I think what I heard was that someone (her dad?) took her to Hertz to rent a car when she said she was going to Monterrey for a few days. I would imagine that it was THAT rental car the the 9mm and the knives were found in. So a second car was rented after the killing when she was back to CA. Her dad said it in his interview.

Was she visiting Darryl in Monterrey after the killing?

IIRC, her Mom had rented her a car the day she was arrested. I think JA was going to make a break for it and the police arrested her.

I'm curious as to why you think she left it on purpose.

Perhaps she thought it would look more suspicious if the camera was found to be missing?Maybe she did what she thought was the easiest thing to do. Delete the photos. Leave the camera behind. I still think she wouldn't have taken the trouble to delete the photos in that post-murder clean up if she had planned on taking the camera with her.

I think ALV has it all wrong.. JA's mother is snow white and JA is the wicked witch as a response to it. JA is NO snow white. She see's her mother as weak and un-evolved, this is what she hates about her. JA has taken on a more powerful female role than her mother. JA doesn't eat poison apples, she serves them up!

Nothing would surprise me. But what happened to the Mom since that police interrogation? Seems like a different woman. Didn't the Mom try to sell letters to a daily rag?

What happened to mom? She has had 5 years to process that her daughter is a going to most likely be put to death. You know the stages of grief.

DENIAL-ANGER-BARGAINING-DEPRESSION-ACCEPTANCE.

Even the mother of a murder will go through this. I don't like Jodi, In fact I despise her. Travis' family also had to go through these stages with his death and now rehashing. Just cause her mother is related to a lunatic, doesn't mean she isn't going to put up some sort of a act in the courtroom. TBH, we don't KNOW what she is thinking.

I think I found no sympathy for her until I saw those tapes. I believe she was a mother lost on what had gone wrong with the being that SHE created.

Even, say, Nancy grace said she would do whatever she could to defend her kids, EVEN IF they had done such a heinous act.

I agree Dan she must have been told a great story at first but was wondering at what point in the case ALV would have first been interviewed by JM? It's so hard for me to imagine at least one thing in that interview didn't make her think twice? She must have also been aware of how the stories had changed too. Also if the rumour is true that other Expert Witnesses refused to take the case on, and that's why they had to go out of State to get ALV, her view must have been very bias to begin with.

Why do people keep calling Steely "Dan"? I remember when I first saw his post years and years and years ago I sent him a private message to share My favorite band when I was in college was steely Dan.
