From her police interview, it seems that Sandy did know. She mentioned how upset JA was when she found out about Travis' death. (She'd had FIVE days to practice her reaction...) :furious:

I tend to think so, too. I also think that Jodi thought that she could use her feminine wiles to convince Travis that he couldn't let her go, but the sexual encounter didn't work this time, and the relationship was over for good. I think that Jodi left - or pretended to leave - but returned and surprised Travis in the shower dressed like one of the Ninjas that she describes. :moo:

Yes, after the defense the state will put on a rebuttal case, and she will testify, not sure exactly when.

Eh. Family dynamics are a tricky thing.

I have posts around here mentioning (bits and pieces) that my mom is crazy and has done some horrible things, including criminal. I am the black sheep of the family because I demanded answers as to why and the rest of my family acts like she has never done the things she has done. They cater to her like she is this perfect angel. Its the 'ol "if I cover my eyes, I wont see it" game they play. My brothers and father cover for the "sins" of my mother for whatever reasons that I don't know....and it drives me nuts!!

I think jodis mom is the same way....

Really, we don't know what the dynamics are in that family. A child that's a murderer, one in rehab, parents in denial (on the surface).....who the heck knows what goes on behind closed doors.

BBM I'm the same way. My parents have always enabled my half sisters' behaviors. Two years ago my youngest sister was found dead in her apartment and the hardest thing I have ever had to do was sit my mother down and tell her that my sister had died and as a critical care nurse there have been many instances of where my heart was breaking for my families.

I'm beginning to think maybe Jodi gave the appearance of leaving and snuck back in which may explain the look of shock on Travis' face. I also don't believe that the two of them went to sleep bc at that point I believe he was becoming scared about what she might do to him.

IMO there is no way she leaves only to sneak back in...she stole a gun, dyed her hair, rented a car for $223, borrowed gas cans...spent $100 on gas and turned off her cell phone.

She wouldn't leave. She's a "photographer" always documenting trips, his chicken dance etc. so asks him to pose for a few quick "Calvin Klein shower pics!" before she leaves. He agrees ad spends 11 minutes obviously posing while she doesn't even care how the pics look...she has him wet, naked, exposed and enclosed on three sides...she gets her weapon ready then stabs him in the chest.

There might even be a way to work this into her teachings. The Teacher becomes the abused by simply standing up for an abused woman. When nobody else believed her or would help her, I did.

I'm sure her fan base over decades is large enough they should be coming to her aide? I have not seen them post anywhere, but I was not really looking.

This will turn into some kind of teaching moment. Still the burning question to me is if ALV truly believes that Travis Alexander beat the living crap out of Jodi Arias several times and almost killed her 3 times.

Almost kill is a big thing to say.. You can hit, you can shove. To almost kill says to me 911 would have to be involved along with a few weeks in ICU. Which didn't happen. And if she was laying on the floor of his bedroom almost dead from almost being killed, why didn't anyone notice her? (basically IN a frat house environment)

It's absurd to think ALV actually believes that TA almost killed her! JA's self-defense claim is predicated on the fairy tale that when Travis started chasing her down the hallway on June 4, she had flashbacks of the time that he allegedly chased her, straddled her, choked her, and she lost consciousness! IT NEVER HAPPENED! There is not a scintilla of evidence! No photos, no police report, no hospital visits...nada, zilch, zero. Out of 82,000 texts and emails, there should have been at least ONE referencing this 'traumatic event'. Where were the text messages and/or recorded phone calls from Travis - apologizing for almost killing her?

And the body slam by a wet, naked man after she allegedly dropped the camera? Never happened. She would have ended up in a body cast for a month after being body slammed on a tile floor!

If Jodi wanted to scare all of TA's girlfriends away, all she had to do was tell them how he almost killed her. That he had a violent nature. Instead, she slashed their tires, stalked them, and wrote horrible letters to them. She could have ruined his reputation in the Mormon community and any future relationships he would have. It never happened, and this is why she probably started with the 'pedophile' lies! She wanted to destroy Travis.

The women he talks about was as nuts as Jodi and what he went through to get rid of her.

A stop on her way maybe, but Travis did not guilt her. I'll drop by and drop off these car payments, cd of photos while on my way to visit friends, and she had her foot in the door and she wouldn't shut up or leave. From that point on Travis was a hostage of Jodi's.
The sex photos are disturbing, the shower ones even more so. Someone posted about the poses in Psycho and Travis's, and they are eerily similar. The thoughts of maybe she'll just go if I do this and at some point he saw the gun.

And seeing here today that ALV's "partner" is a credentialed PhD family/individual counselor who's no doubt been watching the trial, it's impossible to believe ALV acted in good faith and simply reached a wrong conclusion imo.

... criminals are able to play social workers like violins. It is amazing to watch it.

ITA And people with personality disorders can do the same thing with therapists of all stripes and specialties. I watched my little sister play them for fifteen years as she struggled with bulimia and anorexia, complications of which eventually killed her. Meanwhile, every single psychologist, psychiatrist, or counselor she went to bought the stories she told them hook, line, and sinker. It was terribly frustrating for us to keep hearing the same things we knew to be untrue about her behavioral patterns and childhood history, among other things.

I think that is why I am less patient with ALV in this instance. I have been through it first hand and know how difficult it is to have an authority figure making judgments about your family dynamic based on fantasies constructed by a very ill person. I guess I do know how the Alexander family feels listening to her assassinate his character on the strength of the rantings of an admitted liar (albeit one that I do believe has several major personality disorders, none of which excuse her behavior.)

I don't assume that all mental health professionals are easily fooled. I only speak to my personal experience in the case of my sister.

ok then...I just didn't think for a minute he'd coddle that side. I mean the doctors like to get into the head of a criminal, I understand that stuff, but I can't picture Dr Phil letting her get a full sentence out without "OK we're not going to go one second further if you continue down the path of lies, you're wasting my time.....etc etc"
