to continue and change the color back to black, I suspected it may cause problems for different modes. Thanks again.

Yeah, I too have used different colored text to highlight certain words/phrases. I guess I need to worry if people will be able to read it as the whole purpose of doing that was to highlight it for viewers. Make it stand out. Not make it impossible to read if someone has a different colored background than I do. :(
