Websleuths is changing our colors

@fraize, please, my stars at the bottom of all my posts were horizontal in a row, and are now vertical? What happened? It's showing like that on all my posts on the Orange-Black, but not on the Beta Dark theme. What happened?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^What about my post?

Oh, something else changed. @fraize, profile names within a post are not showing up blue anymore in the Orange-Black theme. My stars are taking up so much space!
@iulia @Gemmie now you see why when I say I can't maintain Black-Orange forever, I wasn't kidding! It's going to take me a while to dig in to what's happening. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'll put it on the list.
I feel ignored. Yes, it's true, the emoji goes to the next line. 😥 As you can see in Orange-Black theme, my stars aren't in a neat row across anymore, and they take up much more space. Can you put it back the way it was please?

When you press on Alerts, the word post has lost its hyperlink.
Yeah, I have this problem, too. The link for the thread is the same colour as the unclickable text.

And it's not just in the dropdown, at the bottom of posts, the report, like, etc links are all the same colour, too.

Also, when you click like the icon for the thumb turns up above the word like. Don't know if that's another bug or if it was intentional.

Please let me put out the things that are actively on fire. I promise I'll get to you when I can.

You fixed it, @fraize. Thank You so much for getting my stars, not ducks, in a row. Happy again. :) (Emoji on same line too. Groovy.)

The blue is now back on in the profile names and the unread threads have the normal bold again. The alerts are also looking normal. Thanks @fraize! :)

@Fraize Today I got an error a few times when trying to open some WS threads in new tabs. I tried to refresh the pages and it worked for 3 of them. The one I attached below kept returning the error. Not sure why I am being "rate limited" and "temporarily banned" 😭

Quoting myself to add that I got the error again today. I noticed that both times it happened I was opening multiple threads in new tabs, and the error comes after 4 or 5 new tabs, so this might be what triggers the temporary ban.

I think you're right. It can happen if the site thinks you are spamming it with too many requests.

I don't know where to put this as there's no useful eg. 'help accessing the site' thread on here. Which is what I need and this is the question I really, urgently, need a response to:

Why am I having to go through 'human' verification (via Cloudflare) every time I access this site? I've never had to do it previously and nothing has changed as far as my location/connection/log-in details are concerned. But now, every single time I access the site over the last couple of weeks, I have to go through this tedious verification nonsense.

Can a mod please respond here or via pm to me as to why this is happening - and ideally fix it so it stops.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks @Cool Cats for pointing me in the direction of where this issue is being discussed.

Shame it's not had a sub-thread of its own though - rather than being tucked inside the one it's tucked inside - since it seems to be a new issue and one that's affecting so many people.

I wonder if it would be possible to move the "New Posts" section above the "Most Popular Forums" on the front page? The most popular forums rarely changes, so we don't need to see it as often as the constantly-changing new posts. And I personally find it a little disturbing to see the faces of crime victims or perpetrators every time I click in.

I don't mind seeing the victims but it really creeps me out seeing Bundy's eyes and other murderers.

User's can't move sections at this time, but you can collapse many of them. Have you noticed the toggle-switch on the upper-right of the section headers? Click them and they'll go away!

I'm not sure if there's a better place to ask this, but how can I navigate to a page showing most recent threads created? Not posts within a thread or threads with new activity, but actually new as the whole thread is created.

I feel like this would help me find out about new cases more quickly and easily, rather than just randomly seeing them pop up in the most recent posts feed. Thanks!!

I don’t know a general place where you can see all the newly created threads, but you can see newly created threads in the forums you are interested. For example, if you are interested in new threads for missing people you go to Missing Persons Discussion and on the right side you can open the Filter, and choose Sort by First Message. Unfortunately you need to do this in every Forum of interest.

Thanks! That's very cumbersome, but good to know about 😺
